The form used here is the Counterpoint Tree - where contrasting arguments, ideas, and views are presented as counterpoints separated by the symbol "<>" representing the trunk of the tree. The left and right branches (on each line) are the counterpoint ideas (positive and negative - for and against). The form creates the shape of a tree. Negative <> Positive
