Indention Poems | Examples

in free verse poetry there is a wild freedom
one can write like a bird flying in the sky
metaphors can dance like leaves drifting in the wind
similes can twirl, swirl, and whirl . . .
low case letters and stanza length is quite optional
it can be one lovely twining poem or broken up
I love the use of fragmented lines
and some indention to cause a reader to pause
and best of all free verse fits any theme

but
at times
I like a form
more structured

counting syllables
and maybe even rhyming
to paint a picture . . .
to create a poem sweet
to join all the puzzle pieces
to create beauty . . . .

Indentions

Isn't it funny how indentions work,

the slight indentation of the skin,

a simple red mark fading away after a few still, tranquil moments.

But how bittersweetly the indention on bone leaves a everlasting impact upon the structure. Will I one day dig deep into the depths of this world and scribe upon them my name,

or will I remain a walking collection of ash,

leaving faded footprints in the fell of the world,

Simply waiting for the winds of change to overcome,

and sweep me away,

forgotten among the sands of time,

and lost everlast for all eternity.

Premium Member Fragmented Verse

It is an old dream, brown, crumbling at edges,
best that I leave this old dream undisturbed -
                         I am the dream,
                           it whispers soft.

I wrestle with the covers pushing it away,
but the ghosts of the past still come drifting;
they come like a silent crowd in the night,
so many come to haunt me, maybe forever.

Do other people have these too,
        these frequent nighttime ghost whispers?

                         I am the dream,
                              of your regrets.

Making Love

all night we're grinding,
you're like a roller coaster i'm constantly riding,
my feelings for you i'm no longer hiding,
cause you make me feel like i'm flying,

ever since i felt your gentle touch,
i now long for it so much,

you have the most tender kiss,
and the most beautiful set of lips,
the scratches from your acrylic tips,
leaving marks and indention in my skin,

the texture of your skin is soft,
as i kiss your body with your clothes off,

the way we make love is so passionate,
it's like a drug i just can't quite,
if i lost you love i'd start to trip,
cause you send my heart a blitz,
Form: Rhyme

Hush

"Hush"... I whisper, as I touch my finger to her quivering lips...
I taste her tears as her will slowly slips away...
A cold breeze wanders through the house;
and on the vacant walls, the shadows play...
A warm indention on my empty bed,
reminds me there's nothing left...
There are no more causes or passion now...
There is nothing left to protest...

Desolation

A blooming flower from a concrete crack in the heart of a baron location
A silent hope is sparked within my third eye’s concentration
My thoughts and feelings unify in tandem at this indention
Inspiring me to aid the plight and pronounce this marvelous occasion
I notice you, I notice life, I appreciate this sweet sensation
Brought on by beauty against the odds, I’m filled with joy and elation
If you could whisper in my ear, what would be your dedication?
I long to know true beauty’s song a symbol of unrivaled negotiation
No interference must be allowed, no maiming of proud reputation
I wish to shelter all that’s good and true in reality’s hallucination
Reach for the sun; reach for the stars as I stare in meditation
Your presence here has made me smile, a peaceful, pretty vaccination
So here’s my ode to you dear friend, or call it humble confirmation
Of ever-present love and respect not wavered by intimidation
I admire your courage, your strength, your will to succeed in isolation
In this life so hard, you still stand out, the biggest, smallest inspiration
