Premium MemberPolar Bear Off Course

A polar bear unexpectedly washed up
on a beach of sun-soaked sand, blinking at palm trees
like they were part of some cosmic prank.

He tried to build a snow fort out of coconuts and optimism,
but everything kept melting~
except his dignity.

Soon he learned to waddle in flip-flops,
sip pineapple juice through a straw, and fan himself with a leaf
the size of his entire head.

He decided, with a shrug, that life is mostly about adapting~
even if you’re a creature of snow
learning to love the warm, ridiculous world.

Premium MemberFOR THE LOVE OF PARMESAN

A squirrel named Lou lived up a tree
with tastes refined as tastes could be.
He’d sniff acorns, then pout and say,
“Again? I had those yesterday.”

One afternoon he found a plate
of spaghetti—fresh, al dente, great.
He twirled each noodle with such flair,
like a tiny chef with perfect hair.

He slurped a strand, then struck a pose
with parmesan dust on his nose.
He’d scamper off, then shout, “Encore!”
and steal lasagna from your door.

One day he tried a ravioli~
declared it “too square, too holy.”
But fettuccine made him sing,
and penne made him do a fling.

Premium MemberForever and a Day

I love a play on words with birds
The topic gives me wings
I’m also stirred by tax deferred
Each among my favorite things

What I like best is when you jest
Your smile lights up my day
My heartfelt quest is we both stay blessed
Forever and a day

Premium MemberThe Voices

I hear them there in mist of my depths
In silence like a whisper next to you
Speaking familiar tone, occasional stranger
Truth, say listen to gut feel
But are they illusion of times passing
Sounding real, wait; depths are not silent
What is edge to which one is push
The bond and spirit broken away to insanity

When is it we listen not to our own
That we follow idle talk our portrait be
Voices say kill while love spare hatred
Revenger of iniquity one's reduced to flesh

I sleep, sometimes waking to the cries echo
Who's there, who is it I am corresponding
Who's there that I am not alone in myself
Perhaps conscience or imagination run wild
Or just another voice of life leading us on the journey

Premium MemberWhen It's Okay to Hate

It's okay to hate injustice.
It's okay to hate addiction.
It's okay to hate war.
It's okay to hate oppression.
It's okay to hate tyranny.
It's okay to hate sin.
It's okay to hate murder.
It's okay to hate death.
It's okay to hate, hate.
It's okay to hate, sometimes.
Sometimes, it's necessary
 in order to understand
               Love.

Premium MemberIn Our World

And my world that cuddles another heart next to mine as my stars pulse and fall in line... to discover another, he is beauty pure warming the flavor of air: The moon spreads rays in slow fire of blithe blowing wistfully through life's frames-- that I'm connected with a universe harmless, beautiful, and simple. He breathes in me, holding my hands like a soft bracelet of stars glittering still on our twentieth glide

Premium MemberHow did we come to be

How did we come to be,
you and me,
was it fate, karma, kismet,
or destiny?
How did we feel
it was the right time
to take a chance,
to fall into the trance,
that would lead to eternal
romance?
How did we know the feeling
was right?
Could it be you felt the soul
of the Poet,
and he got lost in your spiritual
light?

How did we come to be,
you and me,
was it fate, karma, kismet,
or destiny?
How did we know
it was the right time
to share a dream,
to believe in you and me,
to be free to allow our hearts
to feel the sweetness of love.
Could it be we felt that special
connection,
and knew this was the real
thing?

How did we come to be,
you and me?

There’s no other
I’d rather share
My life with.
There’s no other
I’d rather give
My organs to.
There’s no other
I’d rather have
By my side.
There’s no other
Like you.
