ERODED VIRTUES
Does modernity's veil conceal nakedness within?
Does civilization's stride lead to exposure's sin?
How has religion's influence shaped culture's gentle face?
And tradition's timeless values, have they been erased?
I recall a childhood wrapped in decency's warm fold
Parents guiding young hearts, with virtues to uphold
Society's nurturing arms, cradling innocence with care
Churches stood as beacons, shining values beyond compare
But now, the tables turned, the church succumbs to society's sway
The pulpit's message echoes club songs' hollow way
Children claim freedom's right, to dress without restraint
Citing laws that justify, their nakedness, their shame
Yet, North Korea's stern gaze, and Arab nations' modest way
Uphold morality's standards, without compromise, each day
Why do other nations falter, and African culture lose its ground?
Has the pursuit of wealth and power, silenced virtues all around?
The church, the family, and society, must re-examine their role
Have they prioritized profit, over the values that make us whole?
It's time to mend our ways, to rediscover virtues true
And guide our children on a path, where decency and moderation shine through.
