Animals are nutritive friendly foes.
They are by God's authority subdued.
They have been source of unexpected woes,
When no proper active measure accrued.
Of them, we find rich foods flavored enough
To bless our darling demanding stomachs.
But as time passes by, hunting gets tough,
As feral soldiers keep tight their barracks.
For games, you also search for survival
Through worthwhile charms; cage wild game like capon.
Be careful, you: also versa rival.
Loose guard and turn the game animals feed on.
Hunting is a commemorative job,
Beyond fresh fleshy games to feed your gob.
When the purple turtle visits the supermarket the heels are worn in two. Heaviness and heaving are one and the same.
The exact trajectory of a star is never the same as reducing a pile of eggs to a penny and the wisdom of a wise willing charlatan is never to be trusted when dressed up as a fox.
The fox is not a fox for it is indeed pretence and as pretences are not pretty but pretentious it can be ascertained that a screwdriver can be a skewer for a meat pile of mametz can be a mammoth montage of mammals.
What can you say when you sleep with the hay asked the lime flea to the capon cabbage?
I am no woebegone capon peon
for forks and knives to come upon,
no, I am a busy rooster father
in serious need of a duty roster
to ensure my hens and chicks prosper.
I cannot falter as enemy spotter,
I must sound my distinctive alarm
when a predator intends us harm.
I also work hard watching the yard
and any rooster with a cocky saunter
who nears with intentions to conquer
will soon leave as a featherless trotter!
My hens depend on my blend of clucks
to direct them where food is stuck.
As an indispensable rooster general
who keeps up with so much busy stuff,
I am unable to relax nearly enough.
If my nap roosting suffers too many gaps,
I may suffer a sentinel general collapse!
It would be incredible if now and again
I received some gratitude from the hens ….

Capon
Capon roasted...served with
Citrus-Sherry Jus--Ah!
Consommé Virginia
Covers the Country Ham;
Cherry-smoked Foie Gras, then
Christmas Pudding ablaze...
Comely cocks cry out: Foul!

A David for David (For the contest by that name.) First Place Entry.
Once the legend Davy Crocket
Put a turkey in his pocket
And it gobbled till the Shawnee found him there
Then he said, "Oh what misfortune
I am not prepared for torchin'
And I wish to keep for longer yet my hair."
So he pulled that turkey outen
And it gobbled of a poutin'
And the Shawnee hauled it off to feed their camp
Poor ole' Davy was escapin'
So he ate instead a capon
And his forehead never did get quite as damp
I chase him round the hen house; gape on,
hens. I picture hot chicken soup on.
I put on spectacles,
cut off his testicles;
now, use-ter be rooster's my capon.
intoxicating
scents infused with rosemary
sweet desired capon.

I sauce a capon
but chine a salmon
I spoil the hen
but truss the chicken
I lift the swan
but disember the heron
I side a haddock
yet disfigure a peacock
A mallard I unbrace
but a coney I unlace
Olde English terms
