A bluebird came streaking violently out of Central Park,
it blurred over the lanes of traffic towards 220.
I flinched in anticipation of the impact,
but at the last second it darted directly up,
as if caught in a sudden wind current.
“Did you see that?” I asked Lisa.
She didn’t, her phone was jiggling.

My boyfriend left yesterday
He had to leave before New Year’s eve!
he has to work and cannot play
he finally gets to run the hadron collider
go get em’ tiger
but I’ve decided
you can’t fight the zeitgeist
that when the cats away
the girls will have their day.

Someone start the music please,
because it’s NEW YEARS Eve!

Happy New Year’s Eve everyone!

Holiday Seasons Cheers

Season of giving is here for all
naughty or nice it does not matter
fun laughter joy and a lot of chatter
singing in front of a tree so tall

Season of cheering is here for all
bringing in the new year with fun
no matter the location, it is done
raising glasses as count down call

Two holidays where most come together
holiday season that brings the most cheer
no matter the choice; spirit, wine, or beer
unity out weighs any forecasted weather

Being present during the holiday gatherings
for those who enjoy the holidays cheer for all
potlucks only, but most stomachs take the fall
same time next year in if anyone's wondering.

GOOD THOUGHTS

Singing Aud Lang Syne was a fad
Everyone singing was very glad
Thinking of the times that past
Hoping that the good times last
My good thoughts were of my dad

Premium MemberTime and Time Again

Time and time again
I have made it here,
Said goodbye to the old
And welcomed a new year

No top hats, no noisemakers
No champagne or wine,
Just the purest notes
... Of 'Auld Lang Syne'

So, what am I doing ...
New Year's, New Year's Eve?,
Celebrating the little things
... I did achieve

Staying awake comes easily
Until the midnight hour,
Watching the ball drop
And the confetti shower

Time and time again
The countdown is done,
Out with the old, in with the new
Five, four, three, two, one!

Melt the frost from my winter-loving heart.
A mood storm fueled by the vibe of charm.
Petals under mistletoe promise by the blurt.
Winter's stillness engulfed me as a swarm.

A mood storm fueled by the vibe of charm.
In the rubble you left me in, there was a candle.
Winter's stillness engulfed me as a swarm.
A burst of hope faded while poised for a mantle.

In the rubble you left me in, there was a candle.
Flowers and inlay have stood as the year goes.
A burst of hope faded while poised for a mantle.
However, only God's eyes never tend to close.

Flowers and inlay have stood as the year goes.
Whimsey in the midnight, solace amid sorrow.
However, only God's eyes never tend to close.
Peace in the dusk, balm as my brows furrow.

Whimsey in the midnight, solace amid sorrow.
Petals under mistletoe promise by the blurt.
Peace in the dusk, balm as my brows furrow.
Melt the frost from my winter-loving heart.

A Responsible Beginning

This is the night to bring in a new year
You might want to celebrate with some beer
That is quite all right
As long as you have someone sober drive tonight
Drinking and driving is not cool
At best, you would drive like a fool
Don’t be one of those that drink and drive
The two just don’t jive
You could end up in jail
Causing someone to pay your bail
You could total your car
Once you leave the bar
You could get hurt
So, let someone drive that is alert
You could hurt someone
Who could be a stranger or a loved one
You could die
Causing loved ones to cry
You could kill someone
As a result of what your drunk driving has done
Then you would spend time in prison
While mourners wear red ribbons
This is all avoidable
As long as you drink responsible

Holiday Stress
Miracle Man
1/14/2022

Christmas and New year finds life upside down,
digging up old bones always induce my frown.
Though thinking of Jesus, the past I also see,
today, I sit musing, perhaps the problem is me.

This time of year while thoughts are on giving,
my list grows faster than the cost of living.
I strive each day to remember each blessing,
but the holidays just seem to leave me stressing.

Robo calls, emails and snail mail each day,
disrupt my life, and for stopping, I’ve no say.
From open hands come cries, once more to give,
money disappears, like water through a sieve.

The fix I’m found in is entirely of my making,
and those I refuse, the answer no, they’re not taking.
Is this the new norm in which I must exist,
Some stamp envelopes “final notice”
thinking I won’t resist.

Over the course of my lifetime several bad/unpleasant things have happened during the Christmas/New Year time frame which are always remembered. Also, I find it hard to say no;
so those I help, give/sell my name to others.
What a deal! Everyone feels entitled to a slice of my pie.

Kiss Me At Midnight
David J Walker

Ring out the old
Spill into the streets and strain to see
The new year rise with the commemorative sun
In your eyes

See if your name is listed
in the everyday agenda
of the new year

It’s next year somewhere said
The News-man with the spayed hair
on the
75-inch Video Screen

Do me a Party Favor and
Kiss me at Midnight
		Hold me tight and
Make me love you more
in that brand new moment
the annual renewal of an original event
They have paper hats now for everything

Tell me you believe everything will be better
With a new calendar
Tell me you can foresee the coming weeks
Of better days without end
How quickly may we dismiss and forget
The past year
Will you be my reminder not to
Remember
Will you consent to be my kinder
Gentler future

(Senryus)

I've never had a
new years kiss, or an under
the mistletoe kiss.

But I have had
Hersey's kisses - which I think
are spectacular!

New Year

At 12:00 it struck, brining in the New Year
With so many people it was a fear
With no masks on at all
The mayor made a quick call
To cancel this year, until next year

Our Best Year Ever

As 2019 comes to a close
it’s time to reflect and put away those
memories of good times and
sometimes bad,
memories of happy and
when we were sad.
To the future let’s look -
to a shiny, New Year,
full of hope and potential
of joy and good cheer.
We may even start the
New Year out broke,
but where there’s a future
there is always hope.
Hope for improvement
in our circumstances,
Hope for opportunity
and taking new chances.
There’s nothing that we
cannot achieve
if we hold onto hope and
in ourselves just believe.
So, for the year 2020,
my hope is for you
to reach your potential
in everything you do!
Let’s meet back here
in exactly one year
and share our successes
I can’t wait to hear!

I wish everyone a very successful and Happy New year!
