Scotland’s west coast
Untidy, uncivilized, ragged,
Flings its hands
Graspingly at the ocean:
Its long bony green fingers,
Its immediate mountains,
Surprisingly close. Its suddenness
Across the steel-grey dark sea
With heavy clouds threatening
From Beinn na Lice to here -
Dark and Menacing.
