Constipated onions
Immaculate cantaloupe
 Collard, mustard, turnip greens
 crabgrass eating artichoke distant
Are the carrots potatoes fried display?
But the watermelon
Praise on the tomato mustard says
We be going to have ketchup today

Un-Fairie Queen

An un-fairie queene
from an unchivalrous tale
lumping and clumping
off beaten tracks
down beaten ones
so beaten
that they click and crack
criss-crossed with crabgrass
so tall that it looks
like some fiendish crag
it crassly sticks to soles
and copiously
feasts on clothes
not only that
there are the pools
mighty, classy and cool
clamouring loud and clear
to be given their due
for they are
the sole claim to fame
of those grumpy roads
they welcome cars
with their clip-clop
and lure them to splosh
to splash the passers-by
Then comes that tired
un-fairie queene
holding a ray of hope
clinging to it
 lest it slip and fall
and though dim it is
she still believes
it can bring some light
and touch some souls
That’s what she has
her feet of clay
but come what may
she will forever
have faith
in her fairy ray.

Premium MemberTraverse the Course Where Reality Is Going-

In my systematic dreams dissension
As gargoyles front and flank In deception, Oh! did I mention
Floating in the skies those lost balloons
Those non frequent flyers poise to rise toward the moon

Sunflowers and tangerine dream's frightening crabgrass
Thickets and thorns weeds growing covering the tulips
Frightened fragrant graphite before the rain
Covers the grasses and dew mornings just before the hurricane

Traverse the coarse where is the realities going
Fig leaf green with envy Mystikal skyscrapers castles
Traverse the cause of man unwritten brawls
Who are we to say that we create

When are filthy souls are filled with disdain and hate
Traverse the coarse where's reality going?

Who said?
Health isn't about politics!
Health shouldn't be about politics!
Health should be above partisan politics!

Healthy systems
are not about unchanging purity
and safety
and traditional dogma.

Healthy ego and eco systems
are much more about diversity
flexibility
and courageous curiosity

Just as wealthy economic networks,
local through global,
include ecological interrelationships

We might associate resonance
with polyculturally robust interactions,
personal and political,

Multiculturally resilient
dynamic stasis--
Slow inclusive
and diversely intricate
Beauty
cross-pollinating
climaxing inclusive diversity

Avoiding the monocultural purity
and calculating sobriety
of a 100% crabgrass landscape,

Or 100% concrete

Or 100% saltwater environment
with no above water healthy ecosystemic landmass
embedded in prehistoric
pure and safe
powerful but unenlightened
bedrock.

Spring Awakening

The first monarch butterfly,
Just flitted by.
Lazily drifting through stark spring sunlight,
Seeking any blooms to alight.

Daffodils cheerily glow before front fence,
Oval ridged petals in breezes wave thence.
A dense carpet of creeping phlox, its tiny pink flowers,
By front door, were awakened by showers.

Self seeded petite pansies already in bloom,
Peek out between roses, making room.
Surveying my thorny ones, finding none to replace,
Among 350 planted, a rare fact to embrace!

Three classic garden statues returned to front yard beds,
Welcome passersby while ruling my homestead.
Wooden whirligig birds and small figurines still to set out,
Along with birdbaths hereabout.

Of slight interest, the annual lawncare routine,
But necessary before dreaded crabgrass is seen,
That mars gardens’ lush green frame,
So reluctantly, I’ll engage in that game.

Premium MemberHomeless Heather

Homeless Heather
Lived in yet more so outside of a rundown tenement
She would wash her hair in the toilet
She would eat bread thrown in the yard for the birds
She wore to mix map pairs of shoes
Wore worn wholy nylon stockings
Would boil dandelion's crabgrass greens
Homeless Heather
Does in no way feel no way feel better
Has cardboard at the bottom of her shoes for leather
What is the same tattered dress
Has no form of income
We're not in the rundown tenement she lives in the park
Under the bleachers at night in the dark
Squirrels and rabbits have your heart
In morning time sparrows and Robin wake you up and song and verse
Homeless Heather
Could do better
If only she would just arise and stand up
And the community be with love embrace her
Rise up community help her out

Fly walking on the grounds of the garden of Eden
Shane visions of peaceful coexistence animals engaging
A new world where there's no sin
In an environment where there's little wind
In the calmness of the trees in the waving of the leaves
There be no thistles crabgrass anything disruptive
Nothing but beauty and a place that lasts for all eternity
Even there's beauty in the garden shadows as God walks by
It's a new day Dawn

