Time splits up round and round in circles
Sun is searing the Earth with hurtles
How much does our environment change
Heat leads icy decay to assuage

Assuage the sense of loss linked with strife
Change climate setups for better life
Hurtles into the sun, shows prevail
Circles under eyes, and skin turns pale

It sounds amazing to be near strife

splat
all over you
sweet tender
love
turned to stone
pretty angel
you wanted
my ugly truth
my hard history--
--the long bent road
to
what I
pine
yearn
ache
waste away
for
hope it doesn't
crush you
there's a
prince in the beast
and a beast in
the prince
who still believes
fairy tales come true
that a good girl
could be his
even after
especially after
you
take him to dizzying
death defying
rapturous
heights from which
he hurtles
free falling
down, down, down
diving deep
into your
soft
burning heart
then
smack
smitten
splattered
like wily coyote?
pursuing my roadrunner
over a cliff
I leap
with my trusty dusty
rocket pack
does it fire?
--or do I pancake
pick myself up
off the ground
a little damaged
probably
but pretty much
indestructible
I bounce back
into shape
again
and give chase
to a beauty
or maybe
just maybe
"this" ignites
and I
catch you

Running Hare

He keeps airborne, skimming over the grass
defying a specific gravity
of joy or fear.

He hurtles into a tunnel of space ahead.
The land accommodates his passage -
gives way.

A walleyed rapture, a blind bounding
the sky rolls over his whiskers
aiding the hares leaping heart.

He escapes the eye
barreling into nowhere until gone.

A waving grass
ripples into stillness once more,
reclaims the moment
the hare had just fled from.

Premium MemberLunch In the Okeefenochee

Sluggish swamp water seeps through cypress knee
Looking for the reclusive crocodiles now infesting,
Our air boat skims along the edge of Okeefenochee
Where we spy a prehistoric-like alligator ingesting
What appears to be an unwary otter or fox squirrel
Our guide points out a log laden with sunning turtles
With the reptiles in the swamp, we have no quarrel,
As accelerating our speed, the air boat soon hurtles
Until we reach a fairly secluded lush-covered glade
Hoping to see a cottonmouth searching for prey,
After considerable time in the sun, loving the shade
Unfortunately, for the snake the wrong time of day.
Our lunch is ham sandwiches and a frosty cold beer
As our guide points out a meadow-like field ahead,
Where we’ll likely see a smaller herd of mule deer
And, there the ravishing crocodiles waiting to be fed.

Premium MemberThe Ballad of the Slums

The world hurtles on unmindful
Leaving behind those who cannot keep pace
So many are under constant grind
To earn a square meal a day

On deserted streets many roam
Their stomachs empty, their bowels growling
They have nothing to rejoice, only to grieve
For them, joy is an unknown flavor

They too are rightful heirs to Nature’s bounty
Yet fate decrees for them a dismal course!
They are smothered under poverty’s bleak embrace
Over their ashen sky, dark clouds gather round

In dingy make shift dwellings,
Many cram together under tin sheets,
Braving the sun and the inclement weather
Wallowing in dirt and filth with flies for company

They see the stars luminous through cracked roofs
And weave dreams of better times
But soon their dreams go crashing down
Sinking in the knowledge that life is brutally unfair

The callously unfeeling men strut past them
Deaf to their ballads of sad refrain
And their unheard moans die down
In the alleys where darkness strangulates light!

(Their fate often sparks embers of pain in me)

Incandescent Night

Her hair blown in the infernal blast
As the train hurtles pass
hot are the rains rushing past
Falling on an ashen hued metropolis
her form is framed in Furious winds
lightning, as sight transcends this domain
Her hair fair as raven wings
Heat ripples in waves of engines thunder
Into this incandescent night.

Life’s Unexpected Hurtles

We are in a race,
for our very existence.
It is about the idea,
that we are here to live and die,
and die…

Forever is a long time.
God is real.
There is only the truth
of that fact,
You can not escape,
what, is not possible.

On the fence,
“I can think about it later”,
Yet ultimately,
impaled on indecision.
It is the same,
as an eternal end.

Your own life so important,
others so much less.
Your money rising,
your soul losing it’s
viscosity.

The oil that runs a business,
The blood within our veins,
courses to make the dollars,
we clutch closely,
until the shadow of death,
releases our grasp.

Uncontrolled things,
no boundaries, no rules,
Payments made for the repentant,
but not for denial.
You will be alone,
you will be with others,
you will wish that,
you were not.

Kismet

kismet

A strange sound in the village, not an alarm
It went on in short intervals
Perhaps they were tasting something we
We were not a part of.
After some time, the sound went on me
Nerves it frightened me it was
The doom-laden telling of times to come when
Our world is aflame and hurtles through space
And all gold melts.
Ashes to ashes that is the way it goes

Premium MemberOn the Wall

On the wall standing

Amidst the danger encroaching

Mirrors the alligator’s razors

Securely entrenched in mud waiting

A boa slides into the deep...

