Premium Member Leaves Of Life Are Calling

"As the leaf of life sleeps upon my lips,"
I will see the "foliage of farewell."
"When the soul-stars dream and die,"
I see red leaves covering the fall trees.
"O fall, let this lore of love be the last,"
for I now see "I am the Eyes of Time."
The green leaves must change colors for the fall,
but "neither dusk nor dawn can delude me."

A POND’S-EYE MORNING VIEW

Right of the center
of the cosmic stage,
the rising sun disrobes
its horizon and announces
the arrival of another bright day.
Wading towards a pond,
a family of cute ducks,
Stretch and wiggle
their yawning wings.
The chloroplast bodies
of fueling algae around the pond,
capture the shining rays of the sun;
energizing the multi-life community:-
In the pond’s park of lily pads
and varied shapes of rocks,
aroused young frogs hopscotch
from one landing to another
Barking and running the pond’s banks,
a swaggering beagle chases a thirsty squirrel
back up the trunk of its tall sage resident-tree:-
Up on the street atop the pond’s hill,
car horns blast as rushing drivers
pass by—chatting on cell phones—
using front windshield mirrors,
getting their faces ready for the day:-
Thus, our morning view,
as my dog and I continue
our ramble around the pond :-

Premium Member My Wandering Eye

My eye is a small brown bird
that won't stay in its cage.

It slips through the bars of my lashes
and flies straight out the window,
chasing a real bird across the sky.

Grown-ups call this a non-focusing,
the eye should perch on the page
like a good, quiet pet.

But I think my eye is a bee.
It wants to land on everything sweet:
the crack in the ceiling, shaped like a river,
a shoe shining like a black lake,
a little galaxy of dust
turning to gold dust in the sun.

And when my eye flies home again,
it comes back full,
its wings dusted with honey,
ready to pour all that sweetness
back into my work.

So let your eyes fly.

Let them drink the whole wide world.

Sitting still isn't the only way to see,
sometimes the best seeing
happens in flight.

Apple of His Eye

Glasses, goggles, shields spare us
From the dangers that would snare us.
So the Savior’s love will bear us,
Carry, shelter and prepare us.
Nothing in the world should scare us,
Nothing in the world impair us;
For the Lord above compares us
To his precious eyes, and dares us
Live with joy, for he declares us
His alone, of gems the rarest.

Premium Member In the blink of an eye

I see you there then in the blink of an eye you’re gone. The body remains there but the soul has moved on.
I remember the times when we danced in the rain and the snow. Wet and cold we were but our hearts were of love aglow.

I look at you now but know you’re not there. Whoever chose to steal your soul for me does not care.
In the blink of an eye as time had moved on. The air, water, sky in the world - is it really there now that all the love has gone?

I remember your face and I remember your smile. I sometimes hear your voice and catch your glimpse through my eyes. In the blink of an eye then you’re gone. I see your face in the clouds, rub my eyes and slowly move on.

Premium Member The Bird's Eye View

Two by two
They flew
Wings in the air
Blue skies they all share
There is one place
Home base
They rest
Call it a nest
For them it's the best
Eggs hatch there
Soon a pair
Young at heart
Do their part
In the air
Soar to real heights
Sun so bright
Miss the kite
Of the kids first flight
Hold on tight
Stay calm
Or a dive bomb
Will scare Mom
Who scouts the town
Safe and sound
Well fed
And in bed
With the one she wed

The Pitious Eye

Bird, with rooftop visions
This, all humanity
Encompassing, cannot outgaze.
Lit, as though tis, godly.

Worm's Eye View

A worm's eye view never seems to be a problem
for those who prefer not to be perceived.
I inch along the ground,
cowering in the light
and moistening myself in hallowed raindrops.
The sky clouding over is my perfect afternoon.
Gentle breezes and summer downpours
are the creatures' form of relaxation,
while children cover themselves in the safety of concrete barriers,
These perfectly straight lawns
bordered by paved expanses
are insurmountable obstacles; guaranteed death.
After the rain,
childlike giants scoop us up
and force us to succumb to concentrated beams of sunlight
filtered through magnifying glasses.

Premium Member Pooting Patsy

Once was a lady named Patsy
With wooden leg and eye glassy
She looks both ways
Glassy eye just stays
Often poots for she is quite gassy

Premium Member Crystalline Eye

I see something near
Crushing a crystalline eye
Hello, I am God

London Eye

As the flowing river runs toward the sea,
Like the London Eye gazing upon the Thames,
My eternal love simply flows away.

Even in the moment we hold hands,
Looking into each other's eyes,
And whisper our love,

As the Thames flows beneath the London Bridge,
My love, too, simply flows away like that.

My love also vanishes
Into an unknown, fleeting mist,

And the chimes of Big Ben echo through the fog,
Leaving only tears to flow within my memories.

My love was the wave of my eternal sea,
Crying out toward you.

Oh, thou chimes echoing through the mist,
Toll for me!

My love still remains with you.

Oh, thou darkness within the mist,
Come to me!

Carrying my tears upon the River Thames,
I shall offer my love to you,

For someday, my love
Will come before the London Eye.

O fierce wind, that seems to shake
A thousand years of time!
Come to me.

O my light, that seems to pierce
Through the clouds of the vast sky!

On the day you come to my side,
For your sake,
I shall become the chimes of Big Ben!
