Donkey Ethic

Donkeys have strong backs,
they have to carry heavy packs.
On mountain trails they trudge
slow and steady without grudge.
All donkeys live by this strict ethic:
A lazy ass is pathetic.

Forever by your side

Oh, my beloved, 
I've been searching for you all day long.
Since the day we met, 
I've been deeply in love with you. 
I've been craving your presence,

Aunt Dorothys Concrete Donkey

Great aunt Dorothy had a concrete donkey in her yard.
She had inherited it and the house from my grandparents.
This donkey had been in this yard since nineteen forty-one.
We kids always begged to decorate it for Halloween and Christmas.

Aunt Dorothy said this idea was despicable.
It would not be honorable.
The donkey would not like it.

went and stood by a tree.

Now that I've no money,
You said I'm a monkey,
You now think it's funny,
But it's no way funky.

'Cos you're now a bunny,
Im no longer hunny.
 But when I had money,
I was then a honey,

Needing no attorneys.

The Sunday papers had nothing to tell 
except for the usual trivia  and endless 
wars somewhere on the planet
As I get older and older, nothing much 
is of importance, novels are good only 
for taking our mind off the ennui 
I used to write poetry and hoped to
publish until I realized it was of no 
importance for anyone

Unsavory Lunch

A Bengal tiger has an uncanny hunch
That he'll encounter a tasty beast to munch
Finding an inedible Prey
with fear he roars go away!
Then runs to seek a more suitable lunch

There once was a young tiger named Roar

Donkey VS Tiger

Donkey went to a small stream one day,
but a tiger stood right in his way.
Tiger roared and then fled.
Donkey filled him with dread
when he let out a bellowing bray!

face to face across the stream, just a leap away,
donkey saw the tiger, in fear began to bray,
“one kick from me will get you down,”
“get back to forest ugly clown,”
“I am Vegan’”said the tiger, “please share your hay!”

Donkey lost by a stream pleads a deal
That the Tiger not make him a meal.
The scared Donkey looks sad-
While the Tiger grows mad!
Silly Ass, don't you know hunger's real??
