Premium MemberBlack Hole

Yesterday was two weeks
Two weeks since my son
was pronounced brain dead

How am I alive?
how have I worked this week?
how has the black hole of grief
inside me not taken over completely?

I have driven, I have operated the stove,
I have functioned adequately at work
but there are times that time seems to stop
and I go to a place in my mind where
the pain is so big and raw and all encompasing
it feels like I stop being..............

So has two weeks gone by?

How am I here?

How do I live on?

Too Hard

Technology’s too hard for me;
My brain won’t let it stick.
I can be taught a thousand times
But nothing seems to click.

I would have functioned better
Living many years ago
When everything I’d learned would be
The most I’d need to know.

Today, when I see upgrades
I begin to shake and sweat.
Do I download? Do I upload?
If you tell me, I’’ll forget.

On my iPhone or computer,
If a problem comes to me,
There’s no way for me to solve it;
Same applies to my TV.

Give me paper and a pencil
And I’ll have an easy time
Using what’s left of my brain cells
To set simple thoughts to rhyme.

candlelight and romance

Candlelight and Romance

Suddenly, Portugal was flung into darkness
electricity stopped, and nothing functioned
anymore, credit cards were useless
and those types of cards were the norm as
people carried little cash in their wallets
the day was wounded, walked unsteadily
towards evening, few had thought of
buying candles, the town of Cascais was
fearful and quiet
Having lived for many years in the outer
corners of the countryside where the supply
often failed, was prepared, we had candles
and means to light them
The evening was quite romantic; we sat on
the sofa held hands, telling stories from
our youth, it was almost a disappointment
came back on, the hours of darkness had
brought us closer together

Premium MemberThe Incarnation

How elegant was the world you had made, God, my Father
The sun, the moon, and the stars, as fully alive, functioned.
Herbs, shrubs, plants, trees, flies, birds, beasts, and humans had their honor
Each speck, as though a heavenly gem, by no power, shunned

Eve disobeyed. Cain killed. The list, like a chain, continued.
When will these vices end? Even sages couldn't predict
Prophets, like torchbearers, tried hard to set a flawless mood.
Could they, yet, erase from the earth the good-evil conflict?

Who will I send it to now? O Father, you ask within
Knowing your inner thoughts, the Son willingly says, 'I'll go'
He decided to incarnate to take away the sin.
He knew that, lanb-like, his body would break and blood would flow.

The earth gained a new form, as though waiting for the monsoon.
Nature, with the universe, seemed to compose a new tune.

Premium MemberWheel

That circular object that brought revolution,
That, like greased bearings, made human labor easy;
Like machines many, this made its contribution,
The times to change and the cultures to be breezy...!

Carts moved fast; war chariots advanced gorgeously,
This brought out, in agriculture, green whirl, and twirl;
Windmills functioned smoothly; crafts grew enormously,
Spaces grew near as in cars and bikes it did swirl...!

Automobiles, trains, streetcars, wagons, farm machines,
Wheels, like Oxygen, are at work in everything;
In Industries, like nutrients, wheels are sure means,
In quality and quantity richness they bring...!

With the movement of time, the wheel too moves gladly,
Cultures, vivid, join hands with the wheel comradely...!!!

Parts of Me

Parts of me wants to die, parts of me wants to cry and yet part of me wishes I could fly far off from here, parts of me want to know what makes you think you are better than me. Selfishness, greed, jealousy, envy, and strife, someone remind me how we ever have properly functioned living this life. You judge me, you belittle me, you incarcerate me, poison me, you beat me down with your ignorance and your ineptitude and on top of that you wear you privilege like it's yours and only your exclusive brand. You treat me like I don't matter, and your agenda should be my foremost priority. Sooner than later, parts of me will no longer exist. Thank you for allowing me this opportunity to speak to you about these different parts of me.

Premium MemberBlack Widow

Natasha Romanova, the fair 'Black Widow',
In The Marvel Comis, is a superhero;
Surreptitious, specific, and snake-like deadly,
A one-woman army, when needed, self-medley...!

Adorned with the boundless power of hypnosis,
She made anyone, to act as per her gnosis;
With super reflexes, she functioned lightning-fast,
Saved Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson from bullet-blast...!

like Captain America, the peak strength she gained,
She turned her physique stronger or faster, unstrained;
Resurrection was her grand strange ability,
Getting killed, she soon rose in calm tranquility...!

Like light bats or cats or rats, she ascended on walls,
Midst her marvelous jumps, she escaped any falls;
Like Count Dracula, she could, often, shapeshift,
The mighty Mjolnir hammer she could freely lift...!

Her weakness of guilt or ego could not outweigh,
When her might, like gales or storms, made headway;
She sacrificed her life to save others, stories say,
In the Midwest, in a still grave, she calmly lay...!!!

Premium MemberMemories

Memories blurred in the past,
At most I can outline the images
Of times, they are everlasting.
My mind’s functioned to forget,
So I should never hold regret.
Yet my soul constantly reminds me
Of a memory and many more.

Moments now like distant memories.
My imagined reality is I’ve been at sea.
Willingly solitarily alone, on a journey
To find myself and somewhere else
Where I can just be free.

Memories lost in a stream of time,
Different streams going in and out
Of those surrounding seas.
A land, so far away, where I used to be.
Drifting amidst eternal wind.

Moments truly now faded memories,
Honestly I am deluded in the belief
That nothing repeats, when really
Someday it all does someday
Flood back into me as what
Seems to be someone else’s memories.