The seconds tick amicably.

A table for two served yet again

Another tango about to be untangled

Periodic busts of water

Jet from the sighing sea...

A canoe capsizes

In this noonday medley

A suckling amidst the troubled current

Heads gaily for the sea’s bed...

Another scene, the serene sea

Running a sapid gold hue

Allows a fluttering dove above admiringly

To the nonchalant glare

In the distant horizon

Of the setting sun.

Afar the mongrels howl

At grotesque elements from hade...

Suddenly Andromeda hurtles through the sky

In search of her Medusa-defeated lover

Provoking Hercules into a riotous laughter

As its echoes furious might does Atlantis in...

Back in the fifties
America seemed much calmer
McCarthy's commie blacklists
Sputnik's shocking launch
Ike's wife Mamie so sedate
That pre-historic hairdo

World War Two over
We needed some time to heal
Alan Ginsburg penned his 'Howl'
Chuck Berry goosed his walk
The West Wing conservative
White House picket-fence painted

Boom! an explosion
Cultural revolution
Sixties' deaths brought us down
Hendrix, Morrison
Jackie became Onassis
Where's JFK's Camelot

Seventies came, went
Eighties crashed, burned, flamed out too
But Jerry Rubin's Wall Street
Greed ruled the Nineties
Internet changed all of us
The world at a click-click-click

New Millenium
Rapid change hurtles forward
People do change, however
Shootings dot landscape
Retreat into our smartphones
Loneliness Unconnected

Now the Age of Trump
Rears its flame-orange mane and screams
Me-too Movement gains traction
Women come forward
Teen suicide rate rises
Society imperiled

Reef

The moon,
Just past full,
Calls down to the coral.
   Lunar ballad pierces
Sea’s briny top soil.
Amorous chords
Penetrate past clown fish
Past pygmy sea-horses
Past the anemone’s crown of thorns
Into the stony castle’s womb
Igniting a blizzard torrent of gametes,
 Kaleidoscopic confetti
Hurtles toward the surface
Reaching. touching, meeting
Achieving consummation
 In the undulating reflection of
The moon.

Premium MemberA Sunny Good Morning

He puts on his brave mask, oozing CONFIDENCE
Walks with a SWAGGER in his gait, tilted FORWARD
SMILES broadly, whistling a HAPPY tune, as he
GREETS perfect strangers with a sunny 'GOOD MORNING'

Takes his accustomed seat on the train; views the
FINANCIAL news to scan the CRUCIAL developments
In the world of BUSINESS, his world, as he HURTLES
DOWNTOWN, to the land of SKYSCRAPERS, those

MAGNIFICENT monoliths, bastions of WEALTH and security
Now BRIMMING with enthusiasm, he EXUBERANTLY opens
The door to HIS OFFICE, logs on views his emails -- What's
this? -- "You've been replaced by a robot. HAVE A NICE DAY!"

You and Us

Where do i begin and where do you end
The distance between us outwards not expansive enough to hold our love
Molecules and atoms dance dizzly round us
Rain slows as it hurtles toward the earth to glimpse this love
Sunlight tendrils softly caress our bodies
Specks become mountains, oceans swell and swirl
and time counts its second
All life ends but my love continues
And staring deep into her universal eyes
My soul smiles.

Happiness Hurtles Along

Happiness harvested from whims and wishes
Happiness flashed and hushed in fetishes
Serves and preserves no benefits
As ventures and adventures yield no profits.

Happiness at the behest of behemoths
Happiness shone by fireflies to moths
Deludes and alludes to fantasies
Twisted and wasted in idiosyncrasies.

Happiness surrendered to vagaries of vagabonds
Happiness harnessed in split seconds
Yields and shields no fields of permanence
Caught up in lumpen luminescence.

Happiness hewed from hornets’ nests
Happiness skewed in pockets of pests
Detests texts and contexts of honesty
Swamped and dumped in humps of travesty.

Sugar In the Gantry

how do i complete thoughts?
greet and free drops
diving undivided
to keep the peace hot
high priest
once fleeced
we meet
a sly fox
what is this beast?
eat some frylocks
weep the beat box
and bleed the pure stock
feed the whole spot
creep on your blog
beef steak, eat and chief
break me from the bittersweet
taken on a higher state
i will partake full on particles
nitty gritty didnt have me
shed me of all my articles
sugar in the gantry
vermin in the pantry
the scantily clad
circling my panting
hurtles getting fancy
answer is drunken dancing
cash advancing
and crowds happily chanting
davin is everlasting
drinking water with my wine
only one that was a father of mine
never run out of giving a piece of mind
armored in my think tank
sharks or really cheapskates?
pie charts and a sweet cake
coffee or a tea break
never dull in the east bay
tech giants and a little free base
