Premium Member The Ides of March -Edited Just Now

(I posted this and found out one line did not rhyme, so I had to adjust the second limerick)

That the Ides of March we should beware
is a quote which is not really fair.
Shakespeare wrote it; it stuck
and it now means bad luck.
Of its meaning few folks are aware!

The Ides of March used to denote
the New Year, and so Shakespeare's quote
might make little sense,
but in his defense -
Ides occurred when Caesar they smote!

“The Ides” of ALL months simply means
the moon is a crescent, but beans
do folks mostly know!
new moons come and go.
The Ides fall in months’ in-betweens!

Premium Member A Poem Just Now Written

a poem just Now written

a poem enters
is recorded and exits..
recorded Now..and
in readings afterward
the reading colors the Now
but not in the colors
of the recorded poem..
yet both the
writing and reading
express the
ever-present Now...

Dark night here
No stars cheer

Moon shines bright
To fling light

A blue glow
Spreads fine show

All looks well
As dusk spells

Late night calm
Spreads cool balm

I lie down
Words now clown

Sleep calls me
Rest sets free

Soul trip hurls
A swift swirl

The Hours Just Now Ended

The day whose hours only a dream ago ended,
Was a test to the grave some men commended,
For seizing any opportunity to push and trip,
Is what men do when they want you off their ship.
The grave is a temptation for sure, but to endure
By moving on, by vowing instead to live more pure,
Far outshines the humiliating lights of evasiveness,
Whose eyes fearing the look of so-called craziness,
Would rather play it safe to make the world flatter.
Flat-landers, fearing bumps too risky to matter,
Huddling in groups with crossed fingers on backs,
Searching the ground for tell-tale signs of cracks,
Prefer cleaning their roads to clearing their minds,
Daily management easier without certain kinds.
The day whose hours a deep hurt now lets go,
Was an exam whose answer I begin to know.
The writing on the wall though merely commenced,
Is the writing of a fall that will not be dispensed,
For this refusal is more then a denial,
But an affirmation of the life I love and smile.

Just Now

Just now we met
Dont talk about leaving now
Just now Ive started to like you
to see the real you
Just now happiness has washed over us
Dont talk about hiding your face now
Just now a new life has started
Dont talk about leaving now
Ive only gotten started.
