Pieces To the Puzzle
in free verse poetry there is a wild freedom
one can write like a bird flying in the sky
metaphors can dance like leaves drifting in the wind
similes can twirl, swirl, and whirl . . .
low case letters and stanza length is optional
it can be one twining poem or broken up
I love the use of fragmented lines
and some indention to cause a reader to pause
and best of all free verse fits any theme
but
at times
I like a form
more structured
counting syllables
and maybe even rhyming
to paint a picture . . .
to create a poem sweet
to join the puzzle pieces