Mother May I

Mother May I
Go outside into the light
Shuttered windows and doors
I can not breath
Inside this house

The Sun light is on my mind
Flowers and trees and spring like weather
It should be boy meets girl on an open field
But I can not breath
Inside this house

Mother May I
Go against the grain and the law and take a walk in the park
And say hello to the crabgrass and burgeoning nascent of life
My detour from the box stores will be short
And I will keep my distance from the dark woods

Mother May I
Go to the top of the mountain and tell what I see

Mother May I
Go to the top of the mountain and tell what I see

That the promise land looks further away
That the dark woods are encroaching
That it is cold as hell outside
But I can not breath
Inside this house
No more

Dream House

Dream House
by Michael R. Burch

I have come to the house of my fondest dreams,
but the shutters are boarded; the front door is locked;
the mail box leans over; and where we once walked,
the path is grown over with crabgrass and clover.

I kick the trash can; it screams, topples over.
The yard, weeded over, blooms white fluff, and green.
The elm we once swung from leans over the stream.
In the twilight I cling with both hands to the swing.

Inside, perhaps, I hear the telephone ring
or watch once again as the bleary-eyed mover
takes down your picture. Dejected, I hover,
asking over and over, “Why didn’t you love her?”

Premium MemberO What a Vision-

O WHAT A VISION-
Picture this you and I alone with God and Jesus
Imagine just us walking along heavens wake
Just you and I God and Jesus
Stepping on those golden streets of gold;
Nibbling on manna-bread
Kiss of fountain springs
Water's glistering
Angels choirs singing
I see grand ma and em' praising;
There's no one crying
God shines ever on a light no need for the sun
O WHAT A VISION-
No one in pains
Long life living forever
Everyone's loving friends
The lion and the leopards affectionate licks the lamb
Not for the taste of the meal
But for the love of God
There is no crabgrass nor pollution
Everything in perfect order
Man's the perfect soldier in the army of the Lord
O' what a reunion I see many loving people of all creeds, races and nations;
O WHAT A VISION-
We all come together in loving praises to the almighty God our King
Let us all sing Hallelujah AMEN
Thank you Father for heaven eternally with love
O WHAT A VISION-

PRODUCED WEDDING FIASCO

If cantaloupe
Could elope
and marry a honey dew melon

What would happen
If a cabbage out grows the garden
As crabgrass and dandelions rapes the fruits and vegetables

All this and inclement weather
What's the matter
Cantaloupe cancels the wedding?
Why! you may ask amongst the dandelions and crabgrass
Because they cantaloupe

Premium MemberSpringtime Weeds

Growing weeds are any gardener's abomination.
My lawn mower appears to want to stay in hibernation.
I can't seem to get the old motor to run.
This is frustrating, and making me come undone.
The municipality says the grass is too high today.
They threaten to send a summons and fine my way.

I want to exterminate all the dandelions and chickweed.
Crabgrass and wild onions are also things I don't need.
There are other undesirable things on the lawn like clover.
They have proliferated themselves just about all over.
What I want is a nice thick green lawn.
When that is accomplished, my life can go on.

Premium MemberDandelions

These weeds seem to multiply in a plethora.
They have long tap roots that must reach to China.
I try my best to pull them out with each attack.
Unfortunately, they always manage to grow back.
Those yellow blossoms pop up all over the lawn.
Oh how I would really like to see them gone.
The airborne seeds just permeate all over.
They are a bigger nuisance than crabgrass or clover.
Yes, those botanical pests are a pain in the ass.
They make their presence and crowd out the grass.
Does anybody have a surefire remedy?
If so, then tell me about it immediately!

Tend the Garden

The flower bed needs weeding -
Before it is overgrown.
The tree branches have fallen -
Rotting, as they lie in the sun.
The grass is growing brown before our very eyes -
As we watch silently and do not move.
Too soon come the crabgrass and dandelions
The only color on this otherwise bleak scene.

      SO TOO...THE SPIRIT WITHIN

The flowers cannot blossom -
Lest we pull the weeds that choke them.
The branches when cleared -
Allow the sun's radiance to bask the earth.
The grass must be watered and fertilized -
Stoppping the dandelions before they grow.
Only then, can we but see the beauty within us.

Be mindful of how God's love can and will -
Color the landscape of our soul,
When we are willing to cultivate it...

     TEND THE GARDEN !
