It was during the early 80s when I struck gold in California.
I saw 'fool's gold' on the banks of The American River,
but my first citing of genuine California gold, the kind that
is forever treasured and never spent, was discovered on
the streets of San Francisco.
It took a while before I recognized it as gold. A closer look
and more frequent encounters were required before I saw
the gold because it was enameled with much dirt and Drin.
His name was Reuben, a harmless, homeless, and hungry man.
My next 'find' of pure gold was a 'real mother lode'
in the person of a beautiful lady named Estelle.
Estelle was the shield that God provided as
we sought shelter from one of life's storms.
Just thinking about her draws tears of love.
And then, there were the saintly trio.
Ron, Ester, and her sister Peggy. This
trio was my fuel in flight; my inspiration.
These five human 'pearls of great price'
were among the choicest, rarest,
and most precious of souls.
Real California gold.
The House of Bernadotte.
Oh my, what have you got?
It's been more than a year,
Swede reporter made clear,
adultery in the land of Moose,
high up the ladder may vamoose.
Yet after all, he's just a commoner,
until he married, King Gustav's daughter,
the heir apparent to Sweden's throne,
wedded tryst to the roamer of Stockholm
poor Crown Princess Victoria speaks true
Princess Estelle, Prince Oscar, & grandpapa too,
The alleged, Prince Daniel, publically denies it, soon all forgotten!
Regal, Crown Princess Victoria, "Reconcile, House of Bernadotte."
Paradise for We
My beautiful lady , my darling Estelle
sweet are the days while love rings it's bell
Paradise beckons our hearts as future opines
your beauty sings of roses and Blue Mountain pines
Heaven has now ventured down to this earth
a paradise it created with your goddess birth
Adding romantic, dancing clouds in glimmering sky
a gift, a blessing sent , nobody daring to ask why
The briefest look at your angelic smile
summoned bliss and heavenly love in greatest style
A world with roses, rainbows and purest bliss
heavenly delights our souls dare not ever miss
My darling, sing as you sit waiting for me
As I move heaven and earth to find paradise for WE!

(Dedicated to Estelle Getty who died July 22, 2008.)
When we watched her, she brought about laughter.
Now she's dead and she's in the hereafter.
She died at the age of eighty-four.
It's sad that she's not around anymore.
When she was young, she must have been very pretty.
Now the world is sad as we say goodbye to Estelle Getty.
