Nothing Like A Thank you

For the favor you did but never let me forget,
for the “no pressure” laced with regret.
for every “no big deal” that came with fine print,
I paid with a thank you,
and smiled like a flint.

For all the gifts that came with a clause,
For the cheers while citing my flaws,
For every applause wrapped in dissent,
I returned with a thank you,
as empty as the intent.

For every "helpful tip" served cold as a sneer,
For the pats on the back that came with a leer.
For the free counsel that came with a leash
I muttered a thank you,
then moved out of reach.

For the “just looking out” that clipped my wings,
For the fake "take care" with invisible strings,
For the hugs that came with terms to agree,
I nodded a thank you,
then quietly set myself free.

For all the words dressed in sugar and spin,
for all the eyewash blurred what's within
You spoke in ribbons, but traded in brick—
so, here's my reply
nothing like thank you does the trick.

Premium Member Thinking about Aladdin Sane

paving the way for our grasp
of the inevitable future
a lad insane or
androgynous
being true to oneself
we are mere husks
of emotional ineptitude
like the celestial tides
they ebb and flow
only checked
by other’s opinions:
‘Cowboys don’t cry’
an injustice to nature
being in touch with your inner psyche
is a sign
of emotional security
far more valuable than
intellectual IQ
which some sadly lack
compensating for it
in wild proclamations
citing dubious ‘facts’
if empathy is a female trait
then honour it in all beings
as Starman is accompanied
on his cosmic journey
by strains of Space Oddity
and Life on Mars?
his conceptual songs
that paved the way for us all …

Premium Member Debating the Science

Sweet rainwater, where is it from
Does it evaporate from the oceans
and come down from the clouds
If so, it should be salty, not sweet
Unless the clouds separate out the salt…

Or does it come from water above the clouds -
described in the six days of Creation –
which is not salty from the get-go …

How many angels can dance on the head of a pin
Scoffers ask to mock Talmudic discussions

Let these same scoffers debate the origin of rain
        Citing the science behind evaporation-separation
                              ~ and Big Bang Creation

Premium Member Dear Valentine

Dear Valentine.

It all began in 1970, some 55 valentines ago.
Initially, there was a beautiful citing of YOU.
And quite suddenly, there was a thought of US.
That thought led to a longing desire for execution.
Deep within me was a fixating calculation of means.
The actual procument of resources came next,
Which led to a joyous celebration of YOU and ME.
Resulting in pure elation and satisfaction.

Happy Valentine, my bride.

Premium Member California Gold

It was during the early 80s when I struck gold in California.
I saw 'fool's gold' on the banks of The American River,
but my first citing of genuine California gold, the kind that
is forever treasured and never spent, was discovered on
the streets of San Francisco.

It took a while before I recognized it as gold. A closer look
and more frequent encounters were required before I saw
the gold because it was enameled with much dirt and Drin.
His name was Reuben, a harmless, homeless, and hungry man.

My next 'find' of pure gold was a 'real mother lode'
in the person of a beautiful lady named Estelle.
Estelle was the shield that God provided as
we sought shelter from one of life's storms.
Just thinking about her draws tears of love.

And then, there were the saintly trio.
Ron, Ester, and her sister Peggy. This
trio was my fuel in flight; my inspiration.

These five human 'pearls of great price'
were among the choicest, rarest,
and most precious of souls.
Real California gold.

Premium Member Some Say Caramel is Lucky

Caramel is lucky some say
because she is a famous singer
owns three mansions
is loved by thousands
her songs are known world-wide
She can fill a concert hall and makes millions

her mother committed suicide when she was ten
no one remembers that or thinks it is a big deal
Caramel has always wanted a baby
she has had six miscarriages
and one stillborn
but no one talks about these hardships

Caramel has been married five times
two men have left her using divorce
citing irreconcilable differences
her favorite husband died in a plane crash, age 41.
two others took a lot of her money with them
Maybe she is not as lucky as some think

Ode to peace we here looked for and celebrate to keep up

To say this is man sometimes akin to citing example
or what art thou we want to shed more light or extend
   to a kind of limit.
Once we admit the duty and responsibility or find no
way to escape, then can we roam like beast like normadic
people like peasant farmers like these common men
    in the society?.
Or share the same concept and notion of something
or grant we were raw or sometimes the quack and qualm
  youth's of a thing carnality?.
To the peace on the earth already we know the decay
already the night is half past eleven or this nocturnals of
    a thing.
O peace on the earth! :
  Humanity?,
    nation?,
  family?,
or what doth keepeth it, such pillar?, let distance
    a kind of fear?.

