Premium Memberhitchhiking to mars

We’ll hitchhike to mars
on a rocket not a car,
so say your au revoirs.

We’ll steer towards Polaris, the north star
right through the center of the milky-way-bar.
See, the universe is dark and chocolatey.

Stars that glitter like multi-faceted gems,
are just shiny, yellow, peanut M&Ms,
take a handful, if you’d like, they’re free.

We’ll dodge the silhouetted moon,
which is made of enough coconut macaroon,
to make a French confectioner swoon.

As we go streaking, like a comet’s tail,
drag a finger through Saturn’s rings as well,
those are made of marshmallow.

We’ll pass nebulae made of cotton-kandi,
and here’s a fact Einstein would have found handy,
the speed of light doesn’t apply to candy.

The Highway

The Highway

Bob Dylan, B. Marquardt-Alexander, Joan Baez

The Highway

The highway's a river, I'm a leaf adrift,
Tumbling, tumbling, no solid shift.
The canyon's son, a blessing I crave,
But I'm lost at sea, a soul to be saved.
Sunlight a mirage, a distant gleam,
Where mountains fade, a forgotten dream.
Rolling hills, a sepia tone,
A classic date, a love all alone.

Epic Road Trip

When Sam was broke, young, and foolish
He hit the road hitchhiking across the U.S.
Getting rides from cars, trucks, and buses
Going down the freeway and back highways
And occasionally in a city
Watching a tram passing by
Thinking perhaps
I'd rather ride a train

Hitchhiking Tales

When I was a young man
 I was foolish
and not afraid of anything

In the summer of 1975
I took a Greyhound bus
across the country
when my bus pass was stolen

I hitchhiked
 across the country
and for two and 1/2 months
I traveled across the country

meeting all sorts of very strange people
experiencing the underbelly of American Society
now that I am 65
and I think back upon those days
I am horrified
that I did that

because now that I'm old man
I'm much more prudent
and much more careful
and much more afraid

but back then
being young and foolish
I did what a lot of young
and foolish people do

boldly go into the world
without a plan
just seeing where life took me
that made all the difference
in the world

Hitchhiking Out of Teslin

Hitchhiking out of Teslin
Gary,
 Gary,
Gary
I could have been somebody Gary.
I was going to law school Gary.
Why do you smoke weed Gary?
It makes you stupid Gary,
Do you want to go through life being stupid Gary?
Gary hunched down like he was being physically pummelled, he looked right, left, right again. Trapped.
He was driving, she shotgun, kid in the middle.
I yell from the back seat,
 Garry,
 Garry,
 Garry,
Put your foot into it Gary!

Hitchhiking To Heaven

I did not promise you thick and thin
Just look at the shape your in

I’ve got road to be
Farther down

There a circus passing thru
That needs another clown

Aren’t you the one?
Cool tattoo, Bucket of rum

No restrictions on my addictions
Starting at seven and hitchhiking to heaven . . .

Premium MemberHitchhiking Alone

Did you leave your heart

Sitting beside life's highway

Hitchhiking alone?
