When Sonnet and Limerick parted
Sonnet became most brokenhearted
Limerick though blue
Met up with Haiku
It was over soon as it started.

Premium MemberLet There Be Limericks: To All You Wannabe Poets

I
To all you wannabe poets,
Here's a word of advice ere you start:
If you want folks to love it,
Keep your ego out of it,
When you write always write from the heart.

II
It's great fun to write haiku and sonnets
About rainbows and gay Easter bonnets,
But if you find them too terse,
You can flesh out your verse,
And festoon it with quatrains and nonets.

III
Poets come, and poets go, and poets coincide.
Some rhyme time and time again, others "free verse" with pride.
But those who let their egos reign
Oft fade and never scribe again.
They succumb to the literary sin of authorcide.

IV
Writing is for me both pain and pleasure,
The time I spend with pad and pen I treasure.
I must confess, though,
Sometimes I stress so,
When syllables I choose to use refuse to measure.

Premium MemberLimyru

a young author of east asian wit
had a bad tendency to forget
seems a self-centered one line haiku has at least a problem or two
so he wrote monokus for a bit

Premium MemberSouper Dupe

A young Souper was feeling the burn
When his poem count took a downturn
First, he wrote a haiku
Then a monoku too
By deleting some carriage returns

Premium MemberA Shy Personage

My poetess friend, a shy personage
Sips tea while composing her versenage
Ah, but now she’s deciding
T’would be more exciting
To marry, for better or worsenage.

She wrote all the vows they would say
At church, when arrived the big day.
Hubby hadn’t rehearsed
So in his vows, he cursed!
Made bride and priest turn ashengray.

She learned hubby wasn’t poetical
Her haiku just made him upsettical,
She’d read her new sonnet,
But he didn’t wonnet
He’d go drive his V-8 Corvettical!

Food Haiku By Horn

Food Haiku By Horn

Before we would cook,
Recipee fell out when shook,
From pages in book.

We could hardly wait,
For the meal which would be great;
Never ever late.

So when suspicious,
Food dishes would meet wishes;
They were delicious.

For us all to share
Our food was flown in the air;
Was beyond compare.

Facts did appear firm,
Bird food loved had been long worm;
Would wiggle and squirm.

Jim Horn

With Holy Food Have Been Feed

Our imagination should try to spread;
When with Holy Food have been feed;
Not tired,
And inspired;
To heaven one day are sure to be lead.

Appetite Try To Satisfy

Any appetite we would try to satisfy,
And meal for sinners always supply;
On us relied;
Food provide,
Them things to eat and not pass by.

Premium MemberOne Small Indiscretion

One wild happy-go-lucky senryu
Was caught impersonating a haiku
They levied no fines
But removed two lines
Now she's a stick-in-the-mud monoku

Losing Poetic Touch

Losing Poetic Touch

All my fingers may have to clutch;
Thought I was losing poetic touch;
Turned pale;
A hang nail;
Had called Trump a such and such.

Jim Ho, Ho, Ho Horn

Could care less if any of my poems are
Poem of the Day ones. They are all Poems
of the Day to me in my poetic life cycle.

Think I like the humorous ones the best.
Helps me endure Trump and all of his
German shennagins. Can a shennagin
be in any language? I have fifty poems
I still have to type up. Many are Horn
Haiku. I always hate typing.

Limericks Must End

I have decided the limericks must end
But each time I firm my resolve and begin
I'll try one new
Like a Haiku
But all of a sudden it happens again!

Horn Haiku and Point of View

So what should I say
Words went away anyway
For Another day.

How is that for Horn haiku,
Along with his point of view.

Horn Puerto Rico Haiku

Horn Puerto Rico Haiku

All over Puerto Rico exists everywhere,
People who need our comfort and care;
Worry and fear,
There and here;
All they do have is sadness and despair.

Need things so their problem to be solved;
American military must become involved;
Them will greet;
Not suffer defeat;
With their efforts problems are resolved.

People in Puerto Rico are literally dying,
And caring for children who are crying;
Some seem starving;
Deep in health carving;
Will meet needs when we start supplying.

Trump and His Horse

Trump and His Horse

Wonder when Trump will play the part;
Where he does began or ever can start;
Big pain being;
Not worth seeing;
He and his horse could not find the cart.

Wow. On a roll. Have to go back
and finish sanding house so I can
paint it. Jim Horn

PS. Here is another Horn Haiku.

How you communicate,
With someone is how they will,
Always respond back.

Trump acts and communicates like a
child. People will act the same way in
return.

Dear Mario Vitale

Suited To Be Recruited

When we have not been letting God bless,
Our minds may always end up in a mess,
And after to Him we did forget to pray,
we soon discovered sadness and dismay.

Have to look nice and be properly suited;
In service you are sure to be recruited;
Then read haiku well written by Jim Horn;
Magnificent poem in your mind will be born.

Jim Horn

Guess you can't have two styles of
poems at the same time.

Write A Poem Horn Haiku

on words was a play
am sure that you understand
write short poem for me

Dear, Mario Vitale

Ivory Tower for Trump is now too tall;
Takes advantage of and treats us small;
Can be confusing;
Never is amusing;
Deceptive and for him we did not fall.
