That one minute call - An Electronics Engineers Love poem!
I was soldering dreams on a PCB,
Fighting a chip that refused to agree.
Multimeter in one hand, wire in the other—
Voltage spikes like no one’s bother.
Then came the call—a soft little beep,
Right when my circuit fell asleep.
I picked it up with a sigh so tall…
Didn’t expect you on that one-minute call.
"Hey, resistor brain, still alive?"
You joked

Imported Goods
When might they be swarming the market
Eardrums deafening with pure racket:
The at-all-times mad desire
That makes importer a messiah:
Shipping bent on vomiting the goods
Over which the dying user broods…
A consumer’s quest for the newness
One’s government checks with a shrewdness,
Never ceasing to the Brisk Things tax,
A big loss should she choose to be lax…
Soon, Importer:

We All Have Devices
We all have devices the eight-year-old happily said.
My whole family plays them through supper until time for bed.
Video games? Sure! I play Farmer Fruity Furlough Fred.
No communication with my family and no books are read.

My Phone Dings For No Reason
My phone dings for no reason.
I am not playing video games.
I am not trying to speak to a friend.
I am sitting in the living room
And I hear my phone dinging in the kitchen.
I pick it up and stare at it.
There are no alerts.
No messages.
No indicators at all.
I leave it in the kitchen
And it happens again

Woke Up At Four
Woke up at 4:00 a.m.
Not the witching hour.
I am usually up around three.
Woke up and ran to the computer.
She made her happy melodic I am ready song.
Thank god as I have to wake up my husband if she does not sing.
He can run all of the remotes
And fix all of the computers
Knowing what power

Would We Know What Lmao Means
What if electronics had never been invented?
Would people be as rude to each other?
What if we had no I-phones?
Would we still be talking in person?
What if the child did not have its own TV set?
Would it still talk to its parents?
What if social media had never been invented?
Would we know what LMAO means?

All Apart Together
We are all in one room
Morey is playing a violent video game
because there are blood splatters on the screen
every time I look at his I-pad.
My husband is sitting behind me watching
a movie on a laptop. Both he and Morey are wearing
headphones because I have dog ears.
I am trying to figure out if

My Virtual Friend Alexa
I smile to myself that a robot just told me off
Do you have an Alexa?
Or an Amazon?
These are virtual companions
That can
Wake you up
Tell you the weather
Play music
Or white noise
Tell you jokes
Keep you company
You can ask questions
And she will answer most of them
We have Alexa’s and Amazons
all over the house
an Alexa just said
Alarm was not set

Electronics
The electronics clambered, numbered incessantly the pixels
Evermore they quoted as they looked sheepishly beyond the waving kelp
But how many fonts hold fast to the batholiths where benthic crawlers lurk?
All sounds resonate truly never resting they attest to organisms organized
Materialized from matter without flatter, all is jargon even tarragon
So have you planned usurping what

What to do with no cell phone or computer for a day....
Sit at home, be bummed how things didn't go your way?
Or go outside and play like it's your last day?
What to do with no cell phone or computer for a week...
Would you keep up with friends and family?
Or stay home and play solitaire,
