Relinquishing will, slowing down thought flow,
stripped of desire, presence yet pulsates,
alive, aglow, aflame with bliss,
resplendent in its own light,
standing without support,
thus divine entwined,
vibrant and poised,
grazed by grace
in the
void.
Staid
silence
enables
discovery
of our inner light,
innate and eternal,
reverberating in heart;
soundless thunder in renewal,
being but the breath of God of course,
beseeching our soul to return back home.

Would you walk from east to west
Or vice-versa, there and back
Would you take the smooth highway
Or the lesser used old track
Of course there are other ways
For travelling far and wide
It's all found in the journey
And on what one will decide
Some days you'll be far away
And you may wake up alone
But you'll find a direction
As you meander and roam
The footprints you follow
Are from histories renowned
They will guide you truly
As you are heading homeward bound

As we harness Fate’s wild winds to our lee
While navigating Life’s troublesome sea,
We become flanked by Scylla and Charybdis
With only our life experience to guide us.
Yet try we do, and we sail on through,
Life’s rocky straits where others can't save us.
Before muddling on through Atropos swirling brew,
Knowing we’ll lose many close friends around us.
As we sail homeward like the hero Odysseus
Who plied forward through Life’s trials and mess,
We yearn for gentler and glassier seas,
While trying to remain Life's protagonist.

May our loved ones always light up our lives... And our way in the dark....and may we always find our way home no matter how far we roam.
Homeward bound
By Michelle Morris
21/04/2020
I am like a ship
Sailing out at sea;
I am homeward bound,
Wild and free.
No matter how
Far I roam,
Every adventure
Leads me
Back home.
For our loved ones
Are our greatest
Freedom;
To love completely
Without reason.
They allow our
Wildest hopes
To bloom
And keep us
Focused on the
Moon.
Rising up no
Matter the dark,
Knowing our
Loved ones
Are starry sparks.
Lighting our way,
Homeward bound;
Love beyond
The horizon,
Expanding in time.

It’s been a long time since we talked, many days have passed
A bitter road I have walked but those days won’t last
For I had lost my way in a test that I always fail
As I forgot to pray and thus this story of that tale
The pandemic had come causing my routine to change
But to all of this I was numb as it didn’t even feel strange
As each day had passed my new routine became the same
Seemed I put Jesus last and in this I felt pretty lame
But I was stubborn in my way, towards the Lord I was defiant
I wanted things my way and missed every sign He sent
But I knew something was missing because I felt it in my heart
And so I began wishing for simply a brand new start
Remember the prodigal son, the Father ran to him upon his return
Well I finally said I’m done as Jesus told parables that we would learn
So as the new year rang in
I decided to return Home
Resolute in conquering all my sin
There’s no longer any need to roam

Homeward Bound
I didn’t know, for it didn’t show for so many years.
The slowing steps, the memory gaps
The creeping years gone by.
Then one day, it came my way
The mirror doesn’t lie
It’s that woman whose wrinkles keep coming
Asking where and when, and why.
Memories fade, eyes become glazed
Only secret thoughts remain
When age overtakes us, and families forsake us,
What is left to gain?
Then bright lights meet us, and loving arms greet us,
And then we are home again.

I’m thinking of all my stuff
What to bring and what to leave
I have my tickets in my hand
Back to the place where I first stand
I wish now, I was Homeward –bound….
Home, where my thoughts are running wild
Like a coaster of a ride…
Fearless thoughts are hounded in my mind
I wish now, I was homeward-bound…
Home, where I can lay my head on a ground
Crawling, rolling over on the sand
Like a baby that needs a caring mom…
Two-weeks more I’m counting now
My days and nights are not so right
Sickness strikes and thoughts are wild
I wish now, I was homeward-bound…

I fight nightmares of Snowmageddon fright.
I write a text message, that all’s not right.
Tucked in tight traffic, simmering twilight.
Frozen snow white streets – overwhelming plight.
Tires stuck in icy bite, no bed tonight!
All night abandonment – home out of sight.

