after “I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud” (also sometimes called “Daffodils”) by William Wordsworth
I wandered weightless as a feather,
a muted plume from mourning dove.
A tuft afloat in breezy weather
connected now to skies above;
as long as winds will carry me
from over fields and out to sea.
My glad esprit more free than birds,
detached from mortal needs I fly,
where spirits long to share their words
among the songs in clouds, I sigh...
for Earth was never this composed,
this high I travel unopposed.
Oh, cumulus! A meadow white,
I feel at home atop its waves
illuminant, in purest light.
Mid savored heights my mem’ry saves
inertia of the clover green
and shiver of the water’s sheen.
Such riches now I do enjoy
in solitude away from fray.
I'm free from living once so coy;
in spirits’ realm I long to stay,
for then, myself I will fulfill
with gild as gold as daffodil.
Joy.
Rebirth.
Trees blossom.
Flowers blooming.
Robins sing their songs.
New babies mean new life.
Hope pouring into our lives.
Warmer weather brings Spring Fever.
A blessed Easter morning at church.
All of this brings me peace and happiness.
Came a time to lay your burden
Mend the heart that's long time broken
Shun the gloom and enjoy life
There's no point in hate and strife
It's a time to think and ponder
To see beauty and wonder
For, by blood and water, you came pure
Live life, you don't need to endure
Ethereal lanterns poetry contest
3rd place
She hung the lanterns every night
A softly pungent glowing light
In hopes amid the darkened cliffs
To warn the sailors of the gut
That churned amid the shifting tides
Some sailors claim an angel flew
Above the ship to guide it through
While others swear t’was Mermaids eyes
That rode with them through swirling surf
And it’s been said by the aged ones
It guides the Seagulls homeward runs
And winks at flocks that must migrate
To let them know they’re headed straight
The truth be told she lit the light
And placed it hanging every night
Went to bed and closed her eyes
And dreamt herself a firefly
Rice paper dreams, lanterns and beamers of peace
lighting the way to my heart you are in far remote
Intricate cutout beauty, please do not decease
for I need you to guide me with radiant denote
Lantern of love illuminate me with soulful grace
far deeper is your symbol than mere luck of age
Ramadan rose * Easter lily * Passover Iris- lace
some days I am sinner, some days I am sage
Star lantern of my heart help me keep my vow
to a dormant holiday that often seems demure
Oh spirit of the season, guide me to your Tao
and Universal truth, please do not obscure
the lanterns of my soul, as I celebrate in-grit
and return to love, with altruistic composite.
"Ethereal Lanterns Poetry Contest"
Winter has gone to sleep,
fast asleep for another year.
Spring has opened it's eyes,
for a new season.
The cold of the winter,
has turned into cool and warm days.
The snow has tuned into pretty flowers,
with a carpet of green grass to mow.
Spring brings a time for new births,
from flowers to birds and baby chicks.
A time for a new outfit or two,
a time for new friends.
Oh spring why do you live a short time,
I wish you would stay year around.
The ethereal lantern carries a flame
lit by the soul
that shines a glorious glow of spirituality
upon our lifeforce
with visions of serene beauty
painted from the palette of unknown color
whose stream of luminosity guides us
on the lighted path
beyond the invisible realm
to be a harvester of honey-scented essence
plucked from the fruited tree of life
whose roots radiate deep within
where it seeks to find paradise
an endless fountain of understanding
The rainbow,
Wanders,
With its vibrant spectrum,
And mists,
From shore to surreal shore,
Within its dreamy arches,
Some desire gold,
Some desire irises,
And some desire,
Sweet loving,
Within its transient,
And vivacious curves,
Love caresses,
Ethereal,
From gaze to inner shores
Reynaldo Casison
Either like, delicate and light,
Tenuous as a starry night.
Heightened particles trick the eye,
Etching colored waves in the sky.
Ribbons of lights dance in the air,
Ethereal, beyond compare.
Aurora Borealis, a
Laudable spectacle per say.
Ethereal beauty like paradise
A heaven on earth, a perfect delight
A morning light, a beautiful sunrise
A gorgeous spectacle before my sight
A smile as bright as the golden sunshine
One that makes all gloomy horizons glow
One that shivers all the nerves of my spine
Fine wine that makes my lividity flow
A gust of harmony and symmetry
An Elysium, place beyond compare
Where the minds and the souls can all be free
But these can't be real without you there
For, you're like the bright light of creation
Shone with full pride and sweet dedication

“A land not mine, still forever memorable, the waters of its ocean chill and fresh. Sand on the bottom whiter than chalk, and the air drunk, like wine, late sun lays bare the rosy limbs of the pinetrees. Sunset in the ethereal waves: I cannot tell if the day is ending, or the world, or if the secret of secrets is inside me again.” - Anna Akhmatova
Enter a mysterious world as deep as a sea or an ocean -
The plane upon which spirits or ghosts most likely dwell.
Heaven it may not be, yet it summons a blissful emotion.
Exquisite is its beauty. The sweetest flowers have its smell.
Romance can be defined as this when love is sublime.
Extremely delicate, it could be an angel’s voice.
As a poet, you may submerge your soul in its wondrous rhyme.
Like a vision it might linger – if it be your choice.
Effortless waves of radiance cast on toward the abyss,
Tethered between worlds of light and dark, of despair and
Hope; An inherent need to become sentient in an age where
Everyone has become married to the digital. A beauty that is
Real and solid, yet weightless as a sparrow’s feather.
Entering a peaceful stillness born from nature, whose
Artistry is evident within the strength of thirsty roots; the
Letters and codes of the universe lay dormant in fallen rain.
The water lily mirror is her window
which she shares with frogs
In the woods, where wild flowers and herbs grow
She greets the sun at dawn
washing his golden locks in the morning dew
Few have seen her,
but many had heard about her
The sound of willow whistle
her song in an unfamiliar language
- the same song every night
as a ritual perhaps component of a ceremony
During the day she remains silent
Her woven wings in ethereal beauty
supernatural flies with the wind
Nature provides us with answers
if we listen, look and believe
ETHEREAL
‘Ethereal’ must have been invented
To describe my lady’s beauty
Hair, finespun with hint of curl;
Eyes, deepest hazel, smouldering.
Regal bearing, head held high,
Elegance epitomized.
And today I’m feeling fancy-free.
Last night I’m sure she smiled at me.
Wisteria grows rampant its beauty displayed
Lavender clusters of perfected flowers
Forming an archway an ethereal display
Their elegance unworldly admired for hours.
In soft summer rain, they grow refreshed
Luminous shade that catches one's eye
With gentle motion, they sway and impress
Exquisite moment relished we softly sigh.
Clusters of blossoms heavy on vine
Blissful respite soothes weary mind
To enjoy and wonder before its decline
With summer wisteria is eternally twined.