Premium Member tailgating in Springfield Ohio

Citing cats some immigrants ate
Was his weirdest part of debate
While this barbecue
Could ignite a few
It won't make America great

He's mired with the syndrome Tourette's
The point he should make--Trump forgets!
Supporters have pain
That his tired dead brain
Is consumed by those eating pets

Premium Member Original Blue Haired Alice

Original blue- haired Alice rewrote the story
Wearing a gown she constructed from linseed
With lace sleeves cut from a summer shawl
Possibly her grandmother’s favorite garment

She popped roses and pearls into her stiff sixties hairdo
Finding hairspray to keep them there was a trick
There are only six cans left, and hard to find
Ebay is selling the last two cans for $2500 each

An evil Cheshire cat appeared.
I wanted a Cheshire dog, she said.
The cat refused to go, citing poetic license
So blue-haired Alice ignored it

Not easy to do when it kept waking her up
Gnashing its loud angry teeth when she was trying to sleep
I will sit here in this teacup and behave lied the white rabbit
Who contributed to the annoying night noises by chewing carrots.

Irregulaer Ryhthmn

Without arbitration( a general notion of terms)
a solution was found to appease both parties.
Separation of was is current
means to define each aspect in
both positions and then
neogate the teams from the middle.
That gave the parent company the position of
"most concerned"
allowing the new words that
were needed
to be used as part of
the negotiating strategy.
(applied 65%/85%/95%/100%)
the collaboration of the two
put the exiting contract
in dispute;
and allowed the negators to
revail the terms of the newly
proposed contract. Citing the interest
of both positions.
Fair and accurate.
Each forum and position
than was taken into account as
the new word
usage was sorted and gathered.

Undifferentiated

Trees are still different
in form and detail,
arboreal identity may occasionally
float like a falling seed
into recollection; a mismatch between
a willow and a redwood for instance -

nevertheless,
trees no longer stand, rooted
in specialness just oneness.

I drove through a river of cars,
my mind shearing away
from citing models and make.
Inside the cars and trucks were faces;
again thought refused to cling
to these passing things
but left all such
pass-by
in a slipstream of anonymity.

The world of the named
has exhausted itself,
it is now emptying out.
The seen washes itself
in a boundless rivering.

Mind looks through faces, trees,
and all the traffic of life
as if newborn.

Clouds in a turning sky
know not what to call themselves
or even what they turn within.

Premium Member From Deep Within My Heart

Frequently, fragrantly followeth I
Fickle and fallow and famously shy
New love is true love and true love is known
Not by the seed but the need to be grown

Fortune may function to fashion your fate
Finding the future of passion is great
If your position is painfully pressed
Feign your audition and gainfully rest

Blamelessly fighting the urge of the pack
Shamelessly citing the courage they lack
Purely delighting the young and the old
Surely inciting the tongue of the bold

Sleeping is meant to be well by the way
Reaping her scent by the smell of the day
Keeping her bent to the vent is the key
Seeping that went from the tent next to me

Leaping about is the essence of fame
Deepening doubt is the presence of blame
Death is the vagrance of hope in the beast
Life is the fragrance of love in the least.

Enchanted Money

N1,000.00 for a mad beggar;
The rare spectacle would make you stagger:
Nation’s Top Bank Note on palms of pure dirt!
I had to yield to Strongest Suspicion
And out fish Giver’s Concealed Decision;
A need to criminalize Donors
Or they don’t taste what resembles honors:
Prayers for The Truly Charitable
While citing Pious Men: Veritable…

“This might be just Enchanted Money,
Whose taker would not at all find funny;
instant withdrawal of releasing hand
making The Very Giving less grand;
The Mad to be Twenty Thousand Times so,
The Sane fully cease to sensibly flow:
Receiver inheriting Givers Woes,
Start absorbing ill-Luck and its sad blows.

One should not in Life try to Charity
With Propriety place on parity:
Indeed, Begging is a risky venture:
A Boxer staking some tooth or denture.

Hush Your Mouth

They used a tracking device to
prove his cars computer was
Hacked. Not allowing the driver
control of his car.
A woman went on a strike bringing
these issues before congress.
She could prove people consorted
against others to make people's
Lives misible. A consumer group
Sued a foreign nation because they
Refused to reveal the atrocities of
these types of matters. Citing the
Average American at risk before all
Government workers.
We can't have this secret society in our
country!

Strains of Aite

Sorplaisitese was his name
he was moderatly poor
and happy. He had aweful luck
with woman. So he thought.
One day he meet one of his
former female freinds
and became wise
to plots against him.
He learned his family members
would corner his female freinds
and ask had he consamated there
relationship citing a faith that lead him
to beleive certain things.
This would
make spectical of him and cause
the woman to be whorish with him
and mean. Instead of being the
 woman he needed due
to the meddling of strange and
 unwanted questioning
it would cause strain in
there fragile condition.
Dumbfounded he absorded what
she said and made mention of
it to his father. Well his father
told him if ever this would happen again
he would try to help him
resolve the matter.
