I represent the black, green and gold.
Out of many, we are one people, driven to succeed
Global excellence is our only mission to achieve.
Reggae and dancehall are the rhythm and beat in our feet
Only champions are born here
Marley, Louise Bennett and Bolt are all homegrown.
With blood, sweat and tears, we work hard for our own …this is the Jamaican way.
I come from a great nation, with people of strength and determination. I am proud to call myself Jamaican.
We move to one love and drink our Jamaican white rum …this is the land we love.
The aroma of blue mountain coffee mixed in the morning air, the taste of ackee and saltfish with a little roast breadfruit are heavenly delights only a Jamaican can understand, the national dish of our homeland.
Look at our smiles we celebrate 60 years in grand style.
No matter where we are, yard or abroad with heads held high we are proud to call ourselves Jamaicans.
We celebrate Jamaica's 60 years of independence by re-igniting our greatness within all who call themselves Jamaicans.

In society, he is graceless
As he is totally peace less
His hope is less and less

Your riches, bad expenses reduce

Be happy and live in a grand style
Pray ever, not once in a while

It gives you a Universal pass
Pray and win by avoiding loss
Enjoy life and obey all laws!
I reminisce, I miss
the sound of the stair lift that brings you down,
and your voice as you ask for morning coffee,
mother, the silence is too harsh to bear!
the half knit cardigan that is on your bed,
needles still attached as if you left halfway,
mother, we know you won’t be coming back.
that chair in front of me that you would take,
and rubbing your palms would talk to me,
mother, the cat sits there awaiting your return.
your room is unkempt, things as you left,
I do not have the heart to go in there,
mother, I promise, I shall tidy up today!
today would have been your 90th birthday,
we had plans to celebrate in a grand style,
mother, we have tear drops with cake today.
you glow in us brighter than anytime before,
memories are precious our hearts still sore,
mother, on your birthday,

I reminisce, I miss poetry competition

They boarded the mighty ship on a fateful trip
And waved to those ashore who craved a last goodbye,
The ship set sail without fail as champagne they did sip
The vessel's might was their delight, what could go awry?
They had it all, the sea was theirs they had no fears
They ate caviar from the bar and dined in grand style
Clinked their glasses with the lasses as they shouted 'cheers'
But soon they'd find that fate's unkind, and full of guile
They didn't think the ship could sink
With pomp and pride they took the ride
But mightier than it was the iceberg they hit
'Twas then they knew that out of the blue they'd be captives of the tide
With lifeboats few they got a clue
That Davy Jones would keep their bones,
In the sea, they would forever be, relics of the blue
And people wailed for the ship that failed, how mighty were its groans

One night each week, we courting couples meet
to share our poetry and chat a while.
This time we’ll all enjoy a special treat.
Romantic sonnets sure to make us smile
and swoon will be recited in grand style.
Though not part of the beatnik “misfit” crowd,
we’re nonconformists--in just one respect.
Our venue is a grassy field! We’re proud
to have this spot that many would reject,
this place where kindred spirits can connect.

H-as quenched the reader's thirst;
I-t fully feeds the hungry heart,
E-arly January thirty-first.
E-xpressed poems in grand style
B-righten the darkest day;
U-sing sublime sentence and phrase,
E-liminating the blue and gray.
N-ice verses and lofty lines lead you to a sweetest smile;
G-reat feeling of love is brought by weaving words in grand style.
Seek a calm spot,
Sit still with ease;
Now close eye slots,
Stillness funds peace.
Abide here now,
Breathe wholesome cheer;
Yes you know how,
Purge away fear.
No need to rush,
Sip your calm poise;
Feel a light brush,
Watch your soul voice.
Watch and wait here,
Each moment tells;
Discern deep cheer,
Feel how soul dwells.
Heed that fine hint,
A still small voice;
Feel grace now mint,
Forge a clear choice.
Rest just a while,
In silence still;

since I was young.

From Ballet class
to tap.

Moving to NYC,
and starting hip hop.
Pop it,

Then, the grand style,
Broadway, like the show girls (just for 8+ year olds)
High
Kick,

suck in your stomach for the Nutcrackers.
