The Rapture of Death

The Rapture of this Life

To recall youth’s control on life

My age was budding as a rose

I played the rogue devoid of strife

Explored the world and love as well

And dallied with the lady Death


My world will be a vacuum soon

Though suffering with bated breath

Death has never been amiss

As I plunge into this deep abyss

My soul has risen from the depths

The rapture of this life is new
