A Mangoes and Bananas Christmas

I don't know about the rest of the world,
But New Zealand will be sitting pretty this Christmas.

Santa may have trouble delivering the presents for the children,
We are not out of the woods with Covid, but fingers crossed.

Some family members will be stuck overseas,
And the number of homeless is on the rise.

But with enough Mangoes and Bananas for all,
We will be sitting pretty this Christmas.

We are so glad the government got their priorities right,
And let Mangoes and Banana's through without going into isolation.

We hope the rest of the world takes note,
so, everyone no matter where they live can have Mangoes and Banana's
  too, this Christmas.

For Breakfast Christmas morning we will be serving banana pancakes,
With blueberries and strawberries etc.

Christmas dinner will be followed by Mango ice cream and bananas with
 chocolate sauce.
And maybe a Mango Drink with or without Alcohol.

Of course, if we get tired of Mangoes and Bananas,
We are never short of Kiwi fruit or cream and chocolate.

Premium Member Theres a Squirrel In the Vending Machine

There’s a squirrel in the vending machine,
I’ll bet that he thinks he is very keen.
He’s eating up all of the jelly beans!
He’s the worst irritant that I have seen.

He’s devoured all the animal crackers,
pretzels and banana chips, that slacker;
a thieving fur ball of a nut cracker,
who has become a snack machine hacker.

Such a formidable machine invader,
an uninvited and loathsome raider.
I wish I had baby alligator,
to fix him good for stealing my ‘taters!

But as I gaze upon his chomping snoot,
my heart melts because he is very cute.
I suppose my anger is really moot;
perhaps he’d like a bite of Kiwi fruit.

Kiwi Fruit

Named after NZ's native bird,
there's an awesome fruit, it's concurred.
Sold with a spoon, never stirred
adored in salad, so I've heard,
it sounds absurd, it sounds absurd.

Fuzzy outside, brilliant green inner,
helping to digest your dinner.
Eat it raw to make you thinner,
when you work out, makes you trimmer.
It’s a winner, it’s a winner.

Its Vitamin c keeps you well,
boosting each immunity cell.
By binding toxin’s, they expel
the illnesses we all misspell.
They way excel, they, way excel.

Kiwis are tasty raw or stewed,
consuming one improves your mood.
Enjoy one now, go on, be shrewd,
help to end the growing fruit feud
it’s a superfood, superfood.

Summer Cooking

I sit at my table in the sun

Absorbing all natures love

Salad in bowl green and clean

Olives, cucumber, tomatoes, and feta cheese

A nice amount of iceberg lettuce

With a mixture of radishes and rocket

The BBQ going for those who want it

Some wonderful scented garlic bread

That's just come out the oven so are nice and fresh.

I got another sitting too one side with the freshest fruit

Succulent to the eyes

Melon, nectarines and grapes

But then I spy

Strawberries and kiwi fruit

I love all of this kind of salad and fruit

And the smell of freshly baked bread

The smell reverberating in my head

Summertime days sipping orange juice in the sun

Laughing g with your family and and friends who have come

To savour the flavours of good food

And to see a wonderful garden in full bloom

Yes! I love these days.

Katie put some chicken
kebabs in the fridge, then
kicked off her tight shoes. The
kettle boiled and she made
kiwi fruit tea. Her cute
kitten climbed onto her
knee and fell fast asleep.

Green

Green is a mix of blue and yellow,
And indeed it is both normal and bold;
It pertains to land, country, plant and tree,
And holds nature within its hand.

It symbolises rightness in ecology,
As the environment of the bird and animal,
It comes from plant chlorophyll which receives light,
Changing its energy into photosynthesis.

Plants breathe, and they breathe by chlorophyll,
The green pigment in all plants and cyanobacteria,
So when you say that life is not relational to you,
Just look at a green apple or a kiwi fruit and laugh!

Premium Member Kiwi Fruit

There is a little brown fruit called a “kiwi”.
Some people call it a “Chinese gooseberry“.
It is shaped like an egg, and very hairy.
It is named after a bird in New Zealand.
They are a tasty treat when they are on hand.
Cut it open, and see it is green inside.
Popularity is something not denied.
Seeds of the fruit are embedded in a ring.
Sweet and tangy juice has this edible thing.
Flavor like strawberries make my taste buds sing.
Found in the tropical Southern Hemisphere,
they grow domestically in abundance here.
When in season, they are much lower in price.
So go to your produce store for something nice.
