A simple roof to shield from wind and rain,
A tranquil house devoid of stress and strain
Where the flashes of faith and love do shine,
Renders a home the shrine of the divine.
No need for ocean of wealth, grand and vast,
But a peaceful spirit fostered to last,
Harvesting joy, strolling beneath the sky,
Staring at sparkling stars slowly slide by.
To use simple bricks homes to build, isn`t shame,
So it`s with words we choose, verses to frame,
No need for pompous, grandiloquent art
To touch the innermost depth of the heart.
Simple words cutely used sparkle delight,
Illuminate the common mind with light,
In humble verses, the inner self gleams,
Reflecting life's limpid lingering dreams.
High sounding verbiage sounds harsh to ears,
Grips the mind of the bulk of souls with fears~
Simplicity isn`t mediocrity,
But the mirror of true humility.
High-spirited sports car enthusiasts, burning rubber
and speeding in the wind. Motorcycle lovers, making
high-sounding noises. Birds singing by day; crickets
by night. Fight off the mosquitoes, wasps, and
all creatures desiring the insides. In heat and
humidity, stay highly hydrated. Drink a lot,
stick with water and soft drinks but stay away
from the hard stuff. Be happy and be wedded,
but also, be wise. Catch a fast plane; be safe
and go far. Or take a slow train and enjoy
the terrain. Her name is Summer, a relative
of April and friends with June and August.
Going kayaking or will you fight the water rapids?
Stay-cations are out; vacations and family reunions
are back. For many a year, the roads always took me East.
But this year, my family is beckoning me to come North.
“Wars and rumors of wars” – the Bible says
That being so, then we should not be surprised
When selfishness and greed are bubbling over
When covetous, malicious, power-hungry leaders
Bring the entire world to the brink of disaster.
We need always be prepared for the next one
For they will come, surely, as the sun rises and sets
Despotic-minded individuals will seek positions
With no regard for their country’s well-being
Ordinary folks being merely dispensable pawns.
Beware deceivers who say what you want to hear
Cloaked in high-sounding platitudes of patriotism
For it’s possible the next time our country may fall
To perversions of principles we have long cherished
Once gone, they cannot be restored in our lifetime.

Poetry is intended for restlessness,
too much sweetness drives away poetry...
You can be pregnant with ideas,
stocked with what is benefit and write
emotionally without stoppage,
but the unusual metaphor is missing...
to the one that outlines the poetry...
Behold, the singing of joyful countries
it's sad...
The singing of sad countries is content...
There then lies the poetry that reflects
what the soul does not sight...
Poetry is not sympathetic text
in pretty words that appear
always full of emotions... and with
melodramatic sweetness... lack the
high-sounding that the Greeks call Beauty,
when the imagery that materializes the mystery is lacking,
only through metaphor or metonymy,
it subverts the original meaning,
gaining in breadth and beauty...
That and poem with poetry...
The word has to come dressed as a party
the poetry is dressed in the real fantasy
that the figure of speech contains...
Poetry is immaterial...!
I view it as unseemly to use high-sounding language to make an impression.
I perceive it to be ostentatious to marshal words vainglorious in succession.
It is a determinant of consternation, if not constipation, to be so assaulted.
Obsessive practitioners of linguistic pomposity presume they are self-exalted.
Whom [note proper objective case usage] do they fathom they are deceiving?
Do they inaugurate imaginations veined by vanity that I am them believing?
I desire a day when poets dispossess themselves of verbiage of pretension
And with exemplary expediency abandon exotic words they need not mention.
Poets aspiring to perfection should endorse this humble verse unreservedly,
Or have their word-overworked works consigned to anonymity deservedly.
It all began when the blind seers
Took the step and trusted their sight.
It was dark, the night was cold,
The storm had dropped, places were damp
When the torch-bearers brought their light.
Their words were warm, their speeches tuned.
That was all it took to steal some hearts.
Yet, just before the fowl could yawn,
A little before the dark could bleach,
Away they bolted with everything;
Walking sticks, clothes, shoes and all.
But the seers didn’t see that coming
Since they be not like those
That do see with their ears
And trust not in high-sounding words.
I have always known
That you are interested in me
And I would fall in love with you
That we would be together in this place at this time
That I would feel exactly this way about you
That once I say yes there’s no saying no to you
That this thing we have would end in sizzling romance
I have always felt pulled to the aura of your majestic presence
Those Strong arms of yours would wind round my waist some day
Mesmerized by your great speeches
The lyrics, harmony and richness of your words and voice
I have always been taken breathless by
The beauty and depth of your creativity
Lured by the vastness of your wealth and measureless influence
Fascinated by your high-sounding and influential names
Awed by the company you keep
Amazed by those who daily seek your favours
Impressed with your smooth operations
Ever from the first time I met you
I have found you ever so irresistible
As a young-man with no pimpled heart, but dimpled face
I have always known LORD JESUS!
That you and I would be in love for ever
That I would be yours to keep forever
