Burnch

have you ever had brunch?
brunches at home taste like
fireflies
air raids
spiteful victories
bludgeoning that one person i didn't like to death with my awards.

it tastes pretty good
until you realize
you have spent all your energy making it
perfecting it
but at the end of the day, you feel like something's missing
even when nothing's missing.
you feel that something doesn't hit right
giving the illusion that something's missing.

or is it perhaps that you added too much spice
and it's almost too hot for you to handle
but for some inexplicable reason you love
what you made just because it hurt someone else?

have you ever said or done something out of love for yourself and not just hate for others?
i mean if it doesn't hurt you, that's all that matters

i usually don't think about it either so i understand if you don't
what if the people who hurt us and just walked away
were destined to burn in our hands?

is it not true that hell is a product of demons?
hell is a product of demons.
that means we are hell.

School Ain'T Success

we were mis - understood for fools.

in fact we had to drop outa high school.

no breakfasts, No lunches,

 just brunches.

They made us weak

whenever we speak.

need not peruse the list of winners

we were sinners,

GOD bless our dinners - loosers

we held on to the JESUS piece,

kept our peace, worked out our piece.

Busily,doggedly,Relentlessly,

but not easily.

now we flood the covers of magazines

check em out on the sofas.

We transit in limousines

checkout our chauffeurs.

back in the days they dissed us,

hissed at us

now they missed us,

tease us, wanna kiss us,

JESUS!

In the Beginning: Love Is

lazy midmorning brunches
unexpected midday lunches
quiet candlelight dinners
walks in the park
simply holding hands
stolen kisses in the dark
clandestine afternoon delights
orgasms all through the night
dressing up for a theater date
rushing to make cocktails at eight
watching an old movie in front of a warm fire
breakfast on the run so neither of you will be fired
total distractions
fatal attractions
sending each other e-mails or text messages on your cell phones
anticipating and waiting for the next moment you can be alone
it's a many splendid thing
it makes the heart sing
it has it's ups and downs
it makes the world go round
exotic
erotic
sexual healing
an overwhelming, all consuming
emotional feeling

In the beginning love is all that and more

Call Me Old Fashion

Slept in late so we could get breakfast at brunches to go
walked about a mile sippin’ mochas to the park to dine under mistletoe
laid sunbathed with no panty lines
took our time getting back with romance butterflies on high in my abdomen
but that’s not where the day ends
spent and hour in the shower (trying to get each other bone dry)
(spent and hour after that licking each other bone dry)
simply kissed the day away on cruise control getting’ high
Didn’t know what time it was when you asked what my lips taste like
Don’t know which part of the day it was while you made everything alright
You walked away from me and in a little while I heard the phone ring
it was you In the kitchen asking if I wanted anything
