Gargoyles

Grotesque monsters immortalized in stone
Are perched on top of ancient architectural
Churches with a rumor attached about them
Being marsupial, taking to flight, and having
To materialize back in their places before
Sunrise so they don't fossilize.
These horrible creatures protect buildings as
Water spouts to keep the wall clear along
With frightening away evil spirits to which
The Cardinals say are functional.
Can you visualize their disguise?
These monsters and creatures are known as
Gargoyles who are mythical, mystical, magical,
And historical.
These mythological unusual creations aren't
At all conventional yet, they are phenomenal.
Laugh out loud they've left night time for day
Time afternoon with their own cartoon and
Video game chain
Which makes them a conversational
Piece with real names and fame with which
My children they entertain.
This was a massive campaign.
Thanks to Disneyland
Gargoyles are no longer disdained or plain.
Now they have their own merchandise on
Sale, on demand under their own name brand
So before it's all gone check out their stand
It's fully manned. Believe it or not they got
The upper hand.

Dirty Love

So we came undone, stitch by stitch,
it's been far to long but the scars still itch.
Lies start to feed on a love I believed
was specifically designed and crafted for me.
Words once ingrained into our history,
scatter like petals from an over-plucked daisy.
Promised love danced on a breeze of deceit,
then lay with the trash and leaves on the street.
I almost reach down to gather it up,
to brush off the dirt, keep hold of the love.
A girl rushes by with a smile in her eyes,
steals all the love and I'm left with the lies.
I sink to my knees, embracing the ground,
I sense you beside me, you don't make a sound.
You just look so sad.
It's then that I know,
all I can do now,
is let you go.
But I know if I wait where I am, if I stay,
my heart will rupture as you walk away,
and though I am scared, shaking as I rise,
I can't let this last juncture fossilize,
into another moment where you think you win.
So I walk away first, my next chapter begins...

Tonight

I follow the home underneath the stars tonight
stars which show me the lies in your eyes and I
want to lie next to you
lie in your head, bath in your hair tonight
and carry away your eerie last goodbye

this evening breeze, all around us tonight
streams with my memories, now you and I
we merge right here, right now
turn to dust and fossilize tonight
never come back to life

bodies stiff like trees by the lake tonight
feel the rising freeze in your breath now, but I
I won't try to survive
that light in your mind is on your side tonight
only if you will keep on shining bright

and I know I will lose my poor trust tonight
thanks to you, you used to keep me alive, but I
don't need to see you anymore
'cause you finally fell in his dreadful trap tonight
just to be my only bride of the night
the queen of my dreams tonight

Seagulls Still Praying

Fossilize sunset
Seagulls, still praying
Quietly, holding on
To this Buddhist sky
Holding on to this
World gone by
