There once was a man named Galileo.
To him, scientific knowledge we owe.
He was the brainy inventor
who said, "the earth ain't the center."
I guess that was his basic ideo.

There was a lady named Cleopatra.
She was sad, so I said, "what's the matta?"
"Caesar was stabbed by a brute."
Then, Mark Antony said "You're cute!"
And Cleopatra said, "right back at 'ya."

You may remember Jiminy Cricket.
His puppet said, "I sure like to lick it".
He warned Pinocchio,
"Wherever you may go,
be very careful where you may stick it".

Jiminy Cricket's first lesson for you
is he coulda lived to a hundred two,
but the sign said "don't walk",
so he stood there to gawk.
Now, that's him on the bottom of your shoe.

Christopher Columbus thought the world, round.
The King of Spain, thought his mind, not sound.
The Queen said that what he states
convincingly penetrates.
Chris now has ships to sail the world, around.

Premium MemberJiminy Crickets Great Grandson

Who is he? We asked, for crickets always do.
No idea, but he is smitten with your cousin Lu.
We watched his long legs jump high over the dew.
Wow! We all said, he is a tight jumper too!

He is Jiminy Cricket’s great-grandson Lu told me.
I was stunned, astounded, how could this be?
Jiminy Cricket had been a shrimp, with barely a leg.
I tried to pretend I believed her as I scarfed down an egg.

A Chirping Message From Jiminy Cricket

Brother and sister crickets please recognize grasshoppers,
katydids, and locusts as part of well schooled, politely
ordered named league known as Orthoptera, (pronounced
or th hop tara), which means 'straight wings'), and make
sounds of music for listening pleasure of females.
This method producing shrill tones (generating different songs
for various occasions) occurs by rubbing legs, wings
or other body parts together. Scientists studying
these special insects refer to WhatsApp vibrating,
uber Twittering, and Reddit Shutter flying process as stridulating.
The phonetic simplified syllables uttered as – s try jewel late ting.
Twangy Shap chatting, Kindled Insta gramming, and humming
readiness for hopscotching, skipping to ma Lou. Kickstarter
Hashtag motive (resonates Soundcloud), whereat
musicians meant as swan song. Yelping Joyus Live Pinterest
ting bings trigger warbling created by crimping wings
along teeth at bottom of other wing. A entire playlist
(tunes available for many occasions) only Linkedin to male ensemble.

Jiminy Cricket

I hurt as I feel your anger
I cringe as I feel your wrath
I am not strong enough to stop you
As you travel this dangerous path.
I speak to you every day
 Yet you constantly ignore me.
 Your evil reaches great heights
As the good disappears before me.
 I scream out your name
 As your hand makes contact
 And I'm completely helpless
 In my attempts to distract
You, trying to save you from yourself
 But you're not listening
As your hateful attacks make you sweat
 And has your forehead glistening.
 If I had a heart,
It would go out to her
 As your rapid punches
 Look like frightening blurs.
 Aren't you hurting?
Can you not see her pain?
 This is unbelievable
As I watch you with disdain.
 I'm feeling guilty now
Because I did nothing at all.
I was too weak to prevent you
 From beating your child.

Jiminy

In Beijing, China, there’s a sport
That has a mighty pull.
It’s kind of like a bullfight,
But it doesn’t have a bull.

Competitors get special food
Like shrimp, red beans and liver.
For extra treats, a maggot’s
What the trainer will deliver.

The champions are often those
Whose chirps are really loud.
The most ferocious fighters
Know just how to amp the crowd.

It doesn’t have much danger
Yet excitement runs real high.
They toss the losers to the streets,
But no one has to die.

Contenders draw the gamblers in
And sometimes there’s a raid;
But mostly it’s a wholesome sport
Where moxie is displayed.

In case you haven’t guessed it yet –
And I, too, was amazed,
It’s Chinese cricket fighting,
Leaving fans psyched up and crazed.

Perhaps a lesson can be learned
By watching their approaches,
For surely we can have events
Employing New York roaches!
