I’ve been transmitting
on the frequency we talked about—
the one braided with microwaves
and half-truths
about entangled minds
and sympathetic resonance.
I figured you’d catch the pulse
once the white noise parted,
once my kettle screamed
or the dog stared too long at a corner
that wasn’t empty.
My mouth even watered
with your name
on the dough's first rise—
I dallied in the kitchen
with a low-stakes ritual,
used gravity to split particles—
you still didn't answer.
Did you notice any of it?
Do earworms still play my advice
like backmasked invocations?
I wouldn't run from a little proof
of your esoterica.
Maybe you’re the kind of quark
who skips the symposiums entirely—
no RSVP, no collision data,
just a shrug in the margins.
Or maybe your reception
requires stranger offerings—
Either way, you should know:
I'm running out of ideas.

there was a young cad named O’Byrne
who dallied with the lasses and then spurned
till one day he tangled with Molly
who wouldn’t put up with such folly
and poor ole O’Byrne got burned

BETTER MAN (Hughes) : HUGHES TURNER PROJECT (2002)
------------------------------------------------------------------
When I see calm sky I feel your eyes
When I gaze at the range of mountains
I see how you stood by me at times
Feeling gentle breeze I sigh your name
As waves tease my feet I sense your smile
I see you everywhere I tell you why
I'm a better man now, I feel peace
I have found my calling, I now know
I Won't let go now, you complete me,
My destiny. That is what I found
I'm gonna tell you I found you are
My calling. That is you and you alone
I've never felt strong ever before
I've dallied away, I think too long
It's time I gather myself to ask
Let me live to feel weather with you
Now on, you are my destiny, you
Make me better man, better than ever
Life is gentle if you are with me
A weed looks lovely with you by me
I believe in fate, I am aware
I no longer pretend I'll be free
Don't let me down, you are my calling
Take my hand, take me along from now on

AMERICA, THE CENTER DID NOT HOLD
The center, woe the center
Are we surprised it did not hold
Not even in America
And if the truth be told
When the two twin towers toppled
We were stunned aggrieved and hurt
Long gone the days of minute men
No one to sound a swift alert
With eyes wide open still so blind
We failed to recognize
How much 'covid' would reek havoc
Right before our very eyes
Relentless in its progress
Devastating all it touched
No army couldn't stop it
Even if one bothered much
Still we dallied on so docile
Till an enemy within
Ripped and ravaged through the White house
Bent on murder and revenge
Men compliant and acceptant
Eyes fixed on money, power, fame
No thought for country, without conscious
Doubly dying, soil their name.

She’d a shopping list in her bag
Long since lost in the mess
But she could remember it vaguely…
Dammit .... she’d just have to guess
She grabbed a trolley out of the garden
It squealed and it see-sawed
No wonder because one of the wheels
Went backward instead of forward
She shot in through the doorway
And breathed a deep breath in
Her total focus needed now
To avoid financial ruin
Starting off with a hiss and a roar
She was soon completely absorbed
At looking at expensive delights
None of which she could afford
So she dillied and she dallied
With choices designed to confuse
She was temporarily suckered in
By an offer to good to refuse
Finally finished, she staggered
Trolley piled up high and bulging
To the self-serve checkout queue
She had regrets about indulging
Wearily she scanned her goods
Then let out an almighty groan –
After all that bloody effort
She’d left her visa card at home

When shopping I espied my plumber
I’d dallied with him in the summer
We’d meet round the block
I’ve seen his ballcock
He ditched me, I couldn’t be glummer
He’s laying pipe with my friend Mary
I advised her she should be wary
Because I do not think
He’ll be fixing her sink
But bonking her down in the dairy

Wending her way westward, wafted on whispering wings
Sailing serenely southward, slithering past secluded scenes
Nudging northward, noticing narrow, noctilucent moonbeams
Edging effortlessly eastward, entering ecstasy's eerie baleen...
Grace dillied and dallied, then dithered and doodled and dozed
Could Heaven's Handiwork save her? ~ Neither angels nor seraphs know

In a distant land many miles away
Lived a hermit who dilly-dallied all through the day
When it came time for slumber
He resorted to counting numbers
Of young lasses showing asses part of a beach ballet

Jealousy - One, Nine and Sixteen
She walked down the stairs while holding her hands
With tears in her eyes she could not refrain
She pummeled the door and she writhed deep in pain
He entered the door and called out her name
She grimaced at him and she slapped his face hard
You dallied , I heard with a lusty coquette
I love you no more , begone from this place
Your conduct with me has been a disgrace
Breathless confrontation consumed his face
I beg to differ you’ve been misinformed
My sister came by and I kissed her hello
I sought her advice to buy you a gift
She knew that you liked her favorite song
Please play this CD for the time you recall
To make you remember on the day that we met
The music pulsated into the night
Embarrassed she cried and she held him so tight
Forgive me, my dear, I now see the light
The music continued and he honored her lips

The Rapture of this Life
To recall youth’s control on life
My age was budding as a rose
I played the rogue devoid of strife
Explored the world and love as well
And dallied with the lady Death
My world will be a vacuum soon
Though suffering with baited breath
Death has never been amiss
As I plunge into this deep abyss
My soul has risen from the depths
The rapture of this life is new

Preparing A Salad
Often we would have dilly-dallied,
While we were preparing a salad;
Made it mellow,
With much jello;
Menu now old and no longer valid.

She dallied by the garden gate
and wondered if she should
continue on her journey or
return to get her hood.
The excursion to grandma's house
without proper protection
could cause a potpourri of woes,
a cold or an infection.
Little did she know how much
her hood kept her defended,
without it she was at a loss,
her life could well be ended.
The big bad wolf came out in force
and caused a chain reaction,
But with the headgear now intact
she dodged the interaction!

His mother told him, watch out
many a lass you will meet
with some you will dally
share a kiss or two,
some you will bed
but take care, for a lass
that's too easy is not to be wed
this advice he took to heart
with many a lass he dallied
most to his bed he took
'til one day he fell in love
with a lass called Jill
on bended knee he asked her
will you please wed me
oh no she said no never
my mother warned me of studs like you
she told me, bed them, don't wed them
for a stud he will always be
