Wind Of Chance

The billowing wind
rendered alluring melodies
luring many men
thirsty for his fate
each beholding his cup
full of frothing lager
concealing the lethal dregs
making the jolly man
a hollow being

That Friday Feeling

that Friday feeling calls near noon
with thoughts of lager capped by foam
and dreams this work-day will end soon
which gives your mind a mood to roam

to favored joints, where with the guys
you joke, guffaw, and swig cold beer
until a soft glance meets your eyes,
inviting you to swagger near

and, with bravado, take a chance
to learn her name is Betty-Lou
and yes, indeed, she'd love to dance;
this precious, lovely dream-come-true

melts in your arms when music slows,
allowing hands to learn each curve
while floral scent enthralls your nose,
imbuing you with manly nerve

to hand-in-hand flee into night
where moon peeps down on newfound bliss
and giddy hearts take sudden flight
when lips approach to share a kiss

but garlic-breathing boss looms near,
you shake awake, return alive,
are bull's-eye of his nasal sneer:
"the weekend, Clown, don't start till five!"

Soccer

I want to feel the ground swell
to share it
Saturday, comes too soon
drowns the afternoon
and see City demoted for fair play
10,000 plastic cups
a river of lager streams
Its not that I'm afraid of fencing
but these stadiums hem me in

Two parrakeets.
On the 3rd day of Christmas my true love sent to me,
Three Kangaroos hopping.
On the 4th day of Christmas my true love sent to me,
Four Cockatoos squawking.
On the 5th day of Christmas my true love sent to me,
Five Emu eggs.
On the 6th day of Christmas my true love sent to me,
Six Baileys bottles
On the 7th day of Christmas my true love sent to me,
Seven Fosters lager
On the 8th day of Christmas my true love sent to me,
Eight Johnny Walker Reds and a Koala in a gum tree.
On the 9th day of Christmas my true love sent to me,
Too drunk to remember what it was hic, but its gunna be a bonza holiday, hic. The koalas and me are sure to enjoy it. Happie Holadayys evry 1

Premium MemberHe Cut All My Hair

Went for a "HAIR CUT" at the local barber
Must have misunderstood probably into the lager
He cut “ALL” my hair
Not just "ONE" up there
Called him a bozo as I made my departure

The Class Act

The Class Act

It dawned on me to get ahead in life, I had to speak
proper the way words are laid out in books
It is hard to talk posh I had to write down what
I was going to say when meeting friends or if they
approved of the new me.
“Good evening, my good man; have you travelled far?”
For heaven’s sake, Oscar, I live next door to you
“Good evening, my landlord, two glasses of your best
ale please.” What!!
Don’t mind him bar-keep is trying to be posh, two
pints of lager as usual (some friends)
My mother was proud, told friends: “my son wears
a tie, I think he is courting.”
I dropped my posh accent, when turned down for
a job I wanted; they said I spoke too slowly and had no
Personality.

Web Dreams

The male of the black widow spider species
offers its head to be eaten
by the lager female arachnid.

Is this sex, love, or blind instinct?

We need a different mind-set
a new understanding.

Some say Nature is perfect,
some consider it flawed, brutal,
red in paw and claw.

Only a bad dream could be this horrific,
only a good dream is aware that it is dreaming.

The exactness of the spider web
could only be the work of an impeccable design,
an image of a reality proffered up
not to confound, but to awaken,

the male and female spider seem to know this,
all be it instinctual, yet naturally beneficial
to these unquestioning creatures.

We should all pay attention,
for a dream within a dream is still a dream.

Bridgerton

Dear readers, please dwell awhile
Sit here a moment I pray
I wish to speak a little
of what and how people say

Surely the ladies here
would wish it to be thus
if everyone spoke and acted
as if on Bridgerton, discuss.

The people are so polite
and the gentlemen treat ladies well
ladies are wonderfully courted
while the gentlemen visit a spell

Balls are held and people dance
even insults sound charming
the ladies get all of a twitter
when the gentlemen are disarming

Wouldn't it be wonderful
instead of how it is now
if everyone spoke like that
and everyone curtsied and bowed

As long as we still had women's rights
that would still need to stand
but every now and then
to have a true gentleman to attend

To be whisked away, in a beautiful gown
and be twirled around the floor
instead of sitting in a pub
and someone saying, 'fancy a lager poured?'

I Love My Beer

They say beer is an enemy of man...
I drink and taste Ales, Lager, Pilsen well
there are splendid things in this world...
I imagine that whoever runs away
        from this type of enemy,
doesn't realize what it's being able
         to have friends!

every morning
step by slow step
he walks to the convenience store
two rolls and half a pint of milk
for breakfast
and two cans of lager
that is all of his hunger for life
which has remained
he calls it routine
and continues to wait
for nothing

Is Tanka a Poem

Is Tanka a poem

We the classless
seek no revolution only fairness
we like quality
a well-balanced diet
and cold German lager.
The stinking rich
one assumes they do not bath
can continue to pong
we seek no egalitarianism
only German lager.

Premium MemberGreen Beer

Fred wanted a St. Patty's green beer
And ventured out for miles on his old steer
Found a wild biker bar
Ended up with a scar
When he refused a brown lager, oh dear
