(i wrote this when i was 13 so i know its a little rough)
after that fight my sight wasnt so clear. im sorry i dont tell you everything, i have a fear.
i just cant open up to you for fear. i keep it from you for fear of....
(chorus)the beast i keep inside tears me apart. i try so hard to keep the demon of my
mind caged, but sometimes the mask falls off. i want to tell you everything, but i cant. i
run from myself cause im afraid the beast i keep locked up will catch up and take over
me. im in a war vs. myself and im afraid im losing. im losing.
the lock in my heart is rusted and old. my tears are acid that brakes the lock. with every
tear i trip a little bit more and i fall a little more behind. im catching up with myself and
im ready to fall. oh im ready to. im ready. oh take my life away.
(chorus)
now as i walk the halls of my mind i find no monster lurking around the corner. there is
no beast awaiting to tear me apart. the demon i thought i saw has disapeared. the war
has been fought. and i can finaly say i won.
To give up on love is to give up on life. I find not that men and women have the answers to
life's greatest questions; but that we band together through emotion to fight life's battles.
The greatest emotion of them all being love. Life is like war in many ways. Full of death and
pain. With shear moments of victory. I try to focus on my victories and not my losses. When
people speak of depression I often think they must of given up on love and are forced to
fight the war alone.
To love is to live.
Dont you ever wonder
Just what life can be
If only you knew the answer
How easy it might seem
You see, we are all prisoners
stuck hopelessly inside our own skin
we never know if what we know
is worth the keeping in
how can we be who we are
if who we are is not
we are all what weve created
in hopes of being not
just another person
in an even more hopeless world
our thoughts become our passions
and passions are easily lost
to who we know and what they know
we affect our every thought
a war of who who is better
a war of endless hope
a war to try to figure out
if we are what we have hoped
so tell me this with honesty
and tell me this to see
if you are you and i am me
and we become what we cant be
then how are we to live?
The war that rages within
is what keeps me sound
The boom of my heart
like a grenade thrown in the enemies camp
The soaring of my soul
as a missile launched for our country's sake
The balance that ensues as I take a deep breath
reminds me of the peace treaty between this world and the next
I speak not of a war rived in anger
but of one that will bring us to acceptance
one that will cause us to admit
then when this war is over,
we shall conform
You will not get the best of me,
I WILL be the victorious one.
My determination rages strongly
Because the war is not yet won.
This battle may be yours to claim,
But all bets are on me.
My spirit you cannot maim,
I WILL have the final victory.
My soul is weary and covered with scars.
At times I feel tired and alone.
But my destiny is written in the stars,
The war is not yet won.
You will NOT defeat me,
I WILL be the triumphant one.
I WILL be whole and happy.
This war has just been won.
As time defies thought of betterment and wishes
We struggle, as an uphill battle ensues for cause
Standing face to face with time, it certainly wins
But, the battle won’s no indication of the war itself
As heart remains, as will is strong, as goodness exists
We will remain triumphant in the war on time
For what missions go unfulfilled, we pass the baton
To the next generation of soldiers of right and light
