Oh, you mighty winged wonder,
Drifting on a balmy breeze.
Across clover scented air,
And over deep salty seas.
Light as a feather you fly,
Surveyor of lands below.
Through mountain passes you glide,
Withstanding the caps of snow.
Now landing and perched on high,
Your task is put to the test.
With your chicks well on the way,
You scurry to build a nest.
New eggs are ready to hatch,
And soon you'll have mouths to feed.
You search among forest floors,
With the hopes of worm and seed.
Newborns are safely asleep,
As you guard them through the night.
When daybreak peeks overhead,
Back to the freedom of flight.
Vibrant and bold, wings
Lifted on the wind
Whispering hope, laughter
Sunshine reflecting joy
Dancing wistfully, whimsically
Coloring the heart in hues
Brilliant as the azure sky
More beautiful than the smile
Twinkling in the kindly eyes
Sparkling with wonder, alive
Like a song stirred by butterfly kisses
Against the petals of a blushing rose
Rustling pleasures, breathless
As light as a feather
Drifting hope across the dawn

The gurgling of the brook
Daisies swaying on the bank
As light as a feather I am, to look
Problems tossed with the stone that sank
The wind chime music, playing light
Jingling in the soft breeze of air
As light as a feather, I take flight
My mind is floating in ways I care
Clouds travel above me in the sky
Moving in patterns to see
As light as a feather, I watch them go by
Dreaming of places I want to be
Soft Dandelion seeds circle in wind from flowers
In an open field, where I am free
As light as a feather, like soft rain showers
In a ballet dance between each tree
As light as a feather, where I have peace of mind
As light as a feather, in these discoveries I find

God granted me my most ardent prayer
I couldn't have hoped for anything more.
The sun spun golden glints in auburn hair
to crown an angel's face that I adore.
When we met, I knew we'd be together
my heart was racing and wouldn't slow down.
And I felt giddy, light as a feather,
like my team won... and I scored the touchdown!
Through the years, skin wrinkles and hair fads grey
and yet, beauty is filtered through the heart.
And the love we share sustains us each day
only death can ever force us apart.
Love means much more than wanting to be there,
it's a lifelong commitment two hearts share.

Leaving old troubles
and cutting the tether,
spreading these wings
still light as a feather
Am free as a bird
no matter the weather,
just floating on air
as light as a feather
Skimming the hills
over lilac and heather,
take wing to the clouds
so light as a feather
Venture that horizon
alone or together,
onto a new dawning
now light as a feather.
Love as soft as a feather touched me
Lifting my heart to fly high
Our hands held us up in the sky
Below, boundless beauty to see
I let go of a happy tear
Like a raindrop through the air, it fell
It landed in a wishing well
Suddenly, there was no more fear

Light as a feather, blowing gently in the wind,
A whisper spoken from your lips speak of love,
You gently blow seeds from a dandelion, to spread the seeds,
As you watch them fly away, you become light as a feather,
As you are surrounded, by the ever changing weather.
Light as a feather, are the thoughts inside your mind,
Are they nice, negative, peaceful, or are they kind?
We don't know the outcome of our world around us,
Yet here we are amongst mother nature and her gifts,
Some small, some large, some are hidden away for us to find,
Is it up to us to seek and find? To walk amongst natures fury,
Hear the crunch of Autumn leaves beneath our feet? To feel the
Hot hazy summer's heat upon our face? To see the beauty that
Awaits us in the oceans shores?
All We know is, the fate of our souls, are on the gentle wings of
A feather, on the back of a eagle, hawk, soaring high above us,
Waiting for you to seek and find, so slow down and look above,
You just might see the love of your heart flying free, all for those to see
and love....
Gam-ma and baby were spending the day.
Looking for ways to laugh and to play!
Baby said Gam-ma I want to dance!
Twirl me PLEEEASE, will you give it a chance?
Gam-ma said, “baby, it has been too long:
Since I have danced, let’s just sing a song”!
Oh twirl me Gam-ma, twirl me PLEEEASE!
Oh twirl me Gam-ma, just like the breeze!
You can sing a song as we twirl around.
Oh pretty PLEEEASE Gam-ma, we won’t fall down!
So around and around, Gam-ma and baby twirled together.
Till the room was spinning, and they were as light as a feather!
Gam-ma stopped so that she and baby could rest.
But baby said “twirl again, oh PLEEEASE” she pressed!
We need to rest Gam-ma desperately said.
We need to rest, as she held tightly her head!
PLEEEASE, PLEEEASE, sweet baby cried.
Again and again, sweet baby sighed!
So around and around, Gam-ma and baby twirled together.
Till the room was spinning, and they were light as a feather!
While singing a song they both wiggled and jiggled.
Twirling around, Gam-ma and baby laughed and giggled!

She sashays, skipping down the stairs,
her hair drifting thin and soft around her ears,
feet barely brushing the steps.
Her skirt swirls about her knees like cotton candy.
The dress she wears matches her fuzzy eyelashes:
brown and soft, like sparrows.
When she passes over the threshold
of inside to out, she sails off into
the sky, praying for the right breeze
to carry her back to Earth.
