Stone Idol Worship

Stone Idol Worship

. for public domain

She gives me heavy stones to carry,
and from the other cliff,
she calls for me to hurry across
a swaying old rope bridge.

"I've shrines to build and pujas to sing
to my dearest Hindu dieties,
flowers, and hotras, pleasing spices to offer
before the daylight ends."

And as she calls the wind blows hard
through the darkening chasm yawn.
Braids of the bridge squeak from the strain.
I shudder, and chillingly creep along.

A Father's pleading

By mystic river's waters,
Shielding mountains, illuminating sun,
With clear jade, embrace unintentional mistakes.
Within five kowtow, seeking heavenly
Kindness beneath.

Just like this, Fuqin kowtow five times to,
'Mountain outside the family' and 'Dragon king'
To embrace the 'iron flower', protect her
And let drop of water washes away the mistake.
                                                                                                 ~Byeol

__________________________________________________________________________________________
 Fuqin: father
Mountain outside family: in-laws
Dragon King: daughter husband
Iron flower: daughter
Let drop of water washes away mistake: forgive unintentional mistakes

Explanation: this poem highlights the cultural and historical context of many Asian countries
Where in-laws family are revered as equivalent to or given as much respect like dieties.
Just as people bow 5 time to river, mountain and sun to seek protection and forgiveness for unintentional mistakes,the father bows 5 time to in-laws and husband. This gesture show the immense respect required of bride family towards groom family in historic times.

The Theme of Love

The Theme Of Love

A species creature flew downward
a half a million years ago
to find its nest and feed its young
to trudge on and repeat the day

their sounds emitted and were cast
into the air to echo far
into the dieties of sound
worshipped deep by motley hordes

and then the sound evolved in time
to Music, psalms and poetry
the Music was the theme of love
of its sadness and of its joy

for poetry relates to see
the rythmn and the imagery
to sing out loud or stress a word
with syllables so lovingly

for they are walking hand in hand
to blend into anthology
where Music can accost a poem
and vice versa in return

Bad In the Middle

no praise to hell or heaven
will save or damn my soul
No guidance from above
No deals made below
You faultless dieties and demons
I will will make you pay
The armour that protects itself
Rue the day
You threw freewill this way

What Are the Roots That Clutch

yet the people rebelled against me
in the wilderness locusts and wild honey
he poured out his wrath on them
yet i did what would keep it
from profaned in the eyes
of the fighting nations
do not follow the idols of your ancestors
the sacred river flowing dirt
remnants of burnt carcass
yellow flowers merging with clotted blood
naked sanyasis dancing in the charnel ground
post mortem rituals ego transcending
tantric liturgy molding the mind and desposition
prayer beads, flower pujas ,yajna ,mortification
of the rotten flesh, summer solstice
esoteric dharmic traditions
archetypal liminality surface
chthonic dieties dragging
will you defile yourself
what are the roots that clutch
what branches grow out of serpents

Premium MemberTurning Chaos Into Harmony

1.)  I’m mostly brain-dead nine to five,
But suddenly I come alive
When I have an idea for a song.
For me there is no greater boon
Than putting lyrics to a tune.
I feel like a genius all day long.

2.) Music sends you to foreign place:
Around the world or outer space--
Russia, China, Africa or France.
It can raise you up or take you down
With a major or a minor sound;
Lull you to sleep or make you wanna dance.

3.)  Music is so fundamental,
You might say its elemental.
It’s in our cultural identity.
Babies can sing before they talk,
And like to dance before they walk.
Seems it’s hardwired in our circuitry.

4.)  We proclaim our liberties
And reverence our dieties,
With our anthems and our sacred hymns.
My hope for ‘eternal glory’
Is a catchy song that tells a story.
For me that is like a priceless gem.

Chorus
The Nirvana in my universe:
Composing clever rhymes and verse,
And putting them into a melody.
Choosing a scale to fit the words
Helps me find the proper chords--
Turning chaos into harmony.

The Leach Cathedral

The wretched, green
the wretched green
Cathedral of the leaches;

the leaves decay,
the minions pray,
and Dieties give speeches.

They pay their dues
and bleed for news
thruthful words for bamboo pews,

while those with means
swap reds for greens
and do not own the reds they use.

The wretched green,
the wretched, green,
the wretched green.

Darfur, Sudan

Desert sand, tan and wind rippled
Dry, desolate, drifting-dieties'
canvas evolving, serenity garden

Strife and soldiers, guerilla warfare
South of Egypt, West of the Red Sea
Land Cursed by God for whorng against
God with other gods. Descendants still
pay the sin price today.

Confussion, hate consumed
Evil conduct, evil rulers
Abuse and cripple the refugees

Mercy on the children, Succor
their hunger and thirst
Give the weak, strength and compassion
Deliver the wicked to your justice, Lord.

I read about this region today and descided to write a poem, the people are being abused
and raped. Pray for this people and area. this is north Africa.

Eternity

Eternity enchanted by beauty unseen,
a fantasy hidden like treasure you'd dream,
the smell of the air is so sweet I can't think;
The animals there are like words I can't speak;
A dieties palace, A kings paradise,
with no troubles or worries, now that would be nice;
Everybody shows love no hate is up there;
Have mercy dear God I can't wait to get there.

Eternity doomed full of mustily filth,
scorching flame every pain you forever shall feel,
its rottenous maggot filled fungus is gross;
The things you see there frighten whole gangs of ghosts;
Saint Nick with his pitchfork, and horns like a bull,
is a king who rules over his servants too cruel;
and the chaos he brings on the earth is none near,
to the chaos you'll see if you end up down there.
