Dangerous gift

Leaving me in a ocean of deceit Entrusting me with mistakes I'd repeat Shattering a heart that once felt complete An unending war that ensures defeat.

An enchanting wilderness that weakens your sight A beautiful angel that can never be seen in white Like a black hole, it sucks in all the light Right after you believe you have got something worth the fight.

It can also be,

A source of eternal peace when you choose right With a bed of roses laid every night The mysterious secret behind your smile Your shield and strength against every fight.

A problem you don't have to solve Granting you with pleasure that can never be enough In one word all you need and want That dangerous gift we call love.

The Cynicism Trap
apathetic engaged
withdrawn open, free
distrusting entrusting
pessimistic feeling hopeful in outlook
always expects failure ahead strives onward for success
skeptic about the future to come altruistic in hope for the future
selfishness, deceitful, dishonest truthful, honest, cooperative
emotionally detached, withdrawn engaged, committed, sharing
gives up easily, becomes inactive resilient, determined to stay on
alone, stifling creativity and connections encourages partnerships, joint efforts

Premium MemberSouls Cry

Essence melancholic bemoans, echoing soul’s doleful cry
When clamors of unrequited love, earnestly amplify,
Bruised yearnings of deep desires, as lovelorn heart sighs,
For the longings of shattered passions, tearing her eyes.

Deep feelings of emptiness, no longer can she bear,
Burning with intensity, as wistful flames of rejection flare,
From the void of emotions, from sinful, loveless affair,
Bawling now in frustration, blaring anguish of despair.

Soul grieves for love elusive, she believed to be true,
The kind that blossoms hearts; and doting minds woo,
Alas! It was a tantalizing allure, irrevocably gone askew,
An illusion, alike gems, refracting from morning dew.

Soul rises from abandonment, escaping abyss of grief,
Deploying enlightenment, vying calm of ethereal relief,
As cohesion and congruity reconnect to angelic bliss,
Releasing negative feelings, rekindling love-vibes amiss.

Spirits reinvigorated emerge from dreaded goodbye
As soul’s insight redirects influence of love drifting awry,
Exiting barren desert, to find oasis on the other side,
Entrusting mystique of love, passions romantic confide.

Nanny State

I, the blue-eyed, bright haired reprobate,
A product of the nanny state,
raised on free-to-air TV
and value cans of rice pudding,
lament the current climate
on a tiresome bus ride home,
glasses fogged from temperature change and
watch the world flit idly by.
Thoughts of evening news linger inside,
despair and poverty,
people just like me,
like old, rotten cladding,
crumbling under social pressure.
Us nanny state kids,
council-estate bred
with ideas above our stations,
are a damp squib on far right projections
of lazy people addled with benefits,
mass-producing offspring
in our small council-owned factory homes.
The future of this Divided Nation
lies in the hands, hearts and minds
of breadline babies and charity children.
It lies with the people
who traverse dangerous waters
in plastic boats, entrusting
their lives to the ocean
instead of guaranteeing their demise
on unstable land.
The nanny state has a habit
of mollycoddling, smothering
its most vulnerable with
all the extra support they need
to make their short time
on this sodden planet
just
a
little
more
bearable.

Premium MemberMelvin Babysitter Owl

Melvin was enthralled with three sisters so fine
I will keep careful watch oas if they are mine.
The sisters were Marigold, Mercy and May.
They were readily watched by Melvin O’Shay.

He is a wise owl. I completely trust him.
Said the girls’ mother Mrs. McKim.
Entrusting her daughters to the care of the owl.
Who was an incredible babysitter, a marvelous fowl.

Premium MemberCross Over To Tomorrow

When I recall the tenebrous, gruesome shadows
Shrouding our lives conjuring deaths and sorrows,
In my vantage-point, I envision a massive bridge
Standing there resolutely over turbulent waters
Beckoning me avidly to cross over to tomorrow
Promising the other side is now within my reach
And travails of the yore will soon be behind me.

Yet, I feel fear gripped in jaws of deadly throes
And sense saddened tears fretting abyss of woes
So I summon courage, spurring resolve to cope,
Drawing assurances in embrace of my beloved
Entrusting-- in despair too-- grow seeds of hope
Believing in the promise of scientists, medicines,
And heroes who sacrifice in service of humanity.

Beyond that bridge are the pristine green prairies
Cheerfully inviting me to joy of winsome spring
Where glee of vibrant season burbles in streams
Washing away remnants of yesteryears’ misery
Frozen in gelid winters when lives were stilled,
As I continue trekking to dreams of my dawning
Aiming to arrive there clasping strength of family.

Premium MemberJourney

Begins from the unknown caves,
Waxing and waning till graves;
Progresses journey; squints, slants,
Through rough rocks and softest sands...!

