Premium MemberSonata in Silver

Dusk fell like dust.
And in the hush of the night
Stars twinkle in splendid formation:
There an Orion, or a Little Bear
Or the famous Pleiades.
So many glitters that dot the vast sky,

In essence a melody superbly charged,
Like magic fingers on an enormous scale,
Delightful arpeggio eliciting occasional sounds
Into an allegro that has one great maestro:
The silver moon that directs all
Into a masterful sonata as its rays
Penetrate on lovers as they dream
Or make love in their various restful places.

Hush, I see many on their sailing boats
Their sail cloth glimmering in silver hues
Upon the vast calm waves of the ocean
With movements of contrasting moods,
A waltz that is so refined in splendid silver sonata.
Of beauty and dreams that fade on sunrise.

Enchantress

Excitingly exotic,
she entices and entraps
me in an entanglement
which is both discomforting and enthralling.

Enamored by her elegance and ebullience,
I embraced her with much exuberance
eliciting my eagerness and
erupting in an euphoria.

Ensnared on the cusp of erotic fever
I was drowning in passion
swooning with sinful pleasure.

But, with mischief in her eyes
a beguiling smile
and a demeanor teasing and coy,
She disappeared from my life
like the mist at the first glint of dawn.

Premium MemberA Bag of Spiders

In shadows deep where darkness hides
There lies a bag of eight-legged horror
A bag of spiders where dread resides
Creeping and crawling, causing sorrow

With nimble legs they dance and sway
Each spins a thread, a delicate art
A web of wonder, they work their way
To weave their silk and do their part

They scuttle and scurry, never at rest
Their beady eyes, like gleaming gems
Silent whispers in a world obsessed
Reflecting secrets, known only to them

Oh, the bag of spiders, a curious sight
But hidden within their fearsome guise
Eliciting shivers, invoking fright
Lies nature’s marvel in miniature size

A bag of spiders, misunderstood
For spiders, in truth, are nature’s aide
Not causing harm, but doing good
Keeping balance, so be not afraid

So let us ponder with open hearts
A bag of spiders, for if you did
You’d see how nature plays her part
And applauds the bag of arachnids

"Be like a flower ... gentle, quiet and humble."
                            Quote _ Constance La France

Their blossoms faded to shades of amber filagree
Now, withered remnants of what they used to be
Sweet scent that once perfumed a drawing room
On stems cut from my garden, each humble bloom
is spent, past prime; ready to be pressed in a book
or drying in bunches, quietly hanging upon a hook

Recently snipped, arranged in a Lalique crystal vase
are their progeny, who have taken their elders' place.
How beautiful they are, dressed in cobalt blue gowns
eliciting smiles of adoration, never woebegone frowns.
Their beauty gentles my mood when they stand proud
until they too, will wither and fade, their stems bowed.

Oh, to be like a flower ~ gentle, quiet and humble,
happy to entice the pollen seekers, a bee who bumbles
or butterflies who flutter fragile wings, flying so free.
How I wish sometimes that a tiny creature I could be,
with delicate wings spread, I'd travel without a sound
grateful to be alive, without setting foot on the ground.

An Art Fair

We went to an art fair to look at some art.
The prices were listed, which set us apart
From the people who’d purchase a painting displayed
Without thinking too much of the price that they paid.

From a couple of Calders (at 45 thou)
To a few with a price tag eliciting Wow!
There were many quite lovely, while some others shown
Were, no matter the price, works I’d not want to own.

Still, it’s always a pleasure to visit a place
Where creative collections are there to embrace.
Let the rich people buy them; I’m happy to gaze,
Sharing my admiration with smiles and praise.

Smile

A smile is a dozen roses,
Given to the one who sits beside,
Eliciting a different mood,
A ray of light filtering through a dark room.

A smile is an umbrella,
Over that one caught in the open,
The windows open for a down rush,
No shelter in sight.

A smile is sitting in a garden,
Surrounded by nature's beauties,
Basking in their fragrance,
Enthralled by their pigment and hue.

A smile is giving someone a lift,
Stranded and distraught,
Held up in the middle of nowhere,
The journey is a lengthy mile.

A smile is turning the corner,
Ravaged by a debilitating illness,
Comfort and joy stole,
The mind is in desperate search of an escape.

A smile is a return home,
Peace has pulled apart the curtains,
It has made its grand entry,
Turmoil has taken a bow.

A smile is embracing our differences,
Weaving our fabrics together,
Mixing our colours,
To make a beautiful portrait.

Premium MemberChanging Our Attitude

A foggy morning with dreary overtones
Can cause the spirit to spiral downward
Eliciting slow-moving, guttural groans
A foggy morning with dreary overtones,
It makes us feel like decrepit, old crones
Roadblocks in the way of moving forward,
A foggy morning with dreary overtones
Can rapidly spiral the spirit downward.

