The day has no meaning without the rain.
Luscious, dark clouds awaken life in me.
The smell of a storm brings peace within.
Admiring the sound of the drops crashing onto different surfaces.
The day has no meaning without the rain.
Time slowing down expressing gratitude toward this Earth cleansing experience.
This outburst from above feels like home on my skin.
Hoping deluge will stay, but aware blue skies will return.
The day has no meaning without the rain.
Stormy night on a haunted street
All night, the sun and the rain compete
When dawn breaks, the people crowd together
To observe all the terrors
Committed by nightfall
The horror and disgust
On the children's faces
Kicking through all the dust
To see the obscure places
The people go home
The streets becomes tranquil, calm
The gray sky sets in

written words by James Edward Lee Sr. 2019
The heavy snow falls, as if to start winter again
And with flurries of flakes, return worries from then
Twirling life in a spinning circle of never ending things
Old resolutions sought again, a repeat of days gone by
While grasping for the beauty on decorated branches
Covered with delicate lining, reaching across the hills
As if the answers will be there, laced perfectly in white
Written boldly to see, to bring peace beneath gray skies

gray skies
threatening winter rains
again would
brush the clouds from the sun
but can't move the wind
There it was, skies so gray
Oh how I wish to see the sun
For much joy it brings me in the day
That I might choose to run
And in these days of the dark cloud
I seem to find light
But only to be covered up by the looming shroud
Thus I muster up my might
And return to the days of the sun-lit skies
As the shadow of darkness is no more
For this I am reassured as the eagle flies
So by this, sadness strikes my core
For the dark days opened my heart’s gate
And this I value more than love and hate
metal gray sky
over a white sandy beach --
a rainbow arcs