Premium MemberMidnight Mission

His days were hard, his nights were long
The Psalmist woke, six hours 'fore dawn
Awakened by a breeze so slight
His chamber still bereft of light
Some scoff he rose the lyre to play
The record shows he stood and prayed

             **********
Notes:

The Psalmist is King David
The record is the Babylonian Talmud:
Tractate Brochos (Blessings), pages 3a & 3b
The lyre functioned as David's alarm clock, its strings
stirred by the breeze that arises in Israel at midnight
David formulated a long prayer service, known as Tikkun Chatzos,
loosely translated as 'Midnight Prayers,' which pious Jews still perform today

Seeds of Malaise Cultural Materialism For Permissions

seeds of malaise cultural materialism for permissions
atrial, nothing functioned more than citizens' terms of right
values, possible domains of rivalry
defined, a phenomenal world of functional conditions
great as moaning Rome, livid
women are secured in natural churches rife
locally, rational and relational, religiously riotous
parties are luminous, phenomena explained physicians
permanently maimed, publicly
recognised more properly decipherable reasons
for determining domestic chains
of events differently referred what cunning
tricks warring crowds respect, believing
as needed transferred, predictably changed

Premium MemberGod Help Me

An inner voice is telling me
To take off these headphones,
Yet listening to these songs:
So soothing to my soul.

It's even telling me
To stop looking into this screen…
Oh how long it's been when I first agreed
In having this fascinating world
Be my mindful sanctuary.

I'm left all alone now, away from Home,
If only His presence were
Inside of these mere things.

Delving within what is supposedly darkness,
I feel as if I subconsciously still
Hold the lamplight of Him in my heart.

Tears bring me to Him, I cry and cry,
Yet no longer did I feel a presence
Of Arms holding me as I lay
In all my cries of loneliness.

An inner voice ss telling me to let go
And give my emotion to Him.
He truly functioned our tears
To eventually release
A fleeting form of joy.

It's even telling me
To give up all my curiosities.
Yet all I want is for Him to watch over me
And to be there, to be a forgiving Father.

Premium MemberShe Was a Force To Be Reckoned With

She was a force to be reckoned with, outgoing, delightfully assertive, powerful, well-respected.
Her business was human resources.
She was the company expert. We could not have functioned without her.
She matched people to careers as smoothly as seven minute icing goes onto a cake.
She had a reputation as the go-to-person for any and every relationship dilemma we could throw her way, and we threw them all to her.
She caught them and laughed, making mincemeat of them.
She was loving and caring, a brick in the company.
She kept things together.
She kept the peace,
She kept dendrite records that made the paper ones look feeble.
She would do anything to help you, and with the most positive attitude in the world.
She enthusiastically restored hope in people who felt helpless.
She taught people how to be resilient.
She never burdened us with her problems.
She did not talk about herself.
She left them at home.
With her gun,
And her
Bullets
And her
Plans.
A woman
Alone.
Not even
A cat.
She thought we could easily replace her,
But she was dead wrong.

A Heart That Bleeds

Ma's Sudden Deterioration Broke My Heart

Pa
Ma kids
Papa died
Mama worked daily.
She grew old but still functioned.
Own-way and fighting for her own
Independence still and lived alone doing
All things shopping with Credit Cards, paying bills
Doing her own laundry, traveling to the doctors,
Up to four months ago until a Lucifer said God loves you not!
Then
Like Job
Faith is still tried,
What a blow in boils did
Lucifer gave,leaving off from
Being a son of light, now dwelling in
The darkest places just to catch you out of faith!
Chronic diseases need tender care, but Mama did
Not believe this was truly so and one day she was found,
With lack of multifunction in all areas of life and true living.
Waiting
Praying for
A miracle to have
As God wills, purposes
And plan, no man even owns himself
And what we may plan for another the Lord
May seem to do what ever it is he wants or allows
Man to do to his fellow man, as he watches from above
That each man may be accountable for his own misgivings,
Doing to others as he would like others to do unto him. Amen.

Just Like That

JUST LIKE THAT

Amidst mixed expectations; came the unexpected
It all happened too sudden as was never expected
Out rightly, everything started to moved in the wrong direction
All that functioned stopped to function; the un-functioned started to function
Everything out of everything; it was too much for a surprise
Failure gnashed its ugly teeth at them; they became failures.

High on hope as the preacher made believe
To keep waiting as the adviser convinced
Time after time; our wall clock turned into television
Eyes fixed at every moving second; still waiting on hope
Just at the last hour when our eyes seemed to have shifted from the clock
Success happily smiled at us; we became successful.

Look! We need to talk
I guess I will start by saying that I’m sorry
I never planned for this to happen; though seems still a plan
I thought I was in control of everything; so I thought
As it appeared we have lost control of the most important thing between us
We went on our separate ways; to look for something else to control
With love gone; we chewed silently on our broken hearts.
Just like that...

First Man

First man
This first man was possessed of a body in which,
the soul functioned easily than does, today’s the *****,
The third eye we know today,
pituitary body was childs play,

highly developed, mind the soul controlled,
body was connected, all was whole,
know what happens, around the world,
intuition picture, curled, unfurled,

willed body moved by thought of mold,
place to place, by thought control,
when mind controls all body function,
grow new teeth to eat your luncheon,

a hundred times stronger was the will,
to be struck dead by thought, instil,
so weak today but powers still,
animal magnetism grip of the dill,
still powers the enterprising.
