The Rapture of this Life To recall youth’s control on life My age was budding as a rose I played the rogue devoid of strife Explored the world and love as well And dallied with the lady Death My world will be a vacuum soon Though suffering with baited breath Death has never been amiss As I plunge into this deep abyss My soul has risen from the depths The rapture of this life is new Let Your Pen Drip Contest Sponsored by Broken Wings May 20 2018

Ralph, this is really beautifully penned, you used the given words in a wonderful way, the only problem was concerning my contest rules. Yes, sometimes rules restrict the poetic flow and this had plenty of flow, well done~

Very nice, Ralph. Did you use one of the four phrases she gave us at the bottom of your poem as the theme. I think she asked for that!