In its silent secrets, sweet,
Trifles turn tough; targets treat;
Trackless trails merrily merge,
Rivers and rivulets surge...!

Dearly deemed destinations,
Ease endless explorations;
To pilgrims of perfection,
Peace propels pure protection...!

I'll stay patiently trusting,
Each step to God entrusting;
I'll, my journey, enjoy whole,
Gaining solace to my soul...!

Pain

PAIN

I used to say I am fine,
Even if deep inside I am hurting.
I don't want to be a burden,
To my husband and children.

Seeking medical treatment,
Is my last priority.
I challenge my endurance,
While the pain is bearable.

My head is hard as the stone,
With a heart soft as the cotton.
I always tell my children,
Emulate only the good side in me.

Calling my departed mom,
Somehow relieves my pain.
I felt her loving caress,
That cures like a medicine.

But most of all I believe,
By God's grace I am blessed.
To endure all the pain I felt,
Forever grateful to Him.

Sooner or later, my time will end,
All the pain will go with the wind.
Pleading God to forgive my sins,
Entrusting my soul to Him.

Premium MemberHuman Rights

History paints a cruel and atrocious picture of human failure.
Unbelievable acts of hate leave a trail of pain, tears, and shame.
Mankind has behaved like the animal kingdom in many respects.
Acknowledgement has been granted for much of our human evils.
Nevertheless, we must continue pursuing human rights with diligence.

Religion, admittedly and unfortunately, has played a large and leading role.
If the truth is told, religion, especially Christianity, is also a healing force.
God is Loving and Good, entrusting his creatures to act in good faith and love.
Harmony and unity require taking ownership, and not blaming others.
Time is a friend to all who are willing to change and make amends.
Selfish acts of greed and hunger for power are pathways to destruction.

Premium MemberI Turn My Head Trying Not To Notice

The naked truth of present youth is pathetic and non-poetic.
Some are searching for Nirvana in other’s ideals
others have given up.
In bottles and pipes, we find a few, if we actively seek them.
But who does? Few care.

Youth of today slithers through alleys,
like cobras searching for big rocks.
Rocks that will tell them what to think, and who to beg money from.
Poverty parades around in their plastered minds.
Not all, but some.

Some make a posse and hang upside down in a backyard forest.
Entrusting their flesh and madness to nicotine and marijuana.
Time spent pursuing things that keep them on the edge.
I turn my head, trying not to notice.

Pseudointellectuals are making fun of the status quo.
No surprise there; they do not fit, so they bite it with snake venom.
Ripping it apart. Not only in America, but worldwide.
Disappointing their established parents.

Premium MemberSoftly Falling

Simple blessings fall across my soul
Whispering, breathing, laughing, praying
Lighting hearts is real love so smart
Assuring me that I will be whole
Once I’ve placed my faith in my Father
Entrusting my spirit is the goal
Leaving my past in dreadful darkness
Knowing my grief He has surely stole
Thanking Him for sins He is paying
Is real love so smart lighting hearts
Blessing me so as He does console

Almost Fainted When Jesus Painted

had almost fainted
picture of Jesus painted
artist was sainted

when they would prevent
actions of an indigent
should always relent

did make deposit
racist found in closed closet
flame had to douse it

could go on conquest
find food which will be the best
which we did request

had been a broker
did fish for spot and croaker
ever did occur

each did exploit
in ways which were adroit
then will anoint

encapsulated
people who were related
great works created

he had been a slave
only wanted friendly wave
along with close shave

what some people say
should always use pepper spray
do it anyway

really entrusting
people who had been busting
from cocoon and lusting

Premium MemberPraise Delight

As precious jewel

praising the Prince of peace with bliss

my soul is illumined by Truth’s inspiration

along His immutable Way

to reflect serenely my Saviour ---

the bright and morning Star*

while cleaving to Christ

my faith’s Anchor despite tempests...

entrusting existence to the Life elixir

eternally everlasting

striving to please Him midst sublime service

and stewardship shine.

*Revelation 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

Your Flow

Strolling through your
memory’s ambition
Entrusting it to an Essence
of smooth transition
Riding upon your every
word so well defined
As every sentence then is
left to be redesigned
Flowing upon your rhymes
to play within your ink
Searched for hidden messages as
they all make me think
Letting each stanza caress
planting in me your theme
Loving all the characters in
your abstract painted dream
Floating on the ebbs and
waves of your very flow
Each bar you was killing it
like in a murder show
You got this, you don’t need
me but I’m along for the ride
This is a challenge one I needed
 and that I won’t hide

Premium MemberInner Beauty

A colorless void encases a cardinal mind
Aesthetically stifled in a lonely heart
Its beauty therein has flown worlds apart
Entrusting true love, one day it’ll find

Until then, she’ll dwell in memories
and shadows that haunt every dream
Her tears flow in an endless stream
when love was more than reveries
