Thicket like at rest
Raises as lanky limbs stretch
Scuttles hurriedly
lanky lean lithe limber lollygagging Leo loved a little lampoonery
loving lasting laughter, leisurely learning lemonade lessons
lickety split, laundering little leagues of lithographs in lime
A tall lanky lug named Gary Giraffe
Acted so awkward he made others laugh.
He never reacted or even to mind,
For Gary seemed to be much too refined.
Gary the gangly, sweet spotted Giraffe
Drank water from a cracked golden carafe.
Some snarling zoo neighbors felt he was odd,
Perhaps an arrogant herbivore clod.
Still, Gary sipped his carafe at the zoo
As an elite giraffe is wont to do.
For giraffe health he did as he ought-er
Never failing to drink his spring water.
Though Gary’s carafe made hyenas laugh
Zoo lions roared loudly for Gary Giraffe.
eerie syllables spanked
by tainted trance
nocturnal nature puked
bounty boo blew
hoisting haggard rhymes
porous perfection chided
life like limb
lusty labium crippled
vying velocity tripped
dark days damped
traced gullible dance
drooling death pat
pulpy pen dripped
lost lanky ink.

Note: Dedicated to John Donne
nocturnal nature nimble
taunting tainted treble
felon feelings fumble
airy atmosphere gobble
rustic rhythm birthed
moaning melody tremble
dark dances complement
callous concerto's crest
bounty biddings bent
lanky coda lurches
nature hanker surges
puking punctured confetti
bruised skin blushes
under mystic massages.

Laconic lullaby a simple sigh
a wink a terse goodbye,
pithy pun a pointed reply
made turgid when seen eye to eye.
Tangy zest an alibi
for why you flit on by
to mollify and justify
your brusque awry reply.
