Changers Poems

Premium MemberThe Whisper

Everybody has eyes to see
What they want to believe
The sky is blue if you want it to be
Everyone has a soul some weep
Some take a leap of faith
Some souls climb mountains some hide some are overwhelmed with doubts some get lost in a chaos of Jesus driving out the money changers from the Temple
But here we have Elijah who stood on the mountain waiting to meet God but first came a wind tearing the mountain apart but God did not appear followed by an earthquake that made Elijah shake and then a wild fire yet
In this violence & chaos God did not show Himself to Elijah but know this
Then came an uneasy silence and a whisper “Elijah”

Election Problem: the Court; the Umpire; Party and the Masses

WHAT THEY SAID:
MASSES: Our votes must count!
AREA BOYS: We only know our pay master, the originator of stomach infrastructure
PARTY MANIFESTOS:
LP: You won't labour in vain
PDP: When we were in charge, we were the biggest economy in Africa
APC: We will "cushion" the effects of subsidy removal and increase "minimum" wage.
THE UMPIRE:
Bimodal voter accreditation system (BVAS) and Viewing portal (IREV), are both "game changers!"
We "shall" UPLOAD, and TRANSMIT "results" immediately
The electoral process will be "FREE, FAIR and TRANSPARENT."
THE PRESS:
(A)
We have noticed election malfeasance, like: vote buying, voter suppression and intimidation
THE PRESS
(B)
Elections haven't started, but reports say "results are already being announced" in Nasarara
THE PRESS
(C)
Sources say "ballot boxes" just "arrived" Kogri at Noon
THE PRESS AND MASSES in UNISON:
Which one comes first, the results or the election?
THE UMPIRE: You reserve the right to go to court
THE COURT:
Ours is to "AFFIRM" victory and "DISMISS" noise makers.

Hieroglyphics

The said hieroglyphics drove into the night,
Racked up its mystery, then parted and swiped,
Bellowed at suspicion and candid eye sight,
To foster fomented a reasoned parallax, piped.

Left to right, oppositely for contrite poise,
Firm doors open keen, quick ready pens,
Horizontal alignment - or vertical repose noise,
A quiet supposition leaks to radiate slight dens.

Nowhere are the changers and the dyes,
Tainting for pleasure with respect full in heart,
The sound of footsteps - here, there, with eyes,
Demarcating foundations from glittery art.

The ben is there - detected and rye, sucking,
Shuffling previous dust beside dirt untouched,
The crazy ones create the world for bucking:
Reason defines the fibre, with mesh touched.

Premium MemberBeyond Greatness

Congratulations to Spain, the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 Champions (in their first-ever Women's World Cup Final), after defeating England 1-0 today! Congratulations also to The Lionesses. In addition to winning the European Championship last year, this is the first time England reached the Women's World Cup championship, and it is also the first time an England team has reached a World Cup final since the men's team won in 1966. So Spain and England can stand proud as game changers, in harmony with this year's World Cup theme: "Beyond Greatness!"

Humor At Jesus' Expense - 22 May 2020

Why was Jesus a Leftist? please extrapolate.
In John 2, Jesus overturns the money-changers' tables
In Mark 11, and Matthew 23, He cleansed the Temple of trade
He got to the City, took a left turn, not right to Roman garrisons
Jesus made a left, upset trade, earned his stripes as a LEFTIST.

Smith Wigglesworth, on the Bible, the only book he learned to read at 23: "When I read the newspaper I feel dirtier than I went in. When I read the Bible I feel cleaner than I went in. And I like feeling clean."

Premium MemberVirtual Inanity

Can’t touch the holographic Xmas tree
no carols play amid the on-line crowd
no greetings – lest offense be taken
the “money changers” temple rules again.

No Red Faced Santa rings a call to Alms
just pop-up ads that beckon further debt
the sleighs replaced by Mr. Bezos’s vans
no milk and cookies, all that stuffs been banned.

But we will host a dinner “Oh so grand”
and pose before the cameras as they wait
for sustenance too frail to feed a soul
in vain attempt to fill their empty fate.

Premium MemberSome Say He Made It Rain

Some say Vladimir Putin made it rain
Yet others scoffed: "The man is but a fool."

