soft feline height.
How I adore the ways you
make my heart dance.
When you slumber on me, my
heart, settles down to an
opal, moonlit trance...

Lady
is tired
goes to bed
the cat follows
she turns on her side
the cat jumps on the bed
then circling around her
the cat will lay with the lady
on the inside of her arm sleeping
never moving staying there all evening
The lady sleeps
Her cat is sleeping
Both in deep slumber
In the early morn
She feels a nudge
Eyes open- her cat
stares at her
Then chirps softly
The lady speaks to her cat
" It's too early to eat"
Time passes then again
The cat nudges her
To wake up from sleep
She looks at the clock
It is two in the morn
She rolls over dreams
Only to awake
At six in the morn
Now she feels tired
From lack of sleep
tiny kitten
swiped the air
opened her paw
nothing there
tried again
other paw
opened slowly
naught, it saw
smacked her lips
then meowed
curled up to sleep
bent, not bowed
midst blue wintry haze
welcomed sunrays
find their way on tiptoe
and at bay window
the content kittycat
purrs sleepily

meet ginger tabby
she's the shy, timid one
watching from 'cross the street

meet frisky calico
he's the mischievous one
who paws at your feet

she's the glutton
waiting for a treat

she's not so friendly
who claws and retreats

one more cat before we sleep
here at cat's marina
so many cats to meet

It is difficult to know exactly when
My mindful cat is practising Zen.
My cats have their fun
Then, they like to sit in sun
On the porch they go
Each one picks a chair that’s best
Side by side, in cat nap rest

The morning aches like bricks today
And every step I take, my feet
Feel entangled in wild weed
I will not leave, I think I'll stay
A weight as much a mountains thick
Upon my shoulders burnt and bare
Entombed inside, I do not share
Alone I bend beneath the brick
I reach the wooden chair outside
And sit... and sigh... a kitten's meow
She wants some food, I don't know how...
She doesn't care, stares hungry-eyed
I watch her chase a butterfly
Her spirit reaches out to me
When suddenly a smile I see
Upon my face, I don’t know why
I bring my coffee to the chair
To watch her play so fancy free
The mist lifts from my mind, a bee
Hums summer songs in morning air
It’s now I find my problems so
Are few are farther in between
Enlightened by this morning scene
I feel I’m free to let it go

I watched
As the old white tabby
Walked slowly
Into the corner
Of the room
Turning round and round and round
Until it fell
Deep into itself
And went
To sleep
Shut up and go away please
Meowing cats are getting to me
In the middle of the night for food or company
Shut up and go away please
Stop scratching my calves I want to sleep
Daytime is for food, love and games
Shut up and go away please
Meowing cats are getting to me
Sleep is like a cat
Only attracted to you
