Mary had received a letter.
She read it aloud to her friend Netta.
It was to invite her to go with Ben,
As done last year to the town fair again.

Netta said “aren’t you going with Joe?”
Mary replied ”He did ask me to go.
Why don’t the four of us go together?”
Oh I so hope its lovely weather.

“Which boy would you be with?” Netta enquires.
Mary laughed “Whatever transpires”
She smiled.”Ben and I did have fun last year
He paid for everything such a dear,

We had hot dogs and went on every ride,
It would be really hard for me to decide.
I like Joe, he’s easy to get to know.
So is it agreed, four of us will go?

Fine, lets answer Ben’s letter straight away.
Now what shall we say?
Thank you Ben, how sweet of you.
Netta is coming too”

Cancer Alzheimer's Park

The cancer in my head

Patently obviously

Is ever so slowly

Taking over

Me

Day bye day

So here's to you

Al Parkinson

My imaginary childhood friend

Who as a single child

I could truly count on

And kept me company

Way back then

For kindly taking the time to revisit

Me once again

As you are the only one

Through all and everything

I have been put through and endured

Has never once left me on my own

Stayed ever present at my side

Till this very present moment

Where we find ourselves now

Quivering trembling in fear

And as old as you are now in terms of age

Reverting deeply back to whence upon

You were a child yourself

Trapped seemingly unable to escape

The confinement of inside your head

Praying endlessly for nothing less or more

Than when someone

Most
Especially

A close loved one enquires

Can you remember

Do you in fact know

Who you are

Or I am

Unsafe District For Cops Strict

Meant enquires consequent
On ken Sampson The Eloquent
Wishing now to himself acquaint
With the conflicts that were frequent,
Where his people are domiciled,
Currently to odds reconciled,
So that he might about them speak
And The Still-Kept Hidden leak…

In the darkest drain slain body,
Not long traced to B Goodie
By some folks loved for being civil
But by their Union ruled ‘Evil’:
To all Good Remarks had sniveled
And on Grave Issues had driveled
Some see A Demon just vanquished
He wouldn’t have Swipes relinquished
 Goodie’s killer is distinguished:
Has Satan’s Fire extinguished!...

Ken has The Final Picture grabbed
Slain Goodie was tortured, first nabbed!
Ken would treat not ‘Emergency
From Juvenile’s Delinquency:
This is about Unsafe District;
Every cop to wear a face strict…

Premium Member Fright Time

Steeple lit by lightning loud
Moon that's full peeks round a cloud
Trudging through the churchyard mud
Unwise shortcut: THUD, THUD, THUD!

The sound is muted ’neath my feet
No one there I wish to meet
Sodden hair and soaked to skin
Contemplate my every sin

Thunder, lightning, crackling air
Time to hightail out of there
Prickling skin: can’t hang around
Portentous skies and groaning ground

Slipping sliding progress thwarted
Planned escape at once aborted
Through the storm the church bells chime
Shadowed figure… asks the time

Where he came from I don’t know
Neither did I see him go
Stood alone in worsened shower
Still his voice enquires the hour

Flight, not fight my first reaction
Once my feet acquired traction
Reached the exit P.D.Q.
Asked the time by who knows who

Homeward through the icy rain
Darkness asks the time again
Local paper on the mat
Front page headline tells us that
Town remembers Howard Peak,
Funeral was held this week

Police have found no weapon nor
The watch that he was murdered for

Shes the Girl On the Phone

Just a voice on the phone
And a breezy hello.
And a name to be etched on my mind
This call been connected direct to my heart
And how can I help, she enquires.
Returning my heart would be a good start.
She’s the girl on the phone
With that breezy hello
How’s my day she enquires.
Made, is my simple reply
Would I be interested in
Is what I think what i heard
but its only her that I’m interested in.
is there anything else I can help with today
well can you fix a broken heart
she’s the girl on the phone
with that breezy hello
who’s just disconnected my heart .

Men, Money and Morals

Parents killed brutally
Matter trivial
Upper caste involved
Compensation announced
Forty lakhs
Reason
Placating minorities
Two sons
Then minors
Now turn 18
Eligible for compensation
Sumit younger
Enquires for money
“Some more paperwork,”
Suneet clarifies
Less than a year
Separating the two
“Why 40?”
Sumit further asks
“Twenty each-
Mom and Dad,”
Suneet explains
Two shots fired
Suneet gets killed
“Why settle for 20
Why not 60?”
Sumit coldly remarks
“But now
The hard task-
Pass on this murder
As caste war,”
Sumit says nonchalantly.

Fight Or Flight

Fight or flight?
My body enquires
No, I laugh
I've just woken up

Do you need me now?
My body presses
No, I explain
I’m just off to work

I'm sure you need me
My body insists
No, I assure
I'm just with a friend

You must need a hand
My body decides
No! I argue
I'm just driving home

Don't ignore me forever
My body threatens
No? I whisper
I just want to relax

I'm here, I'm ready
My body compels
No! I cry
I just want to sleep

Good morning, sunshine
You look tired today
But, no fear
I'm here again

The shake of your fingers
The race of your heart
The blood pulsing, forcing
Itself through your veins
The quiver of your voice
The sickness in your stomach
The restlessness
Insatiable
I'm here again
I'm raring to go

Please, no, I beg
I'm just trying to live

Clairvoyance

the fire encircled me
n i was melting
away into a vanishing mass
burnt into ashes, then
wake up like like a phoenix later
i knew i slept like a baby
her persistent warmth,the
enthusiasm of the youth the
loving enquires n the innocent
bashfulness awoke me
up from the deep slumber
the sun has come on
shining brightly
on top of our heads, looking unto her
my eyes blurred
and the tears of joy rolled down the cheeks
i could feel her emotions ,her thoughts now

Highly Intelligent Gluteus Maximus

The student sits in third row last chair
His foolish words of attention are blurted everywhere
He understands not the value of listening
For he seeks laughs and howls for the teacher’s off>< pissing
Until finally the day of teacher student conflict
The teacher enquires of the student’s gimmicks
Young man confronting the joker for all to hear
Your gall for the learned compliance suitable for classroom learning
Indicates your true ability of one of extremely asinine qualities
I must admit as all the students are listening here
You are the greatest highly intelligent gluteus Maximus I ever did hear

Dante's Inferno

Dante the depths thou searchest deep

Amidst the pergatory sleep

Neither living yet not dead

Torn between the sheets of red

Enter and ye lose all hope

Spirit world spirit folk

Inside the dark and black despair

Not leaving till he finds her there

Fraid of nothing his soul may take

Enquires of hell, pleads for her sake

Restless wanting she must be close

Not retreating from what he desires the most

On otherside craves see her ghost.

The Reluctant Repenter

Say your prayers and sit up straight,
Get into that confessional box to wipe clean your slate.
Make sure you get all those wicked sins off your chest,
The lord will only welcome those who are wholesome and blessed.

In pitch black silence you sit, your final thoughts to gather
Before being shocked into repentant mode with a blast of “in the name of the
father..”
“How long has it been?” the priest enquires, he must know you will lie?
You take the first figure that pops into your head then you divide, not multiply!

Those awful sins that lay heavy on your heart,
From your reluctant mouth they slowly depart.
You tell of bouts of swearing and theft from mammys purse,
And stealing a bag of crisps from your sister, now what could be worse?

“That’s is all father” are 4 short words you triumphantly announce,
The priest mumbles some mystic latin verse then a Hail Mary to pronounce.
Finally your chore is done and you are asked to go in peace,
You gleefully skip out of the box and celebrate release!