*simmering – to be filled with a strong feeling that is difficult to control

For Craig's contest Music by Marta Keen
By Your Side
INTRO
I know you think, I've gone and left you
Leaving tears to fill your eyes
I would never leave you darling
For you and I, there's no goodbyes
There's a fate that does await us
It's a fate, we can't denied
But as long, as I can love you
I'll be forever by your side
The clock was ticking, and we knew it
Time was never on our side
But true love shall last forever
and in its realm we shall abide
I will rest here in the meadow
Before I join you in the sky
And I promise that forever
I'll be yours and you'll be mine
I know for now, we share a sorrow
And in our hearts a certain pain
But we must look towards the morrow
To be together once again
The clock was ticking ,and we knew it
Time was never on our side
But true love shall last forever
and in its realm we shall abide
I will rest here in the meadow
Before I join you in the sky
And I promise that forever
I'll be yours and you'll be mine
I'll be yours and you'll be mine

Hovering over the Lonesome Plane,
My spit a solace for a thirst,
Comes the razing Shines-Feet and Ghost hostily entrailed.
Will I Somehow,Someday My rest acclaim?
Right in the Jungle the scary Soul.
Thick and thin my back like a Machete steers;
Rumblings and Chanting my stillness sped,
Slipping through the Crystals of the Clefts;
Highs and Lows the Slimes My Footsteps shove,
Seems my bloods I descry.
Rustlings and Bangings seem friendlier;
Barks and hustles the clearer way prove;
Nearer now,the tunes clearly sung,
Warmest the applauds that bid My widest thrills.

I‘d have climbed the highest mountain
I’d have swum the deepest sea
Just to see your face my darling
This was just a dream for me
How the years they have flown by
Since you left my heart to break
I was left with such a longing
Of the love you did forsake
We had talked about our future
That together we’d grow old
You got charmed by another
And you left our happy home
I am old and I am weary
And my hair is streaked with grey
Just to see your face my darling
This is all that I can pray
Many years I tried to find you
But my search it was in vain
You’d got married and had children
And you’d changed your maiden name
I’d have climbed the highest mountain
I’d have swum the deepest sea
Just to win you back my darling
It was never meant to be
Now I’ve found you live in heaven
And are free to love once more
All I pray that when my time comes
You’ll be waiting at the door
You’ll be waiting at the door

I can see you in the mountains,
In the valleys, on the shore.
I can see you in my dreamscape.
Won’t you smile for me once more?
I can feel you when the wind blows.
You are strong and always near.
I can feel you in the sunlight,
Burning brightly for all my years.
I must say.
Can I tell you?
There are times
I’m alone.
And I pray
That you’ll come back here
And you’ll finally take me home.
Fourteen years now I have missed you,
Missed the way you part my hair,
Missed the way you called me “lovely,”
I have missed you, mother dear.
You are often in my thoughts now
As I ready for the day
That I soon will be a mother
For your guidance, now I pray.
Teach me how
To be stronger,
To be pure,
And love like you.
Teach me how to tell my daughter
She comes from angels, thanks to you.
I will show her where to find you
In the flowers by the tree,
In the sunset and the moon shine,
Inside her and inside me.
I am here
I am ready
To love her
As you loved me
To give hope and peace and laughter
In our cottage by the sea.
The same fine home, you gave to me.

Through the valley, I walk steadfast
with the Lord's hand holding mine,
and He guides me and He saves me
when my path, I cannot find.
With the love
of my Father,
I can face each new day.
With His grace,
I’m lifted higher,
as He parts my skies of gray.
In the valley, wild flowers
meet my path where blue skies shine.
Some are new blooms, some are fading,
What a blessing, every life!
Through the valley, I walk steadfast
with the Lord's hand holding mine,
and He guides me and He saves me
when my path, I cannot find.
With the love
of my Father,
I can face each new day.
With his grace,
I’m lifted higher,
as He parts my skies of gray.
When I stumble, there's a mountain
rising in a golden sky.
At my journey's end, I’ll praise Him
on that mountain of pure light.
With the love
of my Father,
I can face each new day.
With his gift,
I’m lifted higher,
as He parts my skies of gray.
Oh, He clears my skies of gray.
