Old Songs

In the wee small hours of the morning, that's the time
you miss her most of all, I'd give her my last dime;
where do you go to my lovely when alone in your bed,
tell me thoghts that surround you, I can look inside your head.

The very thought of you and I forget to do, the very
ordinary things that I ought to do, I'm living in
a kind of daydream, I'm happy as a king, even tho'
it may seem that to me you're really my everything.

Why do the birds go on singging, why is the sun
in the sky, don't say no, it's the end of the world,
it ended when I lost your love; here in my heart
I'm so alone and so lonely, but then I have love for you only.

Now I shouted from the highest hill, even tho' golden daffodil,
once I had a secret love, my secret love's no secret anymore.

Dear Kathy Griffin

Dear Kathy Griffin,
I love you I do
But you're the only one
That did this to you

You can hem and you can haw
Place blame on them all
But your foot in your mouth
Is the cause of your fall

That flaming red hair
Along with the face of blue
And those crocodile tears
That you keep letting loose

Are turning us off
More than you ever thought
You might want to try and sell
This farm you have bought

You say womanhood is your victim
Of that I have doubts
And do you really kiss your mother
With that filthy mouth

A word of advice
To the not so glamorous wise
And that ain't no lie
Quit blaming the old white guy

One day this may blow over
And you'll count your lucky stars
But not before this galaxy
Does its best to forget who you are

Sincerely, Mike

P.S. I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself...

Chatty Kathy

This trait I hate!
This "Chatty Kathy" fate
I'm so Chatty Kathy today

My dignity, My grace
blows up in my face
whenever I'm talkin' this way

I'm never demure
(I'm not even sure
how I'd even BE that if I could)

So like it or not
I'm talkin' alot
maybe a lot more than I should.

Be careful with me
don't invite me for tea
If you do here's a simple heads up

Make sure you don't brew
"Constant Comment" for two
If you truly want me to 'shut up’.

Christmas With Kathy

There may not be presents under our tiny tree
or elaborate decorations for others to see.
No family or relatives will knock on our door
we are too far away and financially poor.

But our home is warm and the roof doesn't leak
and our home is filled with what so many seek.
We have food for our bodies and clothes on our back
and blessings are something we surely don't lack.

Our love for each other is a gift greater than gold,
no money can buy it for it can not be sold.
Thank you dear Kathy for all you have done
to make our little home a magnificent one.

Kathy Pike-Houston

Autumn leaves are falling
as I look back on life.
Never thought I'd live this long
through the trouble, toil and strife.

The road has been a rocky one
mostly scary, dark and grey
and God sure had to carry me
many times along the way.

As I watch the wind blown leaves
tossed wildly on the ground;
I'm reminded of the way life was
before your love I found.

You have no way of knowing
how your love has changed this man.
So I will strive in every way
to be the best I can.

Bride's Mound: For Kathy Hope

Bride's Mound is a site sacred to the Druids in Glastonbury.
This beautiful Druid funeral was a wonderful way to say farewell to a lovely soul.

Up on Bride’s Mound, where the sky meets the ground
Circle wheels within wheels, on a blue winter day
Child of the trees, of the stars and the breeze
How much we love her and want her to stay
Waft of incense on air, words of ritual prayer
Gentleness, blessing, children at play
They who confessed her, who laid out and dressed her
Scattering acorns, wormwood, and bay
No dark corner spared in the memories shared
Of the pain that she had before finding her way
Rivers of sound, through the harp, through the ground
Diluting the darkness, dissolving dismay
Herein is forgiving; the dead and the living
Made fresh by the scent of a rosemary spray
And redemption and peace, in her final release
Leave us free to remember and love as we may
We are all of us here, she has nothing to fear
Her spirit has gone from the bier where she lay
As together we stand, on this green hallowed land
Holding dear Kathy Hope as we love her away

Kathy the Calming Sea

Kathy The Calming Sea

You're just like a calming sea
singing us your final song of love
you will be forever in our hearts
in our memories, for eternity
now you're without pain,
without any suffering
we all love you still
you'll look down from heaven
watching over us helping us along
our way keeping us safe and sound
silently validating in our choices
at night I see you in my dreams
we will forever love you and keep
you in our hearts remembering every caring word you sang
in your sweet, beautiful voice
we miss you and love you, Kathy Ricks

Frank and Kathy Beyond Compare

Frank and Kathy Beyond Compare

When we recently heard about death of Frank
How heavy and hard his fan's hearts sank
After seeing pictures of him before their eyes
Brought memories and wanted to immortalize.

Perfect example for sons and daughters did set
And wish Frank was back with much regret
But still thoughts and memories of him live on
Even though now to heaven he has gone.

To take Frank's fine place no one ever can
He still will be Kathy's one and only man
She loves still feeling fingers through his hair
Now that he is gone, it is still hard to bare.

Continue on through life Kathy always will
And of it all still there is the terrific thrill
Even when lights are way down low or dim
Kathy's love is in every picture she sees of him.

Tim Horton's Kathy

The monitors above her head
would flicker light around.

The registers with type print on
would say 'no price was found'.

And Kathy stood behind the cash-
a beakon crowned with cap

to wish the people WELCOME.
A smile with-out crap.

A leopard bearing blue eyes,
Kathy stood to serve.

Her manners more expicit.
Her bravery without nerve.

An auburn light upon her.
It bronzing her blond hair.

Her torso come to teeter
with patience and with flair.

Surrounding her were donuts
encased in white-lit glass.

Where Kathy learned to gesture
and glance at them with class.

With prices all around her
on menu's black and white.

It's said that Kathy juggles
a combo for a knight.

But if you see her waiting,
it's not for Mr. Right.

It's under 20 minutes
and her coffee's a delight.

Kathy Blue

There's a Kathy who with several problems
will take a step or two
in taking steps to safely act
to stay ahead and through.

A kathy with a special sense
to look out into time.
One cautious of the coming things
both dangerous and sublime.

There's a Kathy learning from the past
not to tempt her fate.
A Kathy leaving things alone
knowing not to wait.

A kathy seeing the world as whole
and everything as new.
A kathy who has lived her life
as little Kathy Blue.

Cautious now to plan her way
her fear of making strife.
A girl not worried that the future
would judge and end her life.

There's a kathy back from in the past.
A kathy who proved true.
A little cautious Kathy girl.
Little Kathy Blue.

Kathy

Today I Have to Tell You
How Very Proud I Am
Remember How it Used to Be
How You Hit the Big "Grand Slam?"

Then You Went out on Your Own
And Set the World on Fire
You Beat the Odds and Won
It Was Your Hearts Desire

Oh to See You Fight
When Things Got in Your Way
I Really Couldn't Ask for More
But There's Something I must Say

Forever I Shall Love You
I Love You like No Other
I Hope You'll Always Need Me
Because I Am Your Mother

Ok Day a Poem For Kathy Who Misses My Almond Tree

Ok. Day

On a day like this
With sunlight
Clear sky and mild breeze

And I know
There will not be a day
Just like this again

There will be other days
Just as good now as the almond
Tree bears fruit.

The way she smiled with her eyes
She smiles for the Lord
