Today, out along the east property line
Driving in extra posts to shore up
The ancient and decrepit fence
Carol comments on imagining
What it was like out here before radio
When there was only the sound
Of wind and birds and cows,
And I think how it wasn’t that long ago
And how 99.999% of human history
Was just that way
And how I lived a summer like that in my youth
Building a house while camping
Under a pair of big ponderosas
And a sky full of stars.
And how it was the happiest time of my life
But how it too passed
As our life accelerated up through the centuries.
Today mending fence
It’s nice to be reminded of our roots
And recall all the things we must have done
When life was simpler
And having each other
Was all that mattered.

i were will'n to love her rest

                          She wuz dressed like
                            the Pinkerton man
                                     until
the auburn locks rolled down her trench
when she removed that well salted
                                Stetson hat

the rules were about to change

The rustle uv her copper stallion
                        and the smell uv that
                             new barn hay

He slowly dismounted his horse
As he glanced at her his soul drifted
Floating on a cloud amidst the summers heat
A vision of loveliness looking his way
His mind lingered on this breath taking beauty
He felt he was drowning in the deep ocean
Being pulled by those sea blue eyes.
He knew in that moment that she was his
Never before had he felt that magical moment
It was as if woken from a long deep dream
She smiled and the sun shone brighter
Her eyes twinkled like the starry heavens
This cowboy had just met love at first sight.

Premium MemberCowboy Take Me Away

Cowboy take me away where rainbows hug the sun and the moon, beams watching us love Cowboy take me away to a place where the water runs up hill and we're transported to the top where it's still Cowboy take me away back to that summer day the sun set on our faces and love last forever and a day after you take me away

THE A-B-C'S OF LOVE
Don't get hurt in the summertime
love sure hurts in the summertime
love burns hot in the summertime
I'm tellin you!
Don't love much in the wintertime
love is tough in the wintertime
there's not much you can do with love
in the wintertime.
Spring is a bad time to love someone
before you know it they're up and gone
Autumn is no time
to fall in love.
Don't fall in love in the Fall
that's all.
Love sucks.

The subject was dropped, but when Billy went out on the next run I
was with him. And sure enough, there was number thirty-nine proudly showing
off her precious little boy. Billy just shook his head and shrugged his shoulders.
Oh how I love spring! The renewal of life and memories.
