Does your Summer miss the snow?
A poem reflecting the persistent, almost seemingly never-ending, haunting nature of loss.
Exploring how bereavement can follow you—turning every place into a somewhere filled with old memories of someone special, whose absence still lingers.
Like Irish Sea Moss
The imagery of Summer missing snow represents grief in an eternal, kaleidoscope.
Relaying the sentiment that heartbreak can be an up and down internal season all oñ its own, discounting external context.
As life continues to spin as sadness slowly creeps in.
Title.
Bereavement.
(A lone voice whispers)
Stranded forever
Everywhere I seem to go
I now know heartbreak
Like Summer misses the snow

It’s about to explode, ready set..
there’s such stability in chaos;
So wild the part of you that’s free;
Atomic part of you blown free
takes root and slowly starts to set;
Careful the construction of chaos;
Discounting the structure in chaos,
naive to that serving core of ‘Free’;
Supernovas have an unstable set;
Just let go and set the chaos free.

my co-workers were snippy, snotty, persnickety, uptight and mean.
I had been discounting this for some time, but could not ignore any longer.
quitting my job was the right thing for me; I did not belong with mean girls.

These poems are all about Non-duality, or Non-separation. If you are stimulated, you might search the internet (particularly YouTube) for speakers on this subject. Many find much freedom and peace in an appreciation of Non-duality. It is easily dismissed because of its simplicity, which seems to discount spiritual and religious practices. But this discounting is eventually seen as a lack of appreciation for the message. Poems are all brief. Please enjoy, or skip by them! Thanks, Charles

Day's end ~ fiasco, near constant assail.
Discounting what's here, I crave what I lack.
In my own strength, I am set up to fail.
Regret for those words too late to take back...
Forgetting purpose, I thrash and I flail;
with each step taken, I'm further off track.
Thankfully, grateful I can again say,
So tender His mercies, new every day.

*** Talking with God ***
I feel us
Slowly shaking our heads
In unison,
With our delicious
slight smiles
Of shared understanding:
Much like the Mona Lisa’s
(a bit less than fully amused),
As we recount
The long list I offer:
Of my unthinking;
My mistaking; too
Impatient reacting;
Discounting; and
Ingratitudes.
All the opaque bits.
Transcending through
The thickness of
the rising
of invisible air:
All around me
And within me, revealing
In my downcast and glistening eyes…
Woe! My Awe stretches out
Prostrate,
To hear — first
As a chuckle —
The soft laughter of Abba saying,
“Child. Silly daughter.
No longer a crawling babe,
You stand still swaddled in
The tapestry woven
By the days of the many decades
you’ve lived, with
All your errs and joys
Becoming the frayed threads
I will re-weave within you beside me…
Silly daughter, hold
My hand, for age has brought
You back around to needing
Help to walk, and
There are just as many
Lessons yet to learn.
Observe!
Even the stars are
Held in place.”

Discounting the Cooked Clerk
Bah humbug humidity.
Cratchit’s counting on hot reality
with an unquenchable boss.
Air conditioner’s broke, but not.
Think Winter’s better? it ain’t.
Scrooged in Summer taint.

These days, there seems to be less room for opinion and choice
Like walls closing in, leaving little room to breathe
Freedom truly becomes more and more distant
Like a flower in a field, becoming only a dot to see
People are so focused on how others think
Trying to remove their personal thought process
Even discounting research the person may have done
To live in unity, is not trying to control or force others to conform
Respect is diminished in a mission by those who want things one way
There should be no fear of the expression of opinion
Or censorship against those who only want to express it
Choices made can depend on one’s lifestyle, beliefs or condition
Solutions can come from adapting to one another’s differences
Because all and in the end, we are not all exactly the same
In comparison to nature, nor are the trees, the flowers, the birds
When we accept these differences are what makes this creation,
So colorful, moving in a blend of inspiring success….
The light shines upon what brings us together in a common ground truth
That love and creativity is what connects us all

Gratitude
Written: by Miracle man

“Attitude of gratitude” is more than an impression,
Gratitude erodes rough spots that trigger aggression
I praise God’s name when HE aligns my attitude
and view my glass half full due to my gratitude
Things are seldom as bad as they might first appear
Gratitude counts blessings while discounting fear

Burly bear takes direction from young human girl
She is not demanding but does have swag and attitude
From other humans she shelters burly bear,
Keeps him a safe secret she only shares with those she trusts
At first only grandma, later her mother
Oh goody! You have a sweet teddy bear, they say
Discounting him as a simulated animal in her keen imagination
Not realizing he is full grown, even bigger than she is
Her totem animal, her spiritual protector, sent by Mother Nature
He is of use until she stops believing in him.

At the brink of my horizon dipped in destiny free
when the new sun arose in spectral color spree,
my lone languid life woke up and promised me,
someday it would sail me across the stormy sea
to the iridescent island of my dream I would be,
where I would absorb the twilight patina in glee,
and drench the soul in stardust glow of ecstasy,
but this would never happen, I couldn’t foresee,
life didn’t keep its promise discounting my plea.
I couldn’t rise from the fallen sky’s dark debris,
with the dusts of despair I find the dreams flee
beyond the last mile of journey, the path I see.

The Bible
By: Miracle Man
1-6-2019
The Bible is instruction to which we should adhere,
Through our love of God and not discounting fear.
It's easy to trust Him with things going our way,
And that's when it becomes easiest to neglect to pray.
Neglecting God's word has become too pervasive,
And to Satan, God's word, is extremely abrasive.
We must guard against drifting toward self-reliance,
For then we'll be found guilty, of noncompliance.
Prayerfully study it daily, and absorb its content,
Then being thankful will become a daily event.

We live in our houses
Cocooned in our ways,
Agreeing
In the correctness of ourselves.
Sure we are
Right.
Seeing the world through our one point of view.
A one-person, one feeling perspective.
Not wishing to be confused by others perspectives. Hoping they will keep them to themselves.
Looking for validation
Of our right-ful-ness.
Adding proof to our own schemata
Discounting anything and everything
That does not fit.
Savagely ignoring anyone else’s opinions. Closing our minds, turning our backs.
Not wanting to be confused
Or conflicted
Especially not being flexible. That is for liberals, right?
Cocooned in our rightness, we congratulate ourself.
In total agreement

Society has held us captive
Discounting our own perspectives
Our individuality’s defined
Our personalities – entwined
We strive for power and control
And wealth and riches are our goal
We scrape and struggle to succeed
To the collective, we concede
We look to others for direction
Accept their words without direction
Our lives are wrapped up in our titles
And our identity is stifled
But what would happen if it’s finished
Are our triumphs more diminished?
When we’re stripped of our old roles
What will our destiny behold?
Our lives are more than we believe
And that our senses could perceive
Our posts are brief, but our purpose’s huge
While we submit to subterfuge
So we defer to deeper plans
And see life through a wider lens
Embracing growth as more diverse
Our novel conclusions, we’ll disperse
