Just a feeling

There’s this invisible shape that get formatted between my hands
A mold of a thing a statue of a being
Writhing my hands I compress to feel its pressure I press to feel resistance
With the slightest push back
I feel the attack
I stand no ground
I’m only out to live a merry-go-round

Premium MemberSpider In Winter

A spider winters in the leaves,
Tucked from the bitter cold
it weaves, a den
within a curled, dead leaf
concealed
and covered, underneath,
when life has withered,
black and
brown,
it's empty shell,
goes floating
down

This poem is interesting that the meter is in iambic pentameter but I chose to format it like a Free Verse.

A spider winters in the leaves,
Tucked from the bitter cold it weaves,
a den within a curled, dead leaf
concealed and covered, underneath.

When life has withered, black and brown,
it's empty shell, goes floating down.

How would you have formatted it, if it were your poem.

Bewildering

Do you ever feel as if life is passing you by
You're drowning in a sea's whirlpool of flux
and there's no one around to hear you cry
Sometimes life sucks! It really sucks

There are times when I feel like I don't belong
Annoyed by friends who can act like schmucks
I try to do the right thing, but it turns out wrong
Sometimes my life sucks! It really sucks.

I wrote a poem and had it formatted to enter
It was an edited sonnet; romantic lines in redux
But when I hit 'submit' I cursed my Tormentor
My computer sucks! It really sucks.

I'm often plagued with decisions and questions
and find myself standing at a crossroads, a crux
and all I get are a lot of ridiculous suggestions
Feeling bewildered sucks! Yeah, it sucks.

Life should be filled with sunshine and flowers
I fell in love, but he didn't love me back. Shucks!
My heart was broken. Tears fell in salty showers
Love sucks! Today, everything does.

Premium MemberMorning Star

You are known
       as Sirius.

Dog Star
       rising marks the
              flooding of the Nile
                    in Egypt.

Your bright
      beauty glows,
              twinkles
                     in the dark
                              indigo
                skies before sunrise.

I hope my wishes on
                    you
          will one-day come true.

Premium MemberElephant- My Spirit Animal

“If anyone wants to know what elephants are like,
they are like people only more so.”
                                                 — Peter Corneille

That 'feral' part of me- mimes you in praise.

You, Elephant, I've followed many ways;

your cogent, native skills inspire my deeds

as you attune me to familial needs

I make it easier to help them through

for young ones of my 'herd', and elders too,

so that like you, my kindred will endure-

my sense of duty matches yours for sure-

fierce guardian- yet, gentle as a lamb

a mother, matriarch- surely I am-

you've influenced me since I was a child;

so like you, Elephant- majestic, wild.

My Child, My Poem
                   ***

Call me off the wall, call me insane!
But each poem I create was
    birthed in pain!

It's formatted in love, then it's
    wrapped in a blanket...pink.
    With specific words to have
you both love and to think.

I leave my creation on a street
In the City of Poetry Soup.
    Untended and so very alone!

    I pray someone pays attention
    to her and reads her.
My poem, my child~waiting in the streets.
    Alone~in a poetry zone!

Judge Bobby

If you have never judged a contest
Let me just say the first one blows your mind
As a judge in a contest I do not look for perfection
I look for the meanings behind the poem

Perfection is for perfect people and I am far from perfect
When I read Shakespeare’s poetry I do not count the syllables
Nor do I look to see if it has been formatted
I read the content and try to feel what he is saying to me

Poetry is a message straight from the heart and each is different
If poems were delivering all the same massages tell me
Who would read them?
The only bad poem is an unread one not one out of alignment

If you don’t write from the heart then you are just writing a letter

Waking every day in this place
so full of grace
and purity
such true beauty

I see things in a peaceful way
touching each day
always with love
sent from above

And as I fall asleep at night
my dreams take flight
and in my heart
hope won't depart

Mixed Culture Stream

The impetuosity of inanities
Life spills, deals and fills
In tones and zones of vanities
Raised to a crescendo on hills and bills

On the beleaguered bottom
Society sinks into new perspectives
Derived from the atom
Devoid of subjective directives

Issued at the behest of power corridors
In lumps and stumps of mispronounced announcements
Trembling and rambling at defiant doors
Terrified and petrified at pronouncements

Scoffing at millennials
Accused of fussing over instant answers
To complex matters in denials
Over layers upon layers

Overlaying transitions from entrenched traditions
Assimilated and formatted over centuries
Of rigid implementations and regimentations
Too inflexible to consider modern luxuries

Striving to supplant
Commands and demands
In a slant
Teeming with reprimands

Queering the pitch
Making the foundation fusion task harder
To switch
From the tradition defender

To an accommodation of values of old
Held in high esteem
And new values so bold
They create a new mixed value cream within a mixed culture stream.

Meditative Clouds

Meditative Clouds
He lay down on the sandy shore
A back pack pillow ‘neath his head
He stared up at the open sky
to recognize his favorite scenes
The sun concealed by Nimbus clouds
Perchance some rain would fall anon
the thin clouds splashed a bit of light
The sun exploded from its sheath
of Cirrus clouds dispersed to show the
shape Of Stratus that erased the sun
He sensed desire to meditate

As time moved on the shapes had changed
The dark and light of Arcus Clouds
As evening neared the sol would drop
to sink into the ocean floor
Formatted different clouds to see
The Sunset is our diety

You Are the Password of My Life

I just liked you,
but you settled in my heart,
I love thinking about you,
But every moment your thoughts haunt me,
I always eagerly wait to see you,
but now even my reflection looks like you.
I want to ignore you,
The more I try to do,the more I feel about you!
Whatever the things I do,
In them, I don't know why I find you !
I wanted to forget you,
but resulted in your name as my password !
In the process of deleting you from my heart,
I lost myself, I formatted my heart,
now there is nothing inside except you !
When I tried to separate you from my heart,
I didn't know that I broke it,
because you are inseparable from it ,
You're not the part of it , you are whole of it !
