"Spring drew on...and a greenness grew over those brown beds, which, freshening daily, suggested the thought that Hope traversed them at night, and left each morning brighter traces of her steps." —Charlotte Brontë
Spring heeds His voice,
Prepared to rejoice…
Spring showers wash away each fear,
Singing light across the new year…
Spring invites souls to the blessing,
As sun sings hope so impressing…
Spring whispers of His amazing,
Silencing the past, always praising…
Spring knows the time has come,
The dark of winter will succumb…
Spring risks the disgrace, the shame,
As the wind begins to play its game…
Spring, mostly alive with pleasure,
Restores the spirit’s joy, a treasure…
Spring erases all the tired,
Bringing new, it is inspired…
Spring’s smile, it is assured,
Brings peace that has endured…
Spring listens to His command,
Spreading glory, so great and grand…
Spring is God’s grace poured out,
On the heart who refuses to doubt!

Finally, the light opens its mouth,
speaks for the fading shadow-forms,
that are slipping away,
over the pale moon.
Dogs sniff the freshening air.
Cats roll over, nap again,
for as long as it takes.
I used to smoke,
I would go out into the unmade dawn,
and smoke until the world
took shape around me.
Now I sit in a dark kitchen,
sip black coffee,
breathe through a deviated septum,
waiting for the next sucker punch,
or the birth
of a newly christened Jesus.
Last night, in an addictive dream
a spectral Amazon van,
delivered a box of Lucky Strikes.
I smoked them all by morning.

When the sunlight does not produce a shadow
I long for a calm and freshening luster mellow
Since sleeplessness has turned into my nemesis
Resurge back after a pause and start as Genesis
He fails to comply with what he says he'll do
I wish he would return to regain my sanity too
Wild weeds are causing havoc on vital blooms
While I desire to sink into a pit of bliss loom
My limbs don't feel as if they're on solid ground
My walls are woven for a calm night's sound.

Tonight I sit and wander
through stars~ my perennial
freshening sparkling...of old familiar
constellations –
attention drawn
to some dim and distant
wondering of the many wishes
perhaps misplaced
of mine and countless worlds
of yet searching others....
Tonight I sit and wonder
with a heartfelt sigh, how
many disappointed have
stopped faithful wishing,
stopped their joyful singing –
how many fewer guitars with warmth
of feeling no-longer soulfully strumming
for a heart needs romantic reason
if to keep going its tender humming...
so, myself, a poet~ Romance's ink-full benefactor
tonight write for gleaming heavens, a darling new
twinkle-r – penning words dipped in glitter
for a yearning lonely sitter, as if my lyrical
clusters were enticing jewels for every dreamer's misplaced
coupling diadem....
Surely, some high-flying angel, or goddess will
take fond notice, for bards long the pet and fancy
of the Keepers of Wishing Stars –

Shadows stretching eastward
Setting sun in daylight lost
Fall creeps in on chilly fingers
Grasses matted by morning frost.
Trees comply ablaze with color
Flashing signals in Autumn’s roust
To feathered, clothed, or furry creatures
Storing food or flying south.
Grey fog gauzing upward
Where Canadas vector in the sky
Above dark waters cooled over night
Honkie-talkie as they fly.
Pumpkins glowing orange
Bundled corn stalks stripped and bound
Freshening winds start groaning-whining
Hints of change for frost bound ground.
Cotton to flannel to fleece and wool
Make ready for winter’s unknown
Top off the firewood, gas, or oil
Secure the harvest - secure the home.

The wind is made of haunting souls that
moan and groan in whistles and whispers.
Richelle E. Goodrich, Making Wishes
The wind blows to the south and turns to the north;
round and round it goes, ever returning on its course.

coetaneous reverberation of praise,
undulating with ancient grace -
freshening faces, flaring nostrils,
birthing, resurrecting.
Whispers in the wind

soothing and wicked.

TODAY I SAW MY LADY DRESSED IN A YELLOW GOWN,
YET NOTICED THE SPARKLING WATER DROP ROLLING DOWN,
PLACED ON HER HEAD LIKE QUEEN'S CROWN,
GLIDING OVER HER DREAMY EYES,
LETTING MY EMOTIONS ARISE,
SQUIDING OVER HER INNOCENT NOSE,
FRESHENING HER UP LIKE A BLOOMING ROSE,
KISSING HER LIPS,
DOWN THE CURVY NECK IT DIPS,
TOUCHING HER HEART MY SECOND HOME,
GENTLY ENDING ITS JOURNEY IN HER BELLYBOTTOM,
SAW MY LIFE IN THE WATER DROPLET,
STARTED FROM HER BUT CONTINUING AS OUR FATE,
I AGAIN DECLARE "I LOVE YOU MY SOULMATE".

Childlike wonder keeps a person fresh, giving her the sense of play she needs
to survive the difficult times. It also brings exuberance, joy and enthusiasm into
her world on a regular basis, reminding her that there is hope and faith.

To keep it, dear, maintained
Your mind's room
Brightening, freshening
Up its gloom
By this performing work's
Throat action
I, in just the right key
Will turn on.

Freshening
of the chair-wherewithal
I sit and meet
the stewing news
with hearty meat and veg
The idleness
unspoken here -
here I right
no wrongs
I just belong
to the sect
that sits upon
the court that no one hears
I write
of unimportant
matters that are detained
chained to a box
a talking box
How strange
our ancestors
would find the lies
between the perfect
teeth
of time
though linked
to an intersectional ginormous behind

Blackbirds singing in jackboots
Women freshening and powdering
in the Men's room
A child is born without square eye's
and cell phone permanently attached
to it's inner ear
Traversing footsteps under a star
with both maternal loving married
parents expectantly awaiting a
cradle beside
Waning Luna quarter moon tide
lapping in and out the countryside
Clotting blood splattered indiscriminately
outside the chalk line box
A hairdresser shearing blonde locks
off for a charitable cause or donation
appeal
A doctor delivering a terminal diagnosis
Whilst in the other room a child is born
and miraculous life saving medical
procedure is being performed

I got this glittery, ruby-red, smudge-proof lipstick the other day
and I really have to say technology is what separates us from the apes.
Well, technology and hair.. and.. - ok, let’s not dwell on the ape thing.
Remember when lipstick smeared like news-print? Well, neither do I - it was one of those old-timey things you hear about somewhere like phone-booths, CDs and smart republicans.
What about the young teenage girls who aren’t supposed to wear lipstick - who put it on, in the morning, at their locker, at school only to discover - seconds before their mom picks them up - that it's practically non-removable? Try hiding your lips from your mom.
I want breath-freshening, pizza flavored, jerk-repelling, morning-after-pill lipstick - that glitters, irrisistably, like cotton candy 5ex.
*snort* If men wore lipstick I’m sure we’d have all that by now.

A child rises
Stretches
Eyes open to
Breaking dawn
Windows open
To freshening breeze
Clothes on chair
Damp
Sky lightens pink
Moon sliver
White against blue
Baby birds peep
Mouths open for
Breakfast
Crows’ hoarse calls
Call a murder
Together
Katydids
Rub wings, buzz
Predicting heat
Again today
Pale body dons
Shorts, tee
Sandals
A new day
Options: endless.