The climate changers thought he'd gone insane
The very folks who shout, "The Earth must cool!"
Who teach their theories to your kids at school

Their remedy's to raise the carbon tax

Chameleons of the Paper Chase

Gold scattered on the temple steps
its metamorphosis of wealth
disdained in greed a saviors poverty
coins for a foreclosure of faith
dirt to wash clean the hands of the godless

Each inferior tier of society
upon the holy ground pay their due
obligation to a crown of jewels
but wear a cross of thorns

Knotted whip beat the scoundrels
from their spiritual tariff
for the flip of a coin
bartered such a messiahs scourge
raised to anger against the thieves of the word

And golden lay strewn on the tabernacle floors
but to iron nailed their flesh to wood
a torture to flush the filth
from out the fathers house

By the sinners debt to poverty stricken
and in open mouth by vile poison are fed
for such evil to conceive
and in such evil tread
the money changers purchase on the gates of heaven

To the Mornings Star bidden
these chameleons of the paper chase
welcome the plutocratic suffocation
to deny all in abundance the love of God

My Ancestors

The room is filled with an aroma
They are love letters
Their sweetness tastes like honey
Their anger is like a lion roaring

They are game changers
They are trend setters
They are opportunists
They are risk takers

Their love is hard all the time
Their presence is felt all around
Their pride is their downfall
Their past is their strength
Their future is their stamina

Their sing the same song
They have stories to be told
They are kings in the making
They have an honour to be

Their wisdom is endless
They bear fruit in their own time
Their specification is crucial
Their gifts are priceless

My Easter Poem For You

My Easter Poem for You

Even though I do know Jesus died,
On Him I surely always have relied,
To be there meeting my each need,
For my knowledge much does feed.

When I had awaken on Easter Morn,
Thought about His body  badly torn;
Suffering so badly from head to toe;
Stabbed and suffered from each blow.

They were wondering how to handle,
Jesus wearing sandal who is a vandal;
By Him are saved as well as assured,
With faith, anything can be endured.

Only money changers did Jesus bother;
He has been in heaven with Holy Father,
And together there Trinity does discuss,
How they will be waiting for each of us.

Have a happy and glorious Easter.

The Market

The preachers are collecting monies,
many times more than once
during the holy Mass on Sunday.
Jesus has thrown the money changers

from the Temple, telling them -
what did you do of my father's house.
Money does not belong to God.
It belongs to Caesar.

Even Stock Market is closed on Sundays.
God was born and resurrected in the cave,
but his servants live in the manors,
in their castles, demanding alms

from the poorer than they.
Shameless preachers of the mammon.

1970s University of Life

Nineteen seventies, teenage years, never on my own,
end of school education, I’m now ready to do my thing
full of life, excess energy, over flowing with testosterone
sampling alcohol drinks, karaoke, thinking I could sing,

working life, set hours, rules and regulations to adhere
payday, money in my pocket, things to buy, new clothes,
night clubs, late nights early mornings, nothing to fear,
search for records, Motown, Beatles and the shadows,

feelings of freedom, my motorcycle and all the gear
helmet, jacket, scarf and boots, girl on pillion seat,
experience foreign holidays, sun, sangria and cheer,
nineteen seventies a time of work new people to meet,

decade of fashion, an era of change, for this country lad
new experiences, problems to solve, life changers,
Ben Sherman, Oxford bags, flower power, shoulder pad
oh to be young, free, happy, unable to see life’s dangers.

If Jesus Were a Wimp, He Would Not Have Been Doing His Job

Someone criticized Pope Francis for
Criticizing Donald Trump
Saying that the Pope should be
Loving and Forgiving

I thought the Pope is supposed to represent
Jesus on Earth

I don’t recall that Jesus was ever soft
On Hypocrites or Haters

Jesus was Loving and Forgiving;
Even to those who put Him up on the cross
“Forgive them, Father, for they know not what they do”
But He threw out the money changers
From the Temple
He confronted the Pharisees
He prevented the stoning of a woman
He healed and protected

Love is not weak
Forgiving is not appeasing
Teaching is not permitting others to continue
Their hurtful ways

I think Pope Francis is doing a good job

World Changers

When someone is born,

their life stretches before them,

a million-color tapestry shining with adventure,

hope,

dreams,

and chances to change their world.

Anyone can change the world around them.

Sometimes it's as simple as saying "hello",

or banding together to create something amazing.

We're all born world-changers.

We're all born with the talent to make our world a better place.

The world can be changed,

and anyone can make a difference.

All it takes is the courage to do it.

When We Can

Sentences that dissect our
limited lives
relate to nothing,
The only question to answer
is a view devoid of explicit sounds
that say who we are
who we answer to
and where we berth in our limited time,
Commands we answer to
embrace our strengths...
Divorce our struggles from
our destinies
and bury our thoughts,
And demand of us to grow, to defeat
To carry an unswerving belief beyond its immediate restrictions
to sway and startle our internal displays of affection,
to state our case,
and demand our unchristianed title
as changers...
to pray when we can...
and cry when we cannot.
