Borman and Anders and Lovell have gone around the moon
And charter trips in rocket ships may well be starting soon
We've reached a time in history that's called the lunar age
A frantic race to conquer space has now become the rage
Meanwhile down here on Mother Earth things haven't changed one bit
We bomb and raid what we have made led on by some half-wit
Man doesn't stop and try to save the treasures that are near
Let's lock the latch on the booby hatch—the loony age is here
Some years ago I discovered a sign
in a men's public toilet
the sound and feel of my own laughter
filled me with much delight
Please don t throw your cigarette butts in the urinal
it makes them damp and hard to light
It is hard to imagination that the man who wrote this sign
would have had such a deep nicotine affliction
To attempt to light a soggy butt
to satisfy his daily nicotine addiction
Would this sign be found in a women's public toilet
There's no urinal, Their sign would likely read
This toilet is only suitable for one kind of butt
and when you leave please make sure the dunny lid is shut
It’s been a hard day but there’s no laws to say
That I can’t settle down with a gin
Late night R & R with an hour of TV
And then I will maybe turn in
The gin… that was easy, just spin that screw cap
Then tip up the bottle and pour
But what freaking demon has screwed G & T
It never was this hard before
This flaming recycling nonsense is mad
With screw caps that won’t separate
The cap and the bottle do not come apart
And boy does it make me irate
A one handed action to top up my glass
To sparkle and fizz as I sip
But that is no more because some lunatic
Decided he’d give me some gyp
Brute force is required to crack that first seal
But the cap simply won’t unattach
It sits in the flow and it will not let go
As it acts like a half open hatch
So now I need one hand to angle the bottle
Another to hold back the cap
It’s driving me nuts, I just want to relax
So much for this net zero crap
My bottle of tonic is sat in the cooler
But I settle down in my seat
The medics are worried about a big rise
In folk drinking alcohol neat.
Started shielding myself a long time ago as a useful tactic to not burst and overflow
Intentionally kept a lid on any emotion as told myself not to make a commotion
What used to work before is now a burden so I’m ready to reveal what is behind the curtain
Fine with letting feelings float to the surface as realizing they are there to serve a purpose
Stopped running away to lean in instead as finding value in what pops up in my head
Done sheltering my heart just to survive so opening it instead to feel alive and thrive
Keep the Lid On
There is no reason to throw away years of progress for a momentary,
fit of anger,
you will not obtain a profit from rioting in the street,
Do not play into the hands who would like to turn the situation,
to their means,
and roll good laws retrograde.
Keep the lid on for your own good as well,
I have no snake oil to sell,
acting in your own interest keeps your freedom free.
So far you have shown great restraint,
that's more than I can say for the Memphis police,
indictments have been made the guilty will pay.

Dasher was reluctant, and in a bad mood anyway
So, he let Santa try to push him, out of his way
Santa gave an elongated sigh as he pushed him up snow.
But Dasher weighs five hundred and two and refused to go.
What will I do with you? Santa asked his reindeer, the lead.
He might have to appoint another animal as North Pole steed.
I guess I will invite Vixen to be my new favorite, Santa said.
This made Dasher angrier; his cheeks turned pinkish red.
Prancer and Dancer were laughing at the situation at hand.
Rudolph was giddy, dancing to a Mexican tequila band.
Dasher ran off, showing his backside with a sassy flip.
Making Santa yell out “bleepy gleepy creepy gyp blip!”
It’s an interesting thing that little children do,
Catching fireflies in a jar not thinking it through.
They cover the jar and tighten the jar lid,
Placing it in the bookcase from mother it’s hid.
Tucked in their beds in a very dark room,
The tiny lights dancing as if to a tune.
Then slowly one by one the lights go out,
It wasn’t a good idea, of this I don’t doubt.

heard God would forbid
have to close the commode lid
this is what we did
we will flip our lid
hearing that we have COVID
of want to get rid
On Politicians Keep A Lid
On Politicians we should keep a lid,
And they always act like a little kid,
Preposterous,
Like rhinocerious;
Who we must forbid and of get rid.

"Bellows",
bellows the blacksmith
the thatched roof crofter's cottage
so beautiful
in the cottage garden
the wild pink heather evokes
fond memories of Victoria.
Trump Caused Us To Flip Lid
Trump has caused us to flip our lid;
On all his actions should apply skid;
Am battle torn;
Weather worn;
Bring him to an end and do get rid.

This is my tenth poem of the day
I have written and cannot write
any more. Will continue tomorrow.
Hope this does take care of your
comments day.
Propaganda and being brain washed
in a psychological nightmare.
Much mental pain and stress that is
completed with emotional trauma.
This is our mental upsetting world.
Am watching Chuck Todd and The Lid
right now.
Did A Bid On the Lid
Had been no telling what they did,
So would go head and make a bid;
By next dawn,
New phenomanon;
Won and ended up buying "The Lid."

Trump Had Flipped His Lid
We remember when Trump did flip his lid;
And we knew he had been just a little kid;
Total nonsense,
While dense;
You could surely tell it by the things he did.
