It takes ten minutes
to dawn coat and gloves
scarves and boots and woolen caps
earmuffs and face masks
Pry open the frozen door
and step outside
wait thirty seconds for the dog to pee
and run back into the house
You don't always hear me complain.
I love the warm sun, the summer rain:
The springtime flowers and the autumn leaves;
But when winter arrives, unfortunately I start to freeze.
I like it when the temperature is 40 degrees,
And not when the snow is halfway to my knees.
Now I don't mean to sound snooty.
When I slip on the ice and fall on my booty,
And the cold North winds hit my face and nose,
There's nothing I can do, I suppose.
The fact remains that I don't want to be frozen.
Now I leave you with my favorite slogan:
Some folks like to frolic in the snow for kicks,
But brothas, like me, and cold weather just don't mix.
In cold weather
I feel free and
You can also feel
Crisp love in the air
That spreads its wings
weather - cold
I - old
trees - to bed
nose - red
head - aches
pumpkin - bakes
weather - worse

Herbstgedicht
The winter brings short, frigid days,
but we can find so much to praise
when sun’s bright and the redbird sings.
Short, frigid days, the winter brings.
December’s here with plans in tow
for Christmas feasts, tree lights that glow,
cantatas, carols, fireside cheer.
With plans in tow, December’s here.
On New Year’s Day, I celebrate.
Like others, I anticipate
great blessings. I rejoice and pray.
I celebrate on New Year’s Day.
A special time for valentines
comes next with chocolates and wines,
red roses, and romantic rhyme~~
for valentines, a special time.
With season’s end, March makes the scene.
We start to see some blooms and green.
Four times per year, two seasons blend.
March makes the scene with season’s end.

Temps dropping
freeze coming
dog shivers
Cold morning announces fall is here
I layer my clothing carefully,
Stashing away everything sheer,
Recognize some greet it with glee
Already enough cold weather for me!
We’ll still have some warm days
And I’ll attempt to dress accordingly
This time of the year has its ways
Fluctuating temperatures churlishly
I’ll try to dress most sportingly.
So hard for me to put my shorts away
Until the return of warm, sunny weather
But I realize the cold is here to stay
No matter what I put on, or whether
I shiver, freeze to death, or whatever!
Written September 27, 2022
It is very cold
The constant chill is getting old.
I do not like
This winter Reich.
Oh sweet Jesus,
Please unfreeze us.
We live in hot land
tropical where no rain born
cold for us is gift
There is a special fragrance in the air.
The weather is so cold and chilled.
To stand in my balcony I still have dare.
The intensity of cold however makes me thrilled.
The fog is all around.
With watery droplets my balcony is filled.
The air is blowing with a cold waves sound.
I am breathing but it feels I am breathing in the snow.
Inside my room a little warm I can found.
The sky got turned to mist and fog..
A glass of hot chocolate milk just make me strong...
My eyes are blinking and saying me that they are feeling cold.
Now in this balcony of mine the icy fog is difficult for me to hold.
The blanket is saying to me please come inside.
Just come and wrap me and I will make you hide.
It's all about today's wintery night.
I can feel the weather is so chilled but stars are still shining so bright.
Today Moon seems me a circle of snow,
But seeing moon even my eyes smiles and my face glows.
I can't stand here more because snowy wind started to blow.
When autumn leaves on tree branches disappear
And chilly winds spoil outdoor fun
The warmth of a fireplace beckons me to draw near
That’s winter to me.
When snowflakes blanket streets with a hush,
And snowplows, cars, shovels and rubber soles
Leave tracks and generate dirty slush
That’s winter to me.
When mercury drops bitter cold penetrates my bones
And I act to prevent colds, flu, and frozen water pipes,
My delight is in hot tea rather than ice cream cones
That’s winter to me.
When heavy coats, boots, gloves, scarves, hats,
Earmuffs, knits, mitts, sweaters, and wool gear
Make me feel like I’m hauling a bundle of baseball bats
That’s winter to me.
When smoke oozes from my nose and mouth
Crisp air makes lips chap, teeth rattle, fingertips numb,
Desire for warmer weather make me head south
That’s winter to me.
When days are short and nights too long
And Christmas celebrations have waxed and waned,
My prayers for spring to hurry up don’t seem wrong
That’s winter to me.
This is strange weather
For the Spring season
The whole sky is coated
grey
A wind is blowing cold
Tiny snowflakes falling
As it coats the ground
The grass a gray green
As fast as it falls-it melts
Only to begin again
The deck with white snow
Spreading outward fast
People walking their dogs
Wearing winter coats
It has been like this
For a whole week
This weather is cold
It feels like winter
When it is suppose to
be Spring
cold weather goosebumps
popping up on my soft legs
husband interested
Leaves of crimson fall,
Cold wind cuts through woolen coats,
Winter following.
