I hated him,
fought with him,
threw words sharp enough to cut.
I called him a psycho,
as if he was
and he—
he just nodded,
as if guilt was his to bear.
He took my beatings,
my storms,
without a single strike back.
And when I broke,
when tears came like floodwater,
he didn’t turn away.
He pulled me close,
patted my hair,
and whispered,
“It’s okay… I will be with you.”
That was the moment,
like Tom understanding Jerry,
we stopped being enemies—
and became something more.
Saxophone & sipping cabernet,
toe tapping,
writing away
dancing within dream,
head bobbing.
O those French mots
j’aime. Sax O!
Relax O, merci beaucoup!

jigsaw puzzle Jerry was alone in the world, or so he thought
He found Jeremy, jigsaw snail, as soon as he stopped looking for a friend.
They were happy as friends, wonderful pals who never fought.
Their loyalty and respect for each other never faltered, it never did end.
Ben and Jerry each one of both of them is dumper than the other
Ben and Jerry dump and dumper one of them call the other a sir
hello lovely poets nothing much Tom and Jerry show or showing off
Jerry’s on his holidays
So Tom‘s left all alone
Maybe Spike would be his friend
But Tom can’t find a bone
That great big sleeping bulldog
Often dreams of roasted cat
If Tom Cat wants to be his friend…
Well, best of luck with that
So Tom tapped Spike’s left shoulder
Then he yelped an awful cry
Tom’s tail was chomped and that’s what’s meant
By ‘Let sleeping dogs lie.’
jungle jerry had no real life
one day he flung his suits into the fire
burned silk ties and designer shoes
headed for remote island
where he could simply live
A subtle whisper into my mother’s ear
by my 15-year-old brother Lawrence Dean
and she proclaimed me Jerry Wayne Brotherton
the prettiest baby boy she’d ever seen
Okay, okay, I hear what you are saying
I might have stretched the truth just a little bit
But in my mind, that’s exactly what she said
and it’s my story so I’m sticking to it
Jerry is old English in origin and
diminutive of Gerald (The ruling spear)
In 1941 the name reached its height
but then slowly it started to disappear
Sadly, the name grew less and less popular
until it very nearly became extinct
Unfortunate that I was born sixteen years
after this great name had climbed up to its peak
Alas that set the very tone for my life
whenever it comes to money, fame, or sport
the never-ending motto that will begin
to describe my fate “day late and a dollar short”
Our bodies work just like machines
Without a warranty.
To know how long each part may last
We have to wait and see.
Certain joints may need replacing
And, through surgery or meds,
Organs may require assistance
So we’re not stuck in our beds.
As we age we may not be prepared
To face the well-known fact
That in older bodies, all the parts
Do not remain intact.
Thus we jerry-rig the wires
And replace the triple A’s,
Hoping that will be enough to help
Extend our waning days.
Suave Piano Jerry was playing away on piano keys.
Along came a singer, as sassy as you please.
She plopped down on piano and said I will sing with you.
Her notes were flat, as for melody, she had no clue.
I can be your valentine and follow you from town to town.
Okay agreed Piano Jerry, but for now, please get down.
He wrote out a schedule, which was bogus of course.
For the singer’s voice was worse than a neighing horse.
She remembered where she’d met Jerry.
It had been on a moving ferry,
She journeying to rejoin Kerry,
With whom life was mostly merry.
But Kerry Gangsters would soon bury,
Seal it and there shan’t be Query!
He had their rules broken with Terry;
A loss and she’d kept drinking Perry
And on Not-Stewed Rice: Beri-Beri…
No more appetite for Sweet Cherry
And rather little for Loved Berry…
Jerry could never be Nice Kerry:
One-Thousand-Times A Cheating Lover,
Though, she’d caught him not: Good Cover,
Falsely claiming being often busy
And that Life has not been quite easy...
From Killed Kerry to Cheating Jerry;
She’d continue to curse that ferry!
Tom the Cat has some new amazing ideas up his sleeve.
He is constantly outsmarted by Jerry, a mouse who is his peeve.
He has built a mousetrap guaranteed to get this varmint once and for all.
It is camouflaged like leaves, and about sixteen feet tall.
Tom is confident that he will be eating roasted mouse tonight.
He loves the idea of grilling Jerry up; a tasty rodent delicacy delight.
Jerry has outsmarted him for the last time, he is sure of this.
He chases Jerry into the yard, but alas, something goes amiss.
Tom the Cat ends up in the mousetrap and all the mice are laughing.
He is caught in his own slick idea, while the mice lie down for napping.
What the heck! Why do the animators tease and torment him this way?
He is forlorn and angry again for the remainder of another bad day.
Dear Jerry,
The way you talk down to me is amazing
I am obviously simple, so truly deserve it.
You are surely not this patronizing with everyone.
Just your wives and your children who do not know better.
I never understood before why you have had six wives.
Your courting ways are remarkable. You are a terrific date.
Paying for fancy dinners, and luxurious vacations.
I did not realize it was money your children could have had.
Now that I see you clearly, I feel I must release you.
Give you back to your parents who raised you
To only think of one person.
I hope they allow you to come back.
And will not hold grudges like your horrible ex-wives do.
Feel free to lose my number and my address
as you have pretended to lose your ex-wives' numbers.
I am relieved that I do not have to ask you for child support.
Thank you for never wanting children with me.
I guess six was enough for you.
Sincerely,
Your Ex-Wife who is No Doubt Joining the Horrible Club
Jerry
Comedian rarely contrary.
Among his wacky friends, the voice of reason.
Still he got tossed in jail with them in their final season
Elaine
Confident and vain, she could be a pain.
Although Jerry's ex, she remained his friend,
along with George and kooky Kramer, till the very end.

Written about Seinfeld show, one of my favorite sitcoms

Tom and Jerry
Tom
A shy, hapless cat, often lazy and calm
Defeated with his own tricks by Jerry
Poor Tom seems more fit as a fairy...
Jerry
A spunky, sly mouse, alert, never wary
Awaiting his frenemy, Tom, he will scheme
Yet taunting each other makes them the best team!
