                         Motherly Love and Frowns

Treading down the memory lane streams to my mind
memories from far yet near, some sweet, some sour,
memories preciously shelved in the precincts of my inner sanctum;

so sweet were the mindful motherly hugs of love
like the embrace of a divine angel
so serene soft and self-assuring her smiles
         like the spring selfless sunshine
so delicious her warm kisses on the forehead
that no other feel can replace,
yet interspersed at times with some harsh words
	for playing hide and seek on the sideway street;

so soft was the caress of her hands on the cheeks
that not even a beloved can bestow
so cool and compassionate her cuddly care
         no considerate nurse can dispense
so pleasing to rest on her merciful knees
more so after a hectic day`s fatigue,
yet interposed often times with some scowls
        for dusting my clothing or getting home late after cycle rides;

In afterthought, her love and frowns have made me the man I am.

Premium MemberSir Frowns a Lot

Grumpy, griping all the time,
Out of work without a dime.
Seen around the town a lot.
They call him Sir Frowns A Lot.

Used to work for the city,
Paid off, laid off, what a pity.
Caused his wife to have a stroke,
Lost his house when he went broke.

Stands in line for unemployment,
Living life without enjoyment.
Sleeping in a cardboard box,
Worn out shoes and dirty sox.

Food banks help to feed his hunger,
Dreams of days when he was younger.
But now he never ever smiles,
Just walks the streets for miles and miles.

Cursing life and shouting loud,
Mumbles, rumbles at the crowd.
They won't look him in the eye,
They just laugh and pass him by.

Until the day he found a gun,
He had enough and just for fun;
Devised a plan to help the needy,
By taking all from those so greedy.

Now robs the rich to feed the poor,
He'll soon be knocking at their door.
Just like the Knights of Camelot,
No longer called Sir Frowns A Lot.

Premium MemberSun Smiles-Moon Frowns

Up at the crack,
the crack of Dawn,
thankful for a new day.

Light peeks
from behind the trees
rubbing its eyes,
yawning, sprightly smiling.
Soaked in the spring
of life-giving yolk -
no ordinary bloke.

The whole world longs
for this daily visitor,
its blanket of support
for growing food, for
getting along with all

mankind. Vampires
hide in the shroud
of black-cape, artificial
flames in their red-coal
eyes. Moon after midnight
often frowns, pinches
the clouds until they cry.

Patrolling blues purse
their lips, flip their lids,
care for the underlid
of the chain gang fence.

Bellies filled with gold,
sour liquor; mangled knuckles
tucked in from sun to sun.

Dayrisers bound out of bed,
surrender to their faith,
prompted to love of sons
and daughters, mothers
and fathers. They are propellers
on their jets at work. Rejects

of night haunts, necks pulsating
with clean thoughts, peaceful
dreams, wired
for eternal serendipity.

Weeping Tears and Frowns

Lonely sleepless night here i am once again
with my heart and soul up against the wall
dropped to my knees feeling displeased
wishing to erase away these mistakes

I have blindly made
for myself
i’m falling apart inside

Weeping tears and frowns alone and cold
your trust i have caused to drown i'm tearing apart
inside of you
inside of you

these old feelings i have wish to withhold
to make atonement before my farewell
our shadows sink furthermore apart
our time is running out to end this nightmare

I have blindly made
for myself
i’m falling apart inside

on my knees with weary eyes
looking up to the morning star
parallel cuts i did not have the guts
Life is just a dream on the way to death

Watering Frowns

Watering Frowns

      Do you need to cry
          Eyes drip watered skin
Feeling as if you could die
Always the loser wanting to win...

      Do you have to lie
          Mouth open to shut again
Feel as if you will die
                   Your upside down happy grin...

Premium MemberThe Frowns Outplay the Smiles

The pain is in my veins

My mind tries to maintain

A strength needed to survive

But sometimes life seems too much a compromise!

Why do I stand here surrounded by fear?

Why do I strive to make life clear?

Is life really worth the tears?

Is it worth all the fears?

Sometimes the downs outweigh the ups

The frowns outplay the smiles

You have to reason for more miles

On this journey through life's trials

You have to find a will to fight

Or life will crush you out of spite.

Frowns

Must I be strong when you are weak?

If I am not, does this justify your beatings?

It would seem that the clouds would recede.

A smile upon my face all would see.

Volatile I deny.

The antagonistic world is outside.

In a world of iniquity, you are fighting self; therefore, no anti-emotions I let possess.

I just have to take good care of self and I shall receive the victory.

Note my mind is.

Notice my body is not.

Not you nor me can love any harder.

No, I want space.

Know I want you out of my face.

Smiles and Frowns

Butterfly dreams
touching rose buds of life
hopeful tomorrow

sudden storm
breaking the butterfly wings
withered rose buds.

light reflecting light. . .
my face becomes a mirror
when I am smiled at

cold countenances
and man's inhumanity
make my mouth turn down

my cat purring soft
on my lap as I watch TV -
               and my heart just smiles

tending my garden
on a sunny summer day -

Smile

A design from clouds
That covers a soft red sky
At perfect sunset

Frown

This sky turning grey
From darker invasive clouds
At tearful midday

Frowns

Harsh
Smiles' death draws down on His faces
He allowed us a full range of muscles to
function at our precious free will
He gave us our ability to express our
pleasure, but also our pain
He never meant for us to pretend, to hold it
all in.

He knows
His children

Loves us
And as He created our earthly parents in
His image wishes us only joy but

He knows
We grow
He created us so.

Since we feel, we react and Our Lord's
foresight in allowing us to show our
unhappiness does not detract from His
powerful love

He knows

So
As always
He provided
