I have no beef with your God
(unless it's The Golden Calf)
who they may say
works in mysterious ways
but I take umbrage at those who claim
to speak on his or her behalf
and here's a laugh
'No graven image' was handed down
yet they're here there and everywhere
all over town
I roam through the forest,
weary from the wandering,
when a whisper in the wind
said, Lift your eyes and listen.
And the morning broke around me
with a mercy made of gold~
a slow, shining solace
that settled upon my soul.
I felt the Father’s nearness
in the silence between my heartbeats,
felt His light lean low
to gather what was lost.
He said, Child, I have carried you
through shadows you don’t remember;
I have held you in the hollows
where hope had almost fled.
So I opened all my aching
to the sweetness of His presence,
and the sorrow I had stored
began to soften into song.
Now I walk within His wonder,
with a fire that never falters,
with a faith that keeps unfolding
like a dawn that will not dim.
And I sing because He saved me,
and I rise because He raised me,
and I shine because His Spirit
brings light into my bones.
Hallelujah to the Holy One,
hallelujah for His healing,
hallelujah for His holding,
hallelujah for the love that brings me home.

alone disavowed

are leaping over me
they’re coming down
the jewels of a crown
hallelujah

and I’m crushing them
descending, ascending
and I’m grooving,
hushed at the sound of

hurray, my legs hurt
in just the right way
what a great payday
the parchments of ink
that infuse from the gates
of heaven, I sink
into the scurry of tulip,
maple and birch
and I raise my hands
and my eyes do glow

We sing and shout and chase that "Gold"
We make claims that "All" are Brothers
But "Temples" aren't just bought or sold
They're paid with the "Blood" of others
We dance the "Dance," then change our stance
While traveling down the "Bi-Way"
For those we "Bleed," no second glance
Down the "Hallelujah Highway!"
Although there is sunshine you yet Stand in the Rain;
It's soul unusual purposeful even in the pain;
There is a great among you from your belly you call out the name;
Holy-Wholly Glory Jesus Hallelujah
Impregnated with the peace the joy and love;
Harvest is plentiful time to pick the plentiful;
So alluring so adorning His Mercy for Grace;
I can see the gratitude and the salvation all over your face;

Quietly the whispers in our sleep;
Somber in stillness, winter sweeps
All the Angels around us

Glitter and misery on the dance floor
a locked pop remix of ‘Hallelujah’
holding a glowing lantern on lux life
yet it’s a frozen priceless kind of art
devoid of soul or any gentle touch
so structured a sway will intoxicate
you get lost inside of a perfect form
as soon as you give in to emotion
maybe you go higher maybe you sink
all that matters is authenticity
feather boas and snarky silhouettes
A dance floor sparkles with disdain