Roadblocks in the way of moving forward
Can seem like an insurmountable barrier
Sometimes it’s difficult to look upward
Roadblocks in the way of moving forward
Should make us immediately fast-forward
To see the future through a smile-carrier
Roadblocks in the way of moving forward
Can seem like an insurmountable barrier.

To see the future through a smile-carrier
Ditch the blasé and change your attitude,
Look upward beyond any limiting barrier
To see the future through a smile-carrier,
An attitude like “the more the merrier,”
Instead of carping, face the day in gratitude
To see the future through a smile-carrier,
Ditch the blasé and change your attitude.

Premium MemberLove Endearing

Love is an impulse fueled by the heart,
A stimulating prompt eliciting response
Invoking affinity from halo of its soul~
Sense it, feel it, touching depth of core;
Harmonious, melodious, even in prose
Longingly love unfolds albums of yore
Etching memoirs today and tomorrow.

Love is the glimmer on giggles of child
Love is, beak to beak, feeding a newborn,
Love is a deer ambling with her fawn,
A blush of kiss love is on moonlit night,
Listen closely and you’ll hear its sound~
Sound of benevolence love expounds
Giving, receiving, never having to ask.

Love is a ballad in passions of romance
Blossoming reveries in bosoms of dawn,
Love is the chorus of nightingale’s song
Strumming its euphonic tunes of music
Enamored it comes in genuine feelings,
Vibrant and tender as flowers of spring,
Fragile and colorful as autumnal revelry.

Premium MemberSmiles and Laughter

I’d rather be noted for eliciting a smile
Bringing a ray of sunshine into your life
Than to have awards, trophies, and note
In a world increasingly rampant with strife,
We all need to be encouraging one another
A piece of advice that always gets my vote,
Treating each as beloved sister and brother
Learning to be kind must be a matter of rote.
A smile is a frown “turned upside down,”
I’ve been told, and I think it is certainly true
I have no aspirations to be a circus clown
But I’m vowing to do what I’m able to do
To bring to all more smiles and laughter
That’s what I hope to be remembered for
If I’m remembered, at all, in the hereafter!

Premium MemberOrphan 'Round

*Image of Lyre Box Organ Grinder by Pixabay

Orphan 'Round

A chimp's bereft tambourine in its paws
jigged 'round a bunch of detaining gazes,
donning smiling countenances or jaws
that plunge as the organ grinder phases.

Rhythmic jingling in sync amid the crank
that stirs 'round, eliciting monies freed
from purses and billfolds as the rich thank
the dual busker's intrigued act indeed.

A sincere beast calms down by a soiled boy
fronting the crowd, an orphan of the streets
note 'round the hurried hush and yields his joy
and sadly looked down as woe gauged heartbeats.

Coins and bills spill and a bright lad kneels cause
a chimp's bereft tambourine in its paws.

I Am Satans Prophet God Is Using

I am Satan’s prophet God is using,
Because He is certain Satan is losing:
Another thousand pigs to surely perish
The Homeless Anew to this not cherish.

The Devils mouthpiece God monitors his megaphone:
In the end, God’s Messages in Satan’s tone
This, the latter not happy to condone
Because in me has built his throne…

Yep, Satan’s script God keeps editing
Satan from it not much eliciting
And would soon cease soliciting.

Premium MemberGlow of the Universe

Warm spring sun talking to the trees,
Bringing the glow of the universe nigh
On the wings of a sweet-smelling breeze,
Warm spring sun talking to the trees
Bringing ol’ man winter to his knees,
Growing season eliciting a hopeful sigh
Warm spring sun talking to the trees,
Bringing the glow of the universe nigh.

Premium MemberAngels On Your Shoulders

Stare all over, O World, you scarcely utter.
Bear stalwart angels to arise over the air tugger.
Odoriferous water may abscond the realm of prosily.
Such as the Goddess of Heaven perpetrates an odyssey,

Please, Lord, I pray you are aware of my plea heed.
The blunder I committed thwarts a significant need.
My wickedness is crucial to fade as it's such a bigwig.
I aspire that everyone will stay ready for the callow sprig.

My trudge to the palatial gateway has formally begun.
I'm embedded in the exacerbated curse greaten.
We embody no faith in eliciting heavenly mercy.
And will do it as soon as I can from a gallows tree.

My mighty task was a cipher accredited to splendor.
Plus, the angels yielded me their smoldering ember.
They allotted me munificently for their rare care, too.
Failed my mystical prowess to beckon them, they mellow.

Below kaleidoscopic bulwarks or in a raving creek,
In bosom nirvana, we withdrew the draughty bleak.
I earned a lasting bliss than one could dream.
And I willingly sieve to share my peaceful stream.
